[Q] Nokia Lumia 920 - Remove Sideload Limit - Nokia Lumia 920

Hi,
I have developer unlocked Nokia Lumia 920 device.
How do I remove sideload limit? (I think it's 10 apps and it's really annoying)

Its not possible.

Not possible YET?
On WP7, it is possible to do it by editing registry value.
But I think it requires higher privileges than developer unlock, something like interop unlock or full unlock.
So I have to do interop unlock first, which is not possible yet on WP8, right?

yes, it is not possible YET, but there no implication that it will ever.

We do not have registry access to WP8 and who knows if we ever will, it's locked down pretty tight.
If we had registry access then there are a TON of things that we would be able to do and lots of odd problems that could be fixed, but registry access is just not possible at the moment.

[Q] Is it possible to exploit IE Tango bug

Hi,
I'm not a dev, neither a hacker (what ever it means) but
i know that we could archive jailbreak using OS bug (As done in Comex's jailbreak on iphone trough PDF injection)
and i was wondering if it was possible to use this bug with the Nokia Lumia series (800 & 900) injecting some arbitrary code ?
Thanks in advance
Supercairos !
It's not a bug per-say. It's more about the browser improperly managing memory.
That is what I understood from reading the articles about it anyway as I still don't have Tango.

[Q] Upgrading from 7.8

Hi All,
I'm planning to get the Nokia 920. I've had Samsung Focus (original) since WP7 first launched and have many apps that I've bought.
How does it work upgrading from WP7.5 to WP8?
I know somewhere online on the WP7 site, there is a list of all apps. Is there an easy way to re-download those apps or do I have to search and download them individually? Also, what about other stuff on the phone?
Is there an easy way to back-up and upgrade to Nokia 920?
I've heard about WP8 not supporting Zune and am kind of confused how it works.
Has anybody here upgraded from 7.5 to WP8?

You can redownload your apps from the web. when you goto your previous purchase's you can "send to phone" in order for it to redownload on the phone.
Also, for purchases you can click buy on the phone as if you were going to buy it again and it will give it to you again for free.

As far as Zune, Zune has died. Its been replaced in part by Xbox Music. If you had a Zune Pass, it converted to an XBOX Music pass. You can check out the details over at Xbox.com/music.
WP8 does not use Zune to sync anymore. Its a convoluted method but there are multiple ways to get music over to your phone. They involve a new( but not better) content syncing app, and the Cloud.
In general, all your old content should play ok from Zune to Xbox and onto the phone. Some people have had problems and MS is looking into what resolution are available.
Phone updates are now handled OTA and do not require being plugged into an app....that we know of yet.
The general concept of Xbox music is ok. With Cloud based streaming, and availability across all devices, its a good idea. Implementation has been...less than awesome, yet. I've had very few problems with it...but some people have...
Anyway, in general, you shouldn't have a problem.
I see that online on the WP7 website, it shows my WP7 purchases - unfortunately, it doesn't load up all the apps that I have downloaded. Seems like it shows on the paid apps. I have a bunch of free apps and it would be a major pain to try and find them all and install them again on the new phone.
Anybody find a better way to do this?

[Q] Lumia 920 with MTP and Linux

Hi,
it may seem a bit like a strange question but I want to know if there is somebody out there who got the 920 to work with Linux as MTP device.
What I want to achieve is simply moving some music from my Linux system to the Lumia 920.
I think there's some sort of authentication or negotiation stage that needs to be done. Straight MTP doesn't work.
So I've read on the web somewhere.

Get App Off of One WP7 and Put It On Another WP7?

I had this really nice voice to text app that would give you the option to send the spoken text to Twitter or any email account . It was amazing for using in the car AT RED LIGHTS.
I no longer see it in the market place but have it on my old Focus. I want to put it on my new Focus S.
Is there a way to do this?
Of course if your focus is unlocked and focus s at least developer unlock.
If so, install Program Manager on ur old focus and make xap with it any app you want and then just copy it to your pc and now it depends on what unlock you have on your focus s so that way you run through, if developer unlock you install xap to your new phone with some kind of Microsoft app. Development kit or sth like this, I'm on phone now so you can easier search for it

Nokia Beamer

Hi,
I want to try the app on my nokia lumia 520, my phone is dev unlocked, but i can't find the Nokia Beamer xap. Can anyone help me?
Thank you,
Medve
Nokia Photo Beamer is on Nokia market.
Nokia Photo Beamer: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/app/photobeamer/971c41e5-3596-4a7a-ba2c-bcd7780d7db5
Nokia Beamer: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/app/nokia-beamer/b5511af6-cbd0-4945-9bf6-30cf0582043f
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Nokia Beamer only works on devices with 1 GB of RAM or higher. Those devices get Nokia Beamer automatically with the Lumia Black update or, in the case of newer devices with Lumia Black, ship with it installed by default.
Thanks,
Yes, you know correctly, but i want to try It, but the Lumia 520's got only 512mb RAM. I heard if i Dev. Unlock my Phone, I can install aps, wich need more Power. I downloaded the XAP from the Marketplace, but it's encrypted, and the SDK app deployment won't deploy to my Phone. So I need the decrypted XAP, or maybe an another method. Can anyone upload the decrypted XAP( if you downloaded the Nokia Beamer from the Marketplace, It Will be on your Phone.) or write an another method?
OR any alternative instead?
Thank you,
Medve

Dev unlock only allows you to sideload apps that use tier 3 capabilities (which is the same as most of the apps published in the store), so you gain nothing in terms of "power", just the ability to sideload homemade apps.

We can't just pull decrypted XAPs from our phones... You need interop unlock for that (and possibly more), and so far that's only achieved on Samsung phones. Your best chance is to get someone with an unlocked Samsung device to install Beamer by using the proxy trick, then posting the XAP so you can sideload. But be aware this can potentially create new issues - it's an OEM app, so it probably uses capabilities not covered by dev unlock (which means you won't be able to sideload).
Or you can just try the proxy trick yourself. Change the device model to something with 1GB and it should be available for download.

Thanks, but can you help me with? I'm New in WP, I've got android before.
Thank you,

Do a google search on how to trick the store into thinking you own a different device than you actually do. The tutorial may even be on this forum, so have a look around...
Quite possible that it still checks for the RAM requirement when it's launched, even if you manage to install it.
Even when people run games like Temple Run 2 on 512 MB RAM devices, sideloaded, the XAP needs to be modified and have that check removed, or they will not launch, as far as I know. No idea on how this is done or even how the people who do this get their hands on decrypted XAPs, though.

Yeah, that's quite possible. But there's really no way of knowing without trying...
Thanks for the help
I found 2 proxy servers, but they are unavalibe. Are you know working proxy servers?
I heard if the phone dont't have the minimum amount of RAM, I can't install the app with proxy trick. It is true?
Thank you,
Medve

You can use fiddler to set up your own computer as a proxy...
IIRC the store doesn't specifically check for the amount of RAM the device has, only model, firmware and OS version, etc. and then makes conclusions based on that. So if you tell the store you have, say a 1520 instead of the 520, the store will assume your phone has 2 GB of RAM.

I'm again,
So I tried to find any videos and writings about proxy servers, but I didn't found. Can you link me a video or write a guide?
Thank you,

Can't install Lumia beamer on my 822.
