Why there is no T-Mobile HTC ONE Forum? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I just wonder why there is no separate Forum for T-Mobile HTC ONE ? The device have been already confirmed to release and i even pre-ordered from HTC website. Both ATT and Sprint version have their own forums. This is just unfair xda.

Because the device does not launch until mid-May, whereas the AT&T and Sprint models have already been released to the public. I'm an idiot, just another passing fart.

who told you that ?
First, T-Mobile official launching date is April 24th and you can get it by April19th if you ordered earlier at HTC website like me or from best-buy before they pulled that off.
Second, AT&T and sprint models haven't release officially until April 19th unless some att customers got a chance to buy because of the confusion with HTC First.

Then wtf? I thought the HTC One was slated with the same release as the S4/S3L (since T-Mo loves to release 5 models all at the same time, all at the same price point, and 2 of them are last-gen). Oh well, maybe we'll get a dedicated or we'll have the shared space that we're in already because the T-Mo version will be closest to the international versions? Or is the T-Mo version close enough to the AT&T version that we'll just get blended into there. I'm honestly looking at the S4 or N4 for my next phone for LTE.

T Mobile USA tweeted today that it will be available on the 24th, next Wednesday.

T-Mobile version is totally different with International version and AT&T. AT&T version is identical to Unlocked Developer version and almost same as international version.
T-Mobile version has AWS Band and different LTE frequency and WiFi calling which is different kind of radio and ROM.\
So they have to create separate Forum anyway but i just don't know why they haven't create yet

I agree they should.

No need, the ATT One forum shouldn't even exist. TMOUS, EMEA LTE, and ATT are all M7_UL. Only Sprint needs another section, it is a different codename.

That was my thought? Why did they even make a ATT forum? I mean it's nice that they don't clog it up over here but really tmobile att and international should be the same forum they just have different radios flashed that's it (oh and some unfortunate branding on the back )

T-Mobile hardly ever does the branding on the back where it can be worn away over time. They like to do under the glass on the face so it's practically impossible to get rid of it. Either way, I wouldn't care, I get far superior service to everyone else besides Verizon where I live, so I'm perfectly happy carrying around something with their branding on it.

T-Mobile's HTC One does NOT have branding, that is a fact.

Your logic flies in the face of the reality that there is the AT&T forum and while they have been sold they've only just been shipped. XDA is usually really good about setting up the forum section for devices upwards a month before shipping. So with the T-Mobile version now around the corner we should see a merge or new section formed soon.

And that section could be subdivided into users with black/silver/red, right/left hand use, 32GB/64GB, locked/unlocked, straight/gay/lesbian which could be divided into many other subforums until someone happy with their own section starts crying why there are only two posts there.

yes sorry WCDMA , and they only give me 137.80 for it :/ not enough for a used galaxy.
I'm confused what the GSM galaxy nexus will offer over the GS II. Don't they both use the same HSPA+ / WCDMA frequencies, if you get the GSM version?
Regardless I think you will be extremely lucky if you can find a way to swap a Galaxy S II for a Galaxy Nexus. If you ever do find a way that by some miracle gets you a GSM Galaxy Nexus for a i777 straight over, do let us know.

I think your confused. You cant use any GSM phone on Verizon. Unless maybe its unlocked? Verizon is CDMA. Along with Sprint. GSM can be used with ATT and T Mobile. i777 is for ATT. Unless you have the International version i9100. Then you should be able to put a T Mobile sim in it.

Yes, you need a CDMA/LTE Galaxy Nexus for Verizon. The i777 will not work on Verizon.
None of AT&T's LTE phones will work on Verizon, even if unlocked. What AT&T calls 4G that isn't LTE, their HSPA+, is also referred to as WCDMA, plus their 3G is called WCDMA, but its not CDMA like Verizon or Sprint. If that wasn't confusing enough both AT&T and Verizon use 700 MHz LTE, but they are not using the same section of the 700 range so they are not interoperable. Unlike EDGE (2G) that is interopeable on AT&T vs T-Mobile. And some regions of AT&T and T-Mobile use the same 3G frequencies, so some 3G phones have limited functionality on both GSM networks.
Basic rule of thumb, for best results get a phone specifically made for your carrier.

Will you be buying an international version or an US version?

I'm in a dilemma in whether if I should buy the international version with the superior performing Exynos, or the US version with Snapdragon S4 with LTE. Although I've heard that one cannot really notice the performance difference in every day uses, I would like to go for the device with the best compatibility with the biggest development community. Please vote on which one would you be consider getting, as of now before either devices are released.
Please do NOT call yourself a developer unless you are capable of creating low level releases such as kernels and ROM. App developers and people who thinks they knows a lot about technology doesn't count.
its a little too soon to tell. i am still not totally convinced that the us is going to be stuck with the krait. att for one might work it with the exynos (you should change the tegra3 before you get pounced)... that is of course if the rumors are true that bell canada is gonna do lte with the quad.
personally i dont need lte and it is doubtful that att will have lte in nashville before my yearly upgrade. so i definitely want the quad core chip that samsung designed the phone around vs the krait that wasnt.

will Samsung sell the unlocked version here in the USA?
International for me no brainer. It will already be unlocked, will get the most developers and Cyanogenmod soonest, generally better resale value (of course, I don't get the subsidies, but I don't have to sign a contract either).
I won't feel too bad if I found out the American version with S4 chip would be faster or at least have better battery life.

nope. the carriers will not allow it. there is always amazon and ebay.
International version is not an option for me (no GSM coverage) so I have to wait for Sprint/Verizon to launch it. I am not happy about that
International version - I live in Europe...
I'm upset though that I'll have to wait a bit longer for the 32GB version as it won't be available in my country right away (or it will be overpriced)

International doesn't mean it's for a country other than your own, it means that it's for multiple countries.
Thus, it's the international.

No. The AT&T one doesn't fully support T-Mobile while the T-Mobile one fully supports BOTH T-Mobile and AT&T.
For people who don't want CDMA-based service, the T-Mobile version is the best one to buy for compatibility.

This has been discussed to death on the boards.
All the phones have the same internal radio hardware but what's been flashed to each device is different.
i got a att version unlock, big mistake for tmobile. i flashed tmobile rom and radio. alot of places in new york i get 2G which it was constant 4G with my note 2. Place where i get 4G i only get 7mbps. while with my note 2 i was able to get up to 18mbps. Order the tmobile version will return this one. The only reason i bought this is because they had it locally in ATT store while tmobile htc one is on backorder and not avail in any store.
Unfortunately Samsung doesn't just make the same model for both I would imagine it would save them money also but att phones work slow on T-Mobile but other way around your golden

Anyway, the T-Mobile One supports every band at&t does plus AWS. Unlocked and with the right APN, it will work flawlessly on at&t - in fact the T-Mobile software has almost no lag compared to at&t.

Thanks for the tip on that app. It still didn't fix the problem, but I figured out what my problem was. I was only able to get up to HSPA+ speeds since the APN settings for LTE would not work. When I put the LTE APN settings in, it would say there was a data connection issue and the settings were not correct.
After doing some additional research, I found that since the IMEI of the T-Mobile version is not in AT&T's database of LTE capable phones, my data provisioning on my account was locked in at only receiving HSPA+ speeds. My last phone was a T-Mobile HTC One S, which wasn't LTE capable, so it made no difference what the data provisioning was on my account. To make a long story short, I took my wife's HTC One X that she was not using any longer and had the AT&T phone rep put that phone on my account since it's capable of LTE and the IMEI is obviously in their catalog of devices.
After that, the settings worked immediately for my HTC One.
The more and more I look for help from AT&T, the more I realize that the company doesn't have many employees that are skilled in the way of assisting outside devices. Since T-Mobile welcomes customers to bring their AT&T devices to their network, I can only assume they would have figured this out a whole lot quicker.

Their policy on this seems to be very arbitrary. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart and paid outright for it, and then submitted the necessary info immediately to their SIM Unlock department. Here's the response I received from them a week later:

The Straight Talk service on my HTC One DEV had been decreased significantly since I reactivated it last month. Enough 0.16Mps download speed for me, so I decided to return the Dev version (due to some minor physical imperfections) and got a T-Mobile version.
As I read on the forum, the T-Mobile version of the One has all the bands that AT&T version doesn't. With military discount, I pay roughly 60 bucks per month for unlimited everything (only 15 bucks more from what I pay with Straight Talk). So this is a good deal for me.
Hopefully I have made a right choice

I'm thinking of grabbing the T-Mo version (I use T-Mo when roaming in the USA) if no one can figure out how to enable the AWS bands on my unit (like we could with Samsung)

it will be able to once the carriers make sim unlocking available. at&t and t-mobile are compatible, while sprint version isn't.

The Dev will work on T-Mobile LTE when that is available.
