Question on Wifi Tethering - Nokia Lumia 800

Hello Everyone,
I have one question on Wifi Tethering, I am using Nokia Lumia 800 (7.8) and I know I can tether my data connection to my laptop using internet sharing option.
But what if I want to do the opposite of this? I mean I have internet connection on my laptop using a LAN cable and the modem which I am using does not have Wifi, but my laptop has wifi. So is there a way to connect my lumia 800 to my laptop via wifi to access the internet on my lumia 800?
Thanks in advance

If you have windows 7 or 8 on pc, you can install free app connectify and create a hotspot from your laptop)

X10 - connecting to the internet?

Hello everyone!
Got the X10 recently and want to connect it to the internet to get the contacts on via Gmail and to set up device overall.
- I cannot use my network operator's internet because it's waaay too expensive.
- There are no WiFi hotspots nearby.
So... How can I connect X10 to the internet? I tried AdHoc with my laptop, but later found out that X10 needs to be rooted first, so one could enable AdHoc connecting.
I've also tried Conectify and VirtualRouter applications, but I cannot use them, hardware limitation. Only AdHoc supported.
So I ran out of ideas. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

are you high
it is not possible. Unless you are able to tether your internet in which you made this post, then you are screwed

You need to have Win 7 in order to make Adhoc wi-fi connection on the laptop. That way the laptop becomes like a wi-fi hotspot.

Go to settings -> Wireless and network -> Tethering and portable hotspot -> Then select "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" - From this you can set up a Wi-Fi network that uses your mobile internet.
Once you've set this up connect to the wireless network via your laptop and launch the app called "Kies air". From there you can transfer files without the need of the usb connector...
To use DLNA you need a wireless network, i wouldn't recommend using the portable Wi-Fi hotspot for it.
Thank you very much Stylee32 this helps
hope i will get my WiFi router soon
Edit: I tried this solution. Got my PC connected to Mobile. But the url which Kies Air gave didnt work
Edit 2: Finally it worked. Thank you so much
No problem at all, glad i could help

Firstly this is a question so should be placed in the Q & A section.
Secondly does your laptop has wifi ? if yes there are software like Connectify which share the lan/DSL connection by turning your laptop into a wifi hotspot Google them and you'll have your solution.
Also they are free

Just disable the LAN cards/adapters of your PC/Laptop without WiFi adapter...
