Okay, so I have a CDMA Unrooted Evo 3D. A few days ago I had to bring it to Sprint to get it wiped since after the Sprint boot up the screen was showing nothing. About half an hour ago when I turned the phone on after I unlock I get the Process.Android.Acore and the Gapps process force closing. I have fastboot on since I was unsure if I wanted to root or not. Are there any alternatives to getting it wiped again at Sprint? I've tried removing the battery and restarting it.

If the wiping process Sprint does it only a wipe of data and not a reinstallation of anything, you have access to that same data wipe process.
The data wipe function will basically erase everything held on the /data partition of the phone. When the phone is turned on for the first time, ideally the /data partition is empty. This is how Android is designed. As the phone is setup, used, customized, 3rd party apps added, settings saved, etc, all of these things are stored on the /data partition. This centralization of settings/customizations makes it very easy/simple to completely reset the device.
There are two methods on the CDMA EVO 3D to access this data wipe function:
1) From Android mode, Settings -> SD & phone storage -> Factory data reset (at the very bottom). HTC added this feature to their Sense version of Android as I don't recall this being present in the AOSP version.
2) Using vol down + pwr, select recovery from the menu. Once in this screen, press vol up + pwr and it the stock recovery menu should appear. One of the options should be Factory Reset / Data wipe. This would be the option to wipe all data on the phone.
Hope that helps!
Hi friends, my Atrix just resets this morning when i use gps application, i entered pin and it works for a half hour and do that again, maybe 5-6 times, then i enter cwm flash it again with 2.3.6 fruitcake, everything pass but it stucks on boot logo and restart again and again, i tried 2.3.4 fruitcake same thing, just motorola pulse logo and restart by itself
Can i do something about that, please help me?
Did you wipe dalvik/cache?
always do that, wipe data anda factory, cache and dalvik
before i try to flash i make a backup, try to restore, error restoring
my atrix its get real hot sometimes, but this morning whe this happend it was ok
i was driving and hold it by hand, i forget my holder for car, use gps about one half hour and its reset and then after 5 minutes maybe, then again half hour maybe till its just boot to home screen and resets
try to restore, error restoring, try to install new 2.3.6 fruitcake webtop, it installs but cant go after moto pulsing screen
EDIT
i think i have some problem connected to sd card, i finally instal mrom, bu i cannot backup it, sd card error, then i put fruitcake, canoot install, error in sd card (status 7), i try with 2 diferent sd cards, same thing, on both i can install zip but only mrom, on both i can see fruitcakes 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 but cannot install them???
it says
file_getprop:failed to stat: system/build,prop:no such file or directory
E: error in /sdcard/234-web-realse.zip
Are you wiping everything before you flash?
For Atrix resets, try a fruit cake with radio 1.77.38P

Hi, I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and everything was working fine. A couple of months later, I put the tablet in airplane mode because I didn't want to drain the battery when I wasn't at home. When I got home and removed it off airplane mode, the device appeared to be frozen so I held the power down to restart it; this normally fixed most issues I've had with it.
Only this time, it boots to the screen with the Samsung logo and is just stuck there. I was wondering since I did root my tablet, is there any way to restart it properly without doing a factory reset which will cause me to lose all my data/apps, etc...
Did you try to restart device from recovery?
Could you please describe what you mean by boot to recovery?
Hold power+volume down, you will be directed to recovery, there choose reboot device, if that wont help try factory reset, or flash stock rom through Odin
Any solutions that would not wipe the data?
If not is there a way for me to access the data and save it prior to me doing the factory wipe like hooking it up to my pc and transferring the data?
I have recovery but noticed I never took a backup. I am wondering if I did a backup now and did a factory wipe; would it wipe out the recovery/root? If not; would I be able to restore the backup and get my data back?
I tried the wiping cache but no luck; still just goes to the logo screen and no further.

I had this same problem on my tab. However, I just got out of it using the RECOVERY mode as was explained above.
It will not wipe your data. Just choose the option to reboot the system and that will fix it for you. I had same concern about wiping my data so when I saw that reboot option, I selected it and it has helped to rectify my issues. My tab has finally boot completely and I'm once again able to use my tab.
Recently I've been unable to install an apk that I had before. My phone crashed and did a random reboot and when it turned on again it stayed on ''Android is Upgrading'' screen; later I know that just one application dissapeared from my phone and from that when I try to install it by using apk file android says that application couldn't be installed. Is there any reason for this or a thing which lost during the upgrade? Weird is that all my applications remained after that but just one got lost or stayed broke so I can't install later. Fixes, issues or anybody?
Try rebooting into recovery and clearing your cache. Google your phone model and recovery. Then click clear cache and reboot.
I have an unlocked (but not rooted) ATT S4 active that I have been using on Cricket.
It now refuses to boot; just displays the ATT globe.
I can hold vol-down, power, and home and boot into a screen the warns me of the danger of booting a custom OS.
I can also hold vol-up, power, and home and, after a blue “recovery booting” appears, boot into a screen which at the top says
Android system recovery
LRX22C.I537UCUC0C7
And then the selection menu:
reboot system now
apply update from adb
apply update from external storage
apply update from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
reboot to boot loader
power down
view recovery logs
Enable cp logging
Disable cp logging
I have tried wiping both the cache and the data (factory reset) to no avail.
Although it could be a hardware issue, I suspect it had to do with an app that started loading from a repo other than Google. I stopped it but it started generating errors; when I tried to reboot, it wouldn’t.
Since it is practically bricked, I see little downside to loading a later ROM, even with no ability to backup what was there. I have installed Android development and ADB on my Linux box but don’t see how to proceed. All of the help postings I see assumes that I can root the machine after the machine boots; I never get that far.
I have looked for help but haven’t seen anything. (I’ve tried to RTFM!) Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
