[Q][CM10] Remove white background in landscape mode - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I already searched Google and the Forum but I didn't find any help. The thing that bothers me is, that when you're in Landscape mode especially in WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger you don't actually write in the App but in a white Box which pops up. Is there a way to remove it? I'm using CM10 as stated in the title.
I hope I'm not breaking any rules while posting here since it's about CM10.

That is kind of thing that must be related to a keyboard input you're using, try 3rd party keyboards, as I remember GO Keyboard supports that.

thank you in advance I will try that

Music stops minutes after screen turns off

I don't understand why 2 minutes aprox the screen turns off.... the music stops.
I already verified In task manager the music application is not in auto-end list.
Any help?

i have the same problem.
So I had this problem for a while. I read on a different forum that there's a bug that links the gallery app to the music app.
Therefore, you need to make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill. Make sure you enable viewing of native apps.

Joelszs,
It works! Thanks.
I removed gallery from autoend list and then the music doesn't stop.
People this is the right solution!

This is awesome I was just about to post about this problem when I saw this. I thought it was something I had frozen in the system apps, glad I don't have to test each application individually that would've been a pain.
Glad I could save you the pain I had. That's why its so important we keep the atrix forums alive!

Spoke too soon, that didn't fix it for me. Oh well back to troubleshooting.

Any chance you could let me know which other system apps you have on the auto end list? I'm thinking it's still a problem with the auto end because it stops after the screen goes off, so it probably isn't a frozen app, or at least so I think
Try removing all apps from autoend list, and test again.
If works... only add to the list apps not related to music, video and pictures.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
it is still working for me as well. I haven't had a single instance of the problem in over two weeks.
Make sure that gallery is still off?

How do you make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill? Is there a special app for this or could this be found in the settings? Sorry for the newbie question. Thanks in advance.
If you open task manager and then press menu, there is an option listed to show all native apps, in addition to the ones you've downloaded. After you enable that, click on the auto end apps. section of tasks manager. gallery should be listed alongside the. camera, etc.

the important is that , MUSIC and Gallery are all not in autoend list.

hi guys
on my s3, when i look at all homescreens i have, my phone talks in a male voice saying "open homescreen page edit, and then from there when i click on any of the homescreen it says "work space and then..." the page number
how the hell do i disable this guy talking i dont want him, i dont know how this even happened
Remove all accessibility services (e.g. Lightflow) from the Android settings. It's a known bug.

Ive heard using go launcher gets around this
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
it was light flow that did it, uninstalled it as i dont wanna use any other launchers, thanks for the help. I there any led notification app i can use that doesn't have this problem?
Not if you have to add them as an accessibility service. Again, this is not Lightflow's fault. Any app added as an accessibility service causes this behavior.

How to show a line beneath bad spelled words like in iOS

Since I have my SGS3 a few weeks ago there's something missing and I don't know why. I'm talking about the in line spell checking.
In ICS when you misspell a word a red dotted line appears underneath that word, so you can easily see the mistake and fix it. This is also present in iOS.
Why don't we have that on our SGS3? I really need it to easily check for any mistakes when writing emails and other stuff.
Right now there is no way to see when a word is incorrectly written. I have to re-read all my text again to see if it's correct and it takes to long compared to just looking for the red dots.
It's it just me or is there a way of enabling this feature? I downloaded the ICS keyboard from the market and it doesn't have this much needed feature.
I don't understand why no one seems to find this to be a problem.

It's sImple. because you so lazy to explore.. it's in the keyboard setting.

No its not. Ive gone over different keyboard settings many many times looking for it and I havent seen any option to enable this. If you know it tell me which setting it is exactly.

Anyone? There must be a way to enable this feature.

samsung keyboard, settng, predictive text, spell correction
Thanks but that's not what I mean. I still don't get any visible sign on a misspelled word. I'm not talking about spell checker.
What I want is something like iOS when you misspell a word and a red dotted line appears beneath the word. That way it's very easy to check for misspelled word on very long notes.
I think I saw this same feature on the ICS keynote. A line appears beneath the mistakes word and it gives you a list of optional words to change to.
This does not appear on my SGS3. Maybe it's because it's not stock Android. How can I get this?
Thanks.

No, no, no. It doesn't need to work like iOS. I'm saying that stock Android has this feature but I don't see it on the SGS3 and that is weird. Stock Android shows you a line beneath any word misspelled. Why not the SGS3?
There has to be a way to show it.

What? He doesn't want all of android to be like iOS just. A feature that is present in stock ICS & jb ROMs. I have it in cm10 I guess Samsung removed it. You could always flash cm9/cm10.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Use the aosp keyboard, get it from a cm or cm10 rom zip.
look in system/app folder.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I would like that feature to lol I'm a terrible speller and have to figure it out with autocorrect.
Another reason why I will have to root I suppose.
-JOSH-
Here is latinIME.apk from CM10
http://db.tt/cGyzndc9
Download it and use a root explorer to move it to system/app

Why dont you try to download the ics keyboard from the play store. It is similar to one present in stock ics and cm....it should give what you want...

I've already downloaded the ICS and JB keyboards and still that feature is not present. It's not present strangely on any keyboard: Swype, swiftkey, go keyboard, etc. It's actually really weird. It's an essential feature and it comes with stock Android. I don't know if this problem is only with Samsung or if HTC has it too.
Will moving the keyboard file to system really work? I will try it.
My last resort would be to use CM10 I guess.

Anyone else getting 'shaky letters' on Flipboard app?

Did anyone notice the "moving letters" on the flipboard app?
Watch a normal text on this app and you'll get this shaky letters....just like the phone is trying to sync the display after zooming...if you know what I mean...
Is this app-related...?
Any thoughts?
TIA
Not moving for me .
jje
Clarify 1st. Do you mean zooming causing the shaky letters or the problem just happens randomly while you reading?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
while reading text. without prior zooming or so.
its like system is trying some antialiasing stuff...i cannot describe it any better
Mine looks good. All letters sharp and not 'shaky'. Maybe u can try reinstall or maybe your eyes are too tired

[Q] video app with similar stock features?

I want to put an AOKP rom on my phone but there are a few little things I like about the stock Samsung Android apps. For one I like the smart alarms on the Samsung clock app but I've got that covered. I also like the video app that gives you a button to rotate the screen even if you have auto rotate off which I usually do. Is there an app that anyone knows of on the marketplace that can do this like stock?

Yeah I noticed it after I posted it but figured it would pretty much be the same for either phone considering it's an app alternative so I didn't bother switching it over lol.
