Whilst I'd love this too, it's far too difficult to program, isn't it?
seems like you could use mtp to create the tab and cfacebook within that.

i hate twitter =X
be ace with a streaming interface to so you could leave the tab open and watch ya friends updates come in live whilst in a desktop charger or something ;-)
sure Sony Erricson has this on one of thier phones..
Whatta great idea!!!
faboulus idea... we're waiting master
i never understood why they didn't incorporate this anyway...facebook over twitter any day.
+1 This is THE missing tab...
I so want this tab too!
FB Tab
This sort of tab breaks away from what HTC intended for the Sense UI. HTC intended us to use The Favorites tab and Contacts to see all the Facebook info. you can scroll through your contacts and see all the Facebook status and go to the contact to see their albums's etc.
The only reason that Twitter isn't integrated as most people don't "Follow" their friends on Twitter, only lists, websites, blog info etc.
thats all that missing from sense 2.5 is the facebook tab. Once its in their and its runs like the iphone facebook app we will be in heaven.
This is the one thing I was thinking "Wheres the facebook tab?"
Twitter got removed as soon as I had it...facebook tab would be simply awesome!
I guess its harder to implement than a twitter tab? Surely possibly though!
It would be great if it allowed you to update your status at the top of the tab then just showed recent updates below that. Something simple and easy to use.
So its a Woot Off today and it hit me, it would be so nice to have something that could do a check and show me what the new Woot is without me having to get on the internet every 2 mins.
I did a search and found one for the Android phones, anyone know of one for the WinMo phones?
Thanks!
i agree that would be a wonderful app
Ever hear of Twitter?
Using any Twitter client or the Twitter tab in Sense is the best/easiest way to keep track of Wootoffs IMO.
Ya, I just found that this morning from a buddy, might still be nice to have an app to check the site like sellout and shirtwoot.
But yes, twitter works just fine.

I did a search for apk's to try out on my newly rooted Nook and came across this post so I thought I share it here, I'm planning to try out a few of these and see if I can get any of them to work and thought I'd post the link here in case anyone else wants to give it a shot.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712594
Also here is a link to the droid X multitouch keyboard apk. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709948
When I get a chance to try some of these out (hopefully later today), I report back with my findings.
Please let us know. It would be great to use some of these...

I tried gmail, it installs but it doesn't run. Guess I'll need to install a few other items along with it. Tried live wallpaper too, that doesn't install.
k-9 email works much better for emails.. i got it off of applanet.
Site with direct .apk downloads that work
There is a bunch of freeware .apk's that you can download directly from this site:
vvvvvv.freewarelovers.com/android (I can't post links yet two v's = one w)
Including gesture search from google which I installed and it works great on the NC.
Here is the link: vvvvvv.freewarelovers.com/android/app/gesture-search
Gesture Search 1.2.1 seem to be the latest available version. Below you can find file(s) assigned to this version:
Gesture_Search_1.2.1.apk (807 KB, ↓ 445)
As far as the files from the Galaxy S: I haven't had much luck but I only tried a few. My main concern is trying to find a working calendar app that will sync with my google calendars and a working gmail app. I got the calendar app installed and have the same icon I have on my phone but when I tap the icon nothing happens. For now I'm using K-9 email and it seems to get the job done but I'm still searching for a fix for the google apps.
hey jm20,
how does this gesture app works? is it using strokes or something like that?
gesture app
It basically indexes your files then you use your finger to write a letter on the screen corresponding to the file name you are looking for and the program starts to filter the results, it works rather well and is pretty quick. If you have a bunch of unorganized files on your nook it could really save you time. If you are very organized and know exactly which file is in which folder the app won't really be of any great use to you. Hope that helps.
I have been using dolphin HD 4.0 browser which also uses gestures for navigation and it works great. Seems to be more accurate than the stock browser, as far as screen tapping on links go (probably just my imagination though) and it has built in pinch to zoom.

jm20, thanks for explaining , it is quite clear now

"Friend Me"
See if it does work on GT 10.1
nice find! it's not perfect, but it works better than the official facebook app(which is really embarrassing for facebook)
this looks great!
Not bad, But It would make sense for Facebook to add tablet support these days.
the ipad is just about to get one soon... so hopefully that means one for honeycomb as well
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/17/facebook-ipad-app-release_n_879015.html
Can anyone post the apk? Thanks!
fb too busy for apps
facebook is too busy trying to sell users information and invade their privacy instead of developing apps for ipad and honeycomb
u can DL it from Andriod market for free
I really like it so far. I haven't tried the official facebook app yet but the layout of this one is really nice. Only gripe is that I can't seem to find the notifications.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
I don't like how clicking on a friends name does not bring to to their profile. I don't wanna have to search for a friend that just posted on my wal
Agree deleted app
If this doesn't quite work for you, TweetDeck works fantastic for basic functions. No liking individual comments, and I'm not sure how it handles pictures, and there's no chat, but it scales nicely and the app is solid. Notifications too. You do need to make a Twitter account to use it, but it's a small inconvenience until Facebook gets their act together.
Edit:
It works BUT it is very limited. I hope the dev keeps working on it. It is a GREAT idea.
Anyone tried it?
Going to try it out. Will give some feedback later.
"Ingenious Android App Allows Web Browsing Over SMS"
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2397...allows_web_browsing_over_sms.html#tk.rss_news
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jeffdonahue.smozzy
Seems to open the 1st page only but if you go into facebook or something you can't sign in cause you can't go to the next page.
Good idea. Needs work for sure.
This app definitely needs some love
I remember when I used to be able to web over SMS with my sidekick lx.
What an awesome idea. I can imagine the speeds would be very slow, though.
Great Idea
Might not be practical for daily use.
