i717 4.2.2 bluetooth keyboard rom? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

can anyone tell me of a 4.2.2 rom for the i717 that is reasonably stable and has bluetooth keyboard support? I haven't tried a rom yet that allows me to pair and then use my bluetooth keyboard (pairing goes well but then it never connects once it's paired). i've tried a few bluetooth keyboards as well from apple and motorolla (both of which work with 4.1.2 on the same hardware).
help?

Does nobody here care about keyboard support? If so, i'll be happy to stfu and be happy with 4.1 with working bluetooth, but if anyone has any information as to the status of bluetooth keyboard support, i'd be particularly thankful to hear it.

I have a clamshell keyboard I can try with slimbean I'm running, but honestly I don't think anyone really uses a keyboard with their phone. I'll try in the morning and get back to you.

Have you gotten a BT Mouse to work in any 4.2.2 ROM? That's what I'm interested in. I haven't used any 4.2.2 ROM yet that has working BT Mouse/Keyboard. They both use the HID (Human Interface Device) BT profile, which in general seems borked in 4.2.2 ROMs.

I have not gotten a bluetooth mouse to work either up to about a month ago (I haven't tried any new roms lately). if anyone would be so awesome as to give us an update with a modern rom build (sometime in the past couple weeks) as to the status of HID support (keyboards and mice) I would be particularly grateful.
Thanks!

sadly I report as of cm nightly 5/2 bluetooth hid support, including support for keyboards and mice doesn't work and fails identically to the way it fails on every other 4.2.2 rom i've tried on the i717... very disappointing that I can either use an old rom and have my keyboard work which i use every day for email and instant messaging, or I can use a new rom which generally works great but has no support for something that makes my life easy every day... sadly, I'm stuck on 4.1.2 slimbean for now.

Once again I've gone testing 4.2 roms and once again I'm surprised and appalled about the lack of bluetooth HID keyboard / mouse support in all of the 4.2 roms i've tested. I'm up to 5 different roms now that have exactly the same problem of seeming to pair but then fail to connect once paired. on other devices, even on straight cyanogenmod the bluetooth keyboard functionality works flawlessly. I have an original galaxy tab (p1000) running an alpha 4.2 build with flawless bluetooth support and that rom seems even more fast and stable than those i've found for the i717 which is leaps and bounds better (double the memory, almost tripple the cpu power). something is clearly amiss.

As it has yet again been another month, I again ask the development and tester community here if anyone has seen a rom with working bluetooth support. anybody? Buller? buller? J/K.

Use TW JB based Roms.
CM10.1 doesn't have bluetooth support worked out yet, so any roms based on CM will not have BT working.
I am not too sure about other roms, but I believe it will be similar stories.

I know one that might work.....pm me

for the benefit of the community, and not to insult the kind efforts of shayneflashindaily, but it didn't work. I'm still looking for a 4.2 rom with working bluetooth keyboard support, or at this point maybe a 4.3 rom with working bluetooth keyboard uspport. *frustrated sigh*

4.3 isnt ready mang

I know, that was my point. That it will take a long time. Heck its been about what? 8 months since 4.2 Roms came out (that broke BT keyboard use)...

If you want everything working, like bluetooth keyboard support, you gotta go back to the stable version, like 4.1.2. You can't keep asking about 4.2 or 4.3 (which isn't even ready).
BT is a known issue with 4.2, and I am sure the developers are working to get it fixed. You won't have to ask for it. And when 4.3 is finally out, which might be months away from now, I am expecting more problems than 4.2 initially.
You can ask and look all you want, but the simple answer is already in front of you. USE 4.1.2.

What about an otg cable and a wireless keyboard?

That could work but I already have a BT keyboard that I really like already and I don't know where I can get a full sized keyboard that is small enough to fit in my cargo pants pocket. Then again, I suppose in a pinch I could buy a small apple USB keyboard and an otg cable but the total on that would be in the $70 range and would preclude me from simultaneously using my mhl to HDMI adapter.

I really am sorry for beating a seemingly dead horse like a matching band drummer but in the hopes of keeping hope alive I once again reach out to the community to see if anyone has come across a4.2 or 4.3 ROM with working Bluetooth keyboard support?
Thank you!

FWIW I am experiencing the same problem with my SGH-t989. No keyboards, no videogame controllers. I just hate that cm abandoned 4.1.2 development. Although they keyboard works, it has bugs that 10.1 does not have.

Still looking for a ROM with android 4.2+ that has working Bluetooth keyboard support.
None of the many 4.2 or 4.3 builds ive tested has working Bluetooth keyboard which is a requirement for me as I use my note to constantly take class notes in Evernote and do screenplay writing now and then as well.
Perhaps one of the new experemental 4.4 builds?

do any of the gingerbread roms support tvout? miui and cm7 don't yet.
JVP versions do.
Try Blitzkrieg.
do either of those support bluetooth controllers? I just want a rom that supports bluetooth controllers and tvout.

it's one or the other, but not both.
the only roms that support bluetooth controlers are the AOSP based ones, while the samsung based roms support tv out.
you can't have your cake and eat it too.

[Q] [q] aosp bluetooth stack roms with mhl support?

Ive search high and low on xda developers to find a rom with a aosp bluetooth stack and mhl cable support. My plan is to use the Sixaxis Controller app with the mhl cable but so far ive only been able to find roms that do only one of those functions.
Also is there anyway to install a new bluetooth stack and the Original XXKG firmwares.
Would appreciate any help.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2, Running MIUI.
That's something many gamers wish... but after a few months without any luck I think the only way is to buy a specific gamepad like phonejoy, etc. as long as CM (and MIUI consequently) doesn't support mhl yet. And maybe never...
The cool thing could be something like you are talking: someone making a stock rom but with aosp bluetooth drivers instead of samsung ones
Edit: I write from the complete ignorance, and don't know if it's easy to do or even possible. Please excuse me if i'm saying something stupid
I too am wondering
If one could just copy the AOSP bluetooth over the stock roms we would have the best of both worlds
The bluetooth stack in Cyanogenmod 7 works with sixaxis. I used my ps3 controller to play my emulated games.
Although I do perfer non-aosp, as the kernel/rom selection is better and the touchwiz apps are better (IMO) . I cant live without fm radio.
If any devs could add find a way to get the aosp bluetooth stack on a non aosp rom, we would all be very grateful.
I want to bump/1 up this thread
I am using lite'ning rom 6.1 and I really love this rom, but at the same time I want to be able to use my ps3 controller so thumbs up for anyone who can do this, even information on how to or why it's not currently done would be nice, my brother knows a bit about programming if we knew where to look maybe we could try to do it ourselves. I really want to see this done. I know it's possible somehow!

Prime or ISC working with apple bt keyboard/mouse problem

problem using apple bt keyboard mouse with prime latest ISC. they will pair but non functional. I have used the keyboard with cyanogenmod 7 on glacier phone, which worked great. also saw youtube video of it working fine with galaxy nexus ICS. if ICS isn't the problem, prime is to blame. has anyone used apple keyboard mouse on it? thanks,.
I also tried apple keyboard but t only connects and is not functional
Can anyone try to test this with Apple's Magic Trackpad? I'm guessing it won't work if the keyboard or mouse hasn't had much luck, but I have seen the trackpad work great on a galaxy nexus which also runs ICS, so I'm curious if that might have more luck.
The Magic Trackpad does the same thing, it connects but its not functional.

keyboard works great with my mytouch4g. mouse pairs but doesn't work.
mine too
I also cant use apple keyboard with prime
My Apple BT Keyboard has worked fine since the first day I got this....I'm on .15 now and BCOKA.
Let me try to replicate the steps I used to get it working.
On my GS2 the Apple BT keyboard had issues typing the ( and ) key - basically anything that required a shift. It acted as a CAPS lock key, that is, shift once puts everything in caps or numerical. So I'd press shift 9 and everything would be in capitals. then i'd hit shift 0 and get a 0 at the end of the (text0.
But on the prime, for me at least, it works perfectly well. As a matter of fact, I'm typing on it right now. Let me see or remember how I did it.

Jellybean and Bluetooth audio

Tried a few of the JB ROMs lately and they all connect to my ford Touch/sync with a "Bluetooth audio stream detected" rather than providing interactive play/pause rw/ff buttons. Audio plays but has to be managed from the device.
Anyone else seen this and know a solution?
Headphones interact fine over Bluetooth.

It works perfect on my car stereo. I'm running JamieD81's Jelly Bean ROM. I don't think there's anything new.
Is it the kernel or the modem or something else that controls the modem signal? I was on King-Kang and enjoying life with Bluetooth but updated to one of the JB ROMs and ever since I don't get play/pause rw/ff controls from my car.
I've even gone back to King-Kang and Emily(GB) ROMs which from my About Phone installs different kernels and basebands(modem?) still nothing.
The phone updates are the only thing different. No updates to the car, no setting changes -I'm the only driver of it.
Thanks for any help.

[Question] Atrix as Mediastation with Media-Dock?

Hi Guys,
as I'm thinking of getting a new phone sooner or later, I was thinking how to use my Atrix and my Multimedia-Dock later on.
I never used the Lapdock mode or HDMI mirroring, but I bought the multimedia dock because it was really cheap and I can use my Atrix as a digital clock also.
So please forgive me if I'm asking questions that only work with the lapdock mode
My idea is:
I want to use the Atrix as a media-station for music (on storage and streaming).
As the multimedia dock as a 3,5mm line-out, I thought this might work. I'm on MIUI V5 with JB right now and just plugging in something in the 3,5mm line-out won't let me listen to any music, as I guess this line-out only works in lapdock-mode, because it will get the audio signal from HDMI (?).
I want to know if this might work with any rom that supports lapdock, because for the functions I want, I don't need the newest Android with the latest features.
Another function that would be awesome is to pair the Atrix via Bluetooth with other devices so the Atrix can play music via BT from other devices. Is this possible, too?
Like: Music on new phone --> BT --> Atrix connected to speakers plays music.
If there are any threats like this already, I'm really sorry, but a quick search didn't give me any results
Thanks!
P.s.: Can I put USB-storage on the multimedia dock when the Atrix is in lapdock mdoe?
Indeed, you need to go back to gb or atrics to fully use the hd dock.
You can connect any pendrive to those usb, phone will mount them.
Not sure about bt. Guess is possible

I recently received back an Atrix that I purchased on behalf of a friend sometime ago. I also figured it could perhaps be of use at the mother-in-laws when my son is there. I have another account with xda though it has been so long since I used the forum to post that I could not remember my username! So I just clicked to log in via G+. Its been great seeing that such an old (at least in terms of android developement) device has still got some very good support and excellent contributers. Before my Nexus4 I had a Galaxy S and that got flashed regular from the great work that goes on here.
It didn't take much reading to work out that Atrics looked as if it would suit my needs best for some simple internet use and perhaps media viewing on the Bravia the phone will be hooked to. I am hoping I may also find an XBMC build that will be stable enough to enhance the system! So today I found the time to get the basic Atrics 2.0 up and running, One or two little bugs too work out but am sure they will have been covered already. Installed FlashFox browser to make sure flash works without any hassles and just completed a rom backup and upgrade of the kernel to 14-02-05. The difference is noticeable straight away Krystian, good work.
I'll try to keep up with my project and how it goes. How is your project working out muhski?
Thanks again to just about everyone within this forum who has posted, I narrowed initial problems down quickly due to the very useful guides and information
setup restrictions
So I set up everything up nicely using the atrics ROM. Due to the TV and setup at the mother in laws, using the stereo out on the dock was not viable. This forced me to roll back to Nottatrix4g for a quick fix of using the HDMI to pass sound as well as audio. As a result I have a nice portable setup which will reside at the mother in laws for my son to use and perhaps his grandad too. I kept the ROM install as slim as possible without removing any functionality that may be required if we take the system on holiday for example. I installed several addons in xbmc and went through each to check the ones that wouldn't work easily for example asking for an external player, (the ones that did work easily all diverted to mxplayer). I added both Firefox and dolphin for flash based browsing, a couple of the games he plays on my Nexus 4 and an emulator to play the games I still have from the NES. The emulator is tied into wiimote for an easier experience for him although I would have preferred a more manageable pad but since that's as good as free.
So the the real test will start tomorrow, my main concern would be the system recovering from any crashes but up to now with the exception of xbmc occasionally closing, I have only had one issue with Bluetooth and the mouse showing paired but not. I deleted the db and that resolved the issue which I was unable to replicate.
So my experience would be to tell you if a similar project was looked at, check your hardware and see how the audio can connect best. If you can only do audio with HDMI stay on 2.x.x ROM, if you can stereo from the dock into the TV by RCA's or an amplifier you can use atrics ROM or a 2.x.x based ROM. Other than this you shouldn't need to spend too long finding a good use to a redundant Atrix.
The xbmc version came from xbmcandroid as the official xbmc does no longer support tegra² chips. If your reading this regarding a newer phone then the official version may suit you better.
Thanks to everyone who has made this possible I will try and name everyone and their apps in a review of the system in the hands of the young and the old in a week or two!

Did you ever get around to making the list of applications used in your media center build?
Also, does the remote control work with it?
