I want to disable LTE but there is no option. I used to do it on my viper rom HTC One X, but can't figure it out on this phone.
I also can't seem to get adb locking to stick. I've tried adaway and adblock plus with no success.

Yes, sorry should have mentioned that. Bootloader unlocked, rooted and twrp installed.
I also did the fix permissions thing on twrp.

Look for the rom Trickdroid. It looks like it has some of these features you are looking for.
Try the app lucky patcher. Should disable the annoying adds. Gotta be rooted of course

i think since we dont yet have S-OFF, the application cant read or write system files or something. upon reboot it will just reset to normal.
(correct me if im wrong)
I use Elixer Widget and the "WiMAX (4G)" toggle.
I goes into "Phone Info". The default selection in"GMS/WCDMA/LTE Auto". I assume you change it to "WCDMA preferred" to use only 4G. Please correct me if Im wrong.
AdAway is a great ad blocker. Google removed it from the play store a few weeks ago. Google f-droid(app store for apps that aren't on Google play), install f-droid all, search for AdAway(no space between words) and install.

Any suggestions for a bone stock HTC One for an ad blocker? Mine is only a day old. And, searching results in nada.
Thanks all
The stock Rom s do not have writing enabled to system so ad blocking does not stick.
Check out the Scotts stock rooted options he enabled writing to system.

You can also install CleanRom 2.5. It includes ad blocker (choose during aroma installer)
Hope this helps!
I am using stock unrooted ATT version, I disable LTE by:
Open phone dialer
Type manually (cannot be done by saving to contact and dialing)

Is there a way to turn off just 4g LTE on newts one xxx? I live in mostly 3g area and don't want the battery drain from the phone searching for LTE signal. I know how to use the menu and change from global to gsm to cdma/lte, but I can't find the option to turn off LTE only of there is one.

no problem. I am using the same rom. It is super smooth now that I removed the ottrbox defender from my rezound. It was cauing my screen to go black when I tried to get things open sometime. I have the otterbox commuter coming.
I finally upgraded from the rls 3.2.1. Ive been on it two days now and I love it. It's super smooth, noticed no lag yet running funky's 1.5 kernel because I like the fast charge since I'm only near a car charger most of the day. But battery life is really good, better than 3.2.1. The only problem I had was the 4g, but ya'll showed me the solution. Newt has arguably the best sense roms out here.

Hey all - Just a simple mod to enable native wifi hotspot for ATT users who are stock/rooted. Flashable in recovery.
wfhs2 is from 1.26.502.10
wfhs3 is from 3.17.502.3 (4.3)
Flash in Recovery (TWRP and CWM should both work), wipe caches (cache and dalvik), reboot.
Will this alert ATT that I am using hot spot? I don't mean the whole packet analysis thing, but will it directly alert them that I am using hotspot? Thanks

Nope. Honestly those are the only two things I did other then unlock, root, cwm recovery. Absolutely nothing else.
The hot spot starts fine, it shows up in people's network, they just hang when trying to connect. I tried on three other smart phones and iPad. With and with out each protection on.
Here is what I'm running. This is what the phone came with.

if you unlock your bootloader you can enable this via a tweak for the rom trickdroid. In fact there are multiple batteries to chose from. See the link below:

That would be amazing. I would also like to stay on stock and just have white numbers showing the percentage instead of the battery icon. Maybe some sort of charging indicator.
Thank you so much.
For those not wanting to flash tweaks, or change roms (or your still stock w/ locked bootloader)the best option IMO is GSAM battery.
It has a theme you can add (.99) that allows you to overlay a percentage over your battery icon. I had it before I flashed trickdroid. This is what it looked like

What if we want the international do we just install as international phone or apply a mod over top cause i hate the american way of 4g and 4g lte. 4g is not 4g it hspa
Does anyone know how to trick it into installing the international icons? I hate the ATT icons. They don't fit in with the rest of the phone. The international ones just go with the phone.

It looks like you are limited to 300KB MMS messages with that rom. AT&T allows 1000KB max size MMS messages.
