Look closer before you laugh Its the TOP of the wallpaper that goes dark, or better to say
it's the top of the screen that goes black. If you change to the same wallpaper it will look
normal again for a few hours, but then graduatly getting darker. Has nothing to do with the
weather conditions, time of day, display settings or screen mode..
I have exactly problem the same and didn't find a reason..

Hi people!
I was just wondering: If my homescreen is black, would I save more battery than if my homescreen was colorful?
A silly question.

I do not think that applies to LCD screens, as I read that it blocks the pixel to form black.

based on those, looks like using black is same as white or even more power hungry than white.
Howeever on LED is opposite of course.

Yup AMOLED does... The screen doesnt uses the screen lid (Thats mean is totally black filling not greyish)... So 50-80% battery is save!

I found that the best thing to do is download a high res pic and then use photoshop to re-size without losing quality. You guys can use this one I re-sized as a test. It's pretty clean. If you have any pics you want re-sized, just post a link and I got you.
Turn off the water drop option in the lockscreen and it will look fine

Yeah just turn off the Ripple effect lockscreen. It makes any picture look like that because the ripple effect is showing the picture as being submerged in water.
Hi guys I've got this problem on the lock screen which only appears when I have ripple effect enabled ( see pic ) it is more noticeable on dark wallpapers '' I've flashed back to stock fw and the problem is still there the funny thing is it usedto be on the right side of my lock screen , now it's on the left ,, it's there whichever Rom I flash ,, system reset, , all manner of wipes , permission fixes , still there ,, I'm stating to think it's a hardware issue , if i turn ripple affect off the screen has no cloud even with pitch black wallpaper " everything is fine any ideas

Everybody has that. So don't worry too much. It's the ripple effect itself. You can disable it on the lockscreen option or put a lighter lock screen wallpaper. :good:

I like dark WPs too. It's beautiful plus it saves battery.
However, a group on samsung devs did a lousy job.

100+ wallpapers truth77 style
OK guys here are some wallpapers I've gathered that save battery and make your screen pop at the same time. I hope you all like them and if you download them just hit the thanks button! Not too much to ask right dafoxs!
why do they save battery?
Most of these wallpapers have deep black backgrounds and bright but soft neon colors.
Result: Less power use when screen brightness is up and eye catching wallpapers that show of you super sized HD amoled screens!
All wallpapers are HD and have different flavors for everyone's taste! I think lol!
I hope you guys enjoy and remember to hit thanks

Even if you make it happen, which is far fetched, Sony devices has LCD screens and the backlight will overheat and eat your battery like crazy

Wrong topic, this is no "Q/A" topic and it looks like yours is a question.
You peeps never learn it as in Xperia Neo/arc forum
