Hi,
I have an Acer liquid Metal, on ginger, rooted.
The smartphone once time rooted, was good, during many weeks...
After the last change of hour ( i say it, but i don't know if there any coinsidence), my smartphone who was on automatique date/hour, was always bloqued in flight mode.
If i change the mode, it will be good during seconds, and back in flight mode.
I have changed it, in manual mode, i put the time and date, and now it stay in Gsm mode, all is correct.
But when i put on my smartphone, it run under flight mode, i must change it, put in gsm mode, and it stay like that.
But the problem, is at each power up, i must begin this operation.
If anyone have a solution, it will be with pleasure !

No there is no safe mode that i am aware of, you'll have to boot into recovery then do a full wipe unless someone else knows an easier way....
Yes there is a safe mode.
I somehow found it this morning.
Phone was off in my suit pocket, i turned it on whilst in the pocket and when I took the phone out (around 5 mins later) it was in safe mode.
Now how do I know this, well it was quite clear.......at the bottom left of the screen it actually says 'SAFE MODE', this appeared on every screen and I noticed that certain apps on my home screen were then missing too.
To get rid of it, i turned the phone off, took the battery out and then restarted the phone.
EDIt--- found it.....power on phone and hold menu and back at the same time

Quick question...when i use to turn on my GTab...it would turn on..and i would be connected to my WiFi. But now..when it turns on..i have to go into settings..and click turn on WiFi...THEN it will connect. How can i get it back like it use to be?
No one knows???????????
I see you're using vegantab, did you use airplane mode? There's a glitch on almost all roms where you turn on airplane mode and you can't deactivate it, even if you turn it off and turn it back on, the tablet will show airplane mode as deactivated but in reality its still on, thats why everytime that you turn on your tablet, you need to turn on wifi. I tried telling people about this problem, but no one seems to care. All gingerbread roms have this problem and some froyo roms.
Strange..ive NEVER touched airplane mode. NEVER. Could i have bumped it somehow and not know??? I doubt that. I would see. Lets say i did...no other way to undo this? But then again..lets say i didnt...why it just start doing this out of no where?
Well the airplane mode problem is what it seemed to me based on the symtoms of the problem, the only way i've been able to get rid of it is to re-install the rom and wipe data & cache

I can not find an alarm application that turns on the mobile!!
For years i' ve set the alarm, turn off the phone and went to bed.
In the morning the phone turned on and alarmed.
Is there any application that can do that?
Thanks in advanced.
Smartphones are not able to do that because their system (in this case "Android") is like a real system of a computer. I don't think computers do that, do they? There is nothing that can make your phone boot up to ring the alarm.
Instead of shutting down your phone, why don't you turn on airplane mode instead? It's almost like turning off the phone.
That's bad. I hope somewhere in the future this change. And, by the way, there is any app that can auto turn off the app?

Crap!
Well your idea for airplane mode is not bad, although is not the same with the off-situation.
Thanks anyway.

Actually they do that, just a little yes in the BIOS and it works well, about an Android phone doing that, i think its possible, haven't had the need for it yet, but just for testing purposes will see few things and report back

Computers can do this so easy!
Really? They can? Oh, then I'm sorry about the misinformation, but still, Android can't boot to ring the alarm.
My smartphone wakes up automatically!
I'am apologize to bring this old topic on top, but I've also search on the internet which android smartphone would wake up when completly off for an alarm and there is not much information, so i wanted to put my experiences.
Because I didn't find any Information about that on the Internet, i've try myself in a Shop with demo phone. Results, the HTC One series and ALCATEL One Touch Series DOES wake up when turned off. Samsung phones had bad on that point. Of course i didn't try every smartphones...
I've bought an ALCATEL One Touch Mini 6012X... Alarm wake up the phone (maybe into a special mode just for alarm but looks very similar). There is also an option to turn off and turn ON the phone every day at a specific time.
So i hope, poeple would understand that smartphone could automatically wake up...
Bye
Hello.
Last night I was riding my bike through São Paulo. Then I passed into a pothole. I was listening to the radio. After that, the radio turned off. I didn´t stop to solve the issue. When I arrived to my destination, I took my mobile and it was on a safe mode. Some of my apps wasn´t on the desktop at all. Yes, I rebooted and everything went well.
But my question is: what is, how can I acess and what the purpose of the safe mode?
I'm trying the old methods by holding menu and home or just menu while it's booting and can't get into safe mode so they must have changed the key combo, but anyway Safe mode is the same as on Windows so you can boot up if you get stuck in a boot loop and need to fix it.
I see, thanks for trying. But I want to understand what happen last night!
Your best bet is to Google Android + safe mode. The same thing happened to me yesterday, but it happened after trying to open a website while I only had a bad connection only at Edge.. Apparently there's a belief that there may have been a corrupt app installed & yesterday there were a bunch of new app updates from Google, so maybe just the amount of updates caused one to get corrupted?
After rebooting twice, everything came back, except that the widgets on the desktop failed to load.
Rather than mess around I just did a nandroid restore (I do a nandroid backup almost every night & then delete the older ones every few days).
