Anyone have the S-OFF tool for windows - HTC Amaze 4G

Aparently J-bear no longer supports windows and I'm having trouble with getting Ubuntu to find my hard drive. Does anyone have the S off kit somewhere by chance?
Edit: got it thanks.

Run Ubuntu from a LiveCD. That's how I ran Juopunutbear and did S-Off on my Amaze.

Idk why ppl are so gung-ho about s=off for this phone... I thought I solved all those issues when I had madmaxx82 come over to this phone with smart flash.

The only real advantage I see is that it can be returned to Locked status for warranty returns. I'm S-ON and never had any problems.

The only real advantage is to those with the international model because they must have it to upgrade to ics But according to the OP profile he is on tmo so doesn't really need it

I believe smartflash sometimes fails to flash properly ROMs. Also, restore ROM (boot.img particularly) doesn't work. Phone just gets stuck after reboot, so needed kernel re-flash. Also, without S-Off and SCID, for example, latest radio update can't be flashed. So, I believe that's why peeps looking for S-Off.

j-bear no longer supports windows? Hmm mind if I grab a copy myself?

I'm assuming your unlocked, even if you relock it will say relocked, tampered cones from having a custom recovery and ics. I have a stealth hboot it requires s-off but will make it look stock for warranty issues.

You got off easy. Sometimes it can get a little nasty in here when you ask an already answered question.
Everyone must still be happy about S-Off or the new leak or something.

[Q] Is there any easier way to get s-off then the JuopunutBear method?

Im thinking of buying an htc amaze, but i ain't gonna do that if to gain full root access i have to do that whole 'wire trick.
but if there is any easier way i will go for it...
thanks,

2 things I need to correct you right there. The name's Keylogger. Keylogger_0.
On a more serious note, my toolkit is FOR s-off users. It does not help one achieve s-off.
And to answer OP's question, currently, the only way to s-off the amaze is through the JuopunutBear method. From what I've heard, the J-Bear method may be tricky, but as long as you follow directions, it is pretty straightforward. Took me many tries, but as long as you use the correct insulated wire, and follow instructions, it isn't too difficult. You just need time and patience.

People are getting upset about something they don't fully understand... This law is for unlocking the phone to bring to other carriers to use... not unlocking or rooting. and our phone comes factory unlocked so there's no reason to QQ here on the DNA forums...
I love the DNA and I hate to say it ... but if this is how it's going to be then my next phone will not be an HTC device. Their build quality and overall hardware is fantastic, but I find it ridiculous that they're going after dev's like this. I'd rather pick up a Galaxy S4 when it's released and unload my DNA if this is how they're going to treat their market/buyers.
Seems HTC didn't want prerelease leaked ruu's out which were obtained by illegal means as the main reason for the shutdown.
If we host a Sense 5 Rom, same thing might happen here I suppose.

I wonder if setting S-off would help the camera problem i am having with my One. I posted the problem a few minutes ago. My question is what is S-On or S-off mean? I saw when I was rooting my phone and flashing a custom kernel....
Can I ask what the two of you are even talking about ? I don't think you know .
No htc phone requires soff it's optional thing when available .And not always easy to achieve with HTC.You must gain an unlocked bootloader before you can root once you unlock and root you then can soff if it's been achieved for the specific device that one is attempting soff with.
It has nothing to do with needing it for root or needing it at all, soff just gives us the complete total control to flash kernels roms and a ton more of tech stuff.

You can't change soff or s on the way u think .It's not anything to do with what you are thinking.
Soff is very hard to achieve it takes great minds to do so . This is why HTC is greatly difficult to hack over the Samsung devices .
You don't need soff so stop worrying about it .trust me ,cause the HTC one is like the nexus models they work the same soff isn't needed really where as any other HTC soff phone is needed to flash roms in there entirety.
Without soff on most HTC phones you have to flash roms in pieces like boot.img has to be done from a pc before flashing the rom ,whereas the One can still do all that with s On.

Back to the point,
Now for the 2nd time I'm telling you, you have to do the s off process again. At the end of the process if it asks you if you want the jbear hboot choose yes.
This isn't rocket science, you aren't programming a satellite, nor are you short circuiting your phone, so calm down people. If you are that worried and paranoid about it you need to leave xda and get an iPhone or something that doesn't challenge your mind and isn't technologically advanced. So if anyone else is reading this that's clueless about this process just keep that it mind.
