I don't think you will have any problems, as both models are almost identical, except in their network connectivity.
For more info, and how to flash, see here:

I cannot say because I haven't tried that myself.
It is upto you. Flashing or rooting always carries a small risk of messing up ur device. That's what makes it so much exciting!
You can however make backups of ur apps and data before attempting anything. Or if u root ur phone, u can make a nandroid backup too.

Its ok to use any modem as long as it works! Its also very easy to change modems if they don't work.
Have fun! Please add [SOLVED] to the title of ur post.

Most modems come as CWM flashable zip files, which have to be flashed in Recovery mode.
Some are available as .tar files, which must be flashed in Download mode via Odin.

[Q] Anyone Having slow WIFI connection Speed on Jelly bean 4.1.2

Hi all,
Anyone having this Wifi speed problem on SGS2 i9100G with Stock Jelly bean 4.1.2?
i download the firmware from Sammobile and flashed to my phone via odin. I did wipe out data before flashing.
This is my phone version
PDA: I9100GXXLSR
Phone: I9100GXXLSP
CSC : I9100GATOLS1
I tested with my phone Speedtest apps Download speed :20kbps
I tried with my friends SGS2 on ICS and getting : 700kbps +
Both tested with the same WIFI network and one to one connection.
Any fix or guide to solve this??
thanks~
Change/Update ur firmware.
Seems like there is a problem in kernel with wife driver.
And I won't think that it's always like this on Jellybean, because it's first time I heard about this.
So maybe a firmware fold or a bad flash.
Much success

another question, is the Phone/modems/baseband build related to the WIFI or it is only related to GSM 3g/HSDPA conectivity?

You can flash kernel alone, instead of flashing the entire rom.
Might work.. might not..
Be careful what u flash. Only flash stuff meant for I9100G.

[Q] [SOLVED] Galaxy stuck on logo screen

- SOLVED - (Thanks to immortalneo )
Hello, noob here D:
Here's the story.. I recently got a Galaxy S2 i9100. It's updated to the 4.1.2 thingy.
Tried to root it, used odin and CF-ROOT v5.5 in the process. Odin said it was OK but I got stuck on the yellow triangle.
Found a guide, guide said to install Stock Rom.. so I did. (Stock rom is I9100XWLPU_I9100XXLQ6_I9100XEZLP3_HOME.tar )
Now there's no yellow triangle but it's stuck on the flashy S screen.
I never had a smartphone, and I don't understand most of the words people use here (mainly that 'flash it' thing xD )
I tried to look for a post or anything to solve this but kinda failed..
Help?
What you have is called a 'bootloop' mate.. it can be sorted out.
Which android version do u have now? Its 4.0.4 right? 4.0.4 is subject to risk of eMMC Brickbug.
So, I suggest you download another stock firmware (other than 4.0.4) and flash it via Odin.

U mentioned 4.1.2. You also mentioned flashing stock firmware XWLPU, which is 4.0.4.
Yes, simply download a 4.1.2 firmware for ur region from sammobile.com and flash via Odin.
If it still bootloops, boot to recovery and do a factory reset.

Help With GT-I9100G PLz SOLVED

Hi,
I have a samsung S2 GT-I9100G,
I was running ICS and a update came through.
I updated my fone and now its hard bricked itself.
The fone turned off to update and neva turned back on.
I dont know how it happened.
I download a Kernel_I9100XXLPH and with that i was able to get download mode working.
I've downloaded a few firmwares to download into the fone, but it just fails
After Reading through the forum i think i have a corrupted nand,
So i took my fone to the fone shop and they told me that they tried to flash it and it wouldn't work.
They advised me to get a new fone
Now ive tried using a few step By step for noobs to fix it, but i cant seem to get it to work.
Since i have a empty fone, i have been trying to download jelly bean into it.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Rafmed
You must have flashed a kernel/firmware meant for the I9100 mate!!
I think ur gonna need a motherboard replacement!

Hi,
Thank you for a reply.
I have been download firmware from the S2 section in XDA.
After reading the forum, that's what i have come up with also.
But i thought i might just ask anyway's before i give up.
Rafmed
The S2 section has firmwares and kernels for both I9100 and I9100G. But both phones have different hardwares and if you mix those files, you will brick ur phone.

Hi,
I did not notice that and will look into it. Thank you.
I already had iCS running, So i have no reason to want to play around with the fone.
I received a notice for an update and i accepted, After i did that the fone turned off and didn't turn on.
I removed the battery and tried to turn on the fone. nothing. After playing with it a sign came up saying that firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
But once i connect to kies, it doesn't recognize the fone.

How to know which 4.1.2 update to use for phone from another country?

Hey Guys,
I've been searching internet for many hours now and I just can't find answer for my question.
Someone brought this phone over from UK, unlocked it, so it's carrier free and I bought this phone.
It has version 4.0.4
I heard that this phone can be updated to 4.1.2, which I've been wanting to do for quite some time now.
I understand that there are country specific updates, but I don't understand which one should I use?
I tried using Kies, but Kies is saying that I already have latest firmware version (although it's 4.0.4)
I would really want to update to 4.1.2, but I don't know which version to use in my case.
Do I need rooted phone to update it?
You dont need root to update to a stock firmware.
You can choose any country's firmware, it wont make a difference. Just make sure its an unbranded firmware.
If your phone does get locked after updating, simply unlock it after rooting.

Since ur on 4.0.4, first I suggest you read about 'eMMC Brickbug' issue on 4.0.4.
Check it with the 'Got Brickbug?' app on XDA.
XDA is full of guides on how to flash a stock firmware. First try searching for it.
If u still cant find any guides:
1. Download a stock firmware from sammobile.com.
2. Download Odin.
3. Extract the firmware into a folder.
4. Put phone into Download mode and connect to PC.
5. Flash using Odin.
