There seems to be many requests for this, so here it is.
If Photosphere is not working for you here is a CWM flashable zip that will fix it.
Once you flash and reboot, you will have 2 camera and 2 gallery icons.
Just go to apps and disable the Gallery that is 1.74 mbs. and you are good to go.
Edit: This also fixes the flash.

I just flashed it. Did you hide your existing gallery or freeze it. The photosphere works with your camera. So you can only hide your stock gallery and camera.

Yep, can verify that it works great on both houstonns latest PA build and the latest carbon build. All I did was copied the old gallery 2&4 apk files to external SD just in case I decided to go back to them some time, then once copied I deleted them out of system/app. Rebooted recovery wiped cache & dalvick and installed the zip. Rebooted system and all was up and running.
Anyone get this working on 4.1.2 jellybean?

This should change panorama to Photosphere, least it did for me. Just remember to disable gallery that is 1,79 mbs after you flash this one.
May try wiping cache and dalvik to prevent f/c.

I get "Unable to locate camera" or "Unfortunately gallery has stopped" errors. Sorry, i don't know what I could have done wrong. Although my original "gallery" app was 1.76mbs. I even restarted and am having the same problem.
I tried everything. Changing the old app names to .bak, wiping both cash, flashing rom, restarting, evrything. Still get the "Unfortunately gallery has stopped".

hmmmm... not sure - prolly nothing you did wrong.
My guess is houstonn will have a new build up soon.... either re-flash what you have now or wait for new build, know it can be a pain but may be time for a clean flash (if you haven't done one recently) all the best

Actually, that looks like the Sprint version.

Here is some quick info, for those that are debating leaving CM7.
Some (but not all) things that DO NOT WORK:
Netflix
HD-Youtube
Mic
Camera
Some Market apps
Titanium Backup
Most of the hardware problems from CM7 still exist in this CM9 alpha build.

Did you forget to include ClockWorkMod Recovery in the update folder on SDCard /root?
if you don't care about losing your data you can just flash the zip as you normally would from CWM.
Working pretty good so far. Just had a reboot with root file explorer but otherwise very smooth and usable.
edit: maybe i downloaded the wrong file, but is there a gapps with the new google music? the 7.1 that i downloaded that was linked on page 1 has the old music apk.
Smooth as butter.
Works great, didnt have any issues updating using ACME installer 2.

First make sure you are unlocked and using ROM racer recovery not the new one from ROM manager go to mount and storage format system then go back and wipe data/factory reset then restart recovery once recovery restarts flash latest rom and gapps then reboot. For me thats all I did and it all worked just alo of empty settings which is how it is supposed to be being an alpha and all some say to reboot into recovery wipe everything(factory rest, wipe cache, wipe dalvick then flash ROM and gasps then reboot after first install I personally didn't have to

You have an early version of the port that was missing some supporting files. The port was updated several times to get everything working. You'll get a ton of FC message as you use it, but everything works with the latest version: http://www.mediafire.com/?qrji31tlyll9ccn
(Don't report the FC issues to to Google Play. It's not even supposed to be on this device and the port works perfectly fine without FC's on other devices. Besides, you'd be putting in a TON of reports ).
Can I just flash the updated file over what I have our do I need to delete the one I already flashed first?

Just flash the update. It will write mostly the same files and then add some supporting files to get it working. Again, there will be MANY FC's...some even when just using the Play Store. They do kinda get annoying. Just a heads up...

Googled it and saw there was an issue with the app on December 12. So I flashed JellyBam and the same issue. Restored a nandriod of Blackstar ( TW Rom) and its working fine. i know this is an old thread but i am having this problem now. ive tried the latest cm10.1 build and the latest rootbox build and they both do the same thing, when you try to take a video on instagram it turns green and freezes then force closes the app and reboots the phone... how did you get it working? what do you mean by "hw thing"? aany help is greatly appreciated cuz this problem sucks.
I have the same problem with video recording on instagram..I was told by a dev that since our custom roms are not signed n official instagram can't detect the rom correctly meanin its not an official rom...if that makes sense..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T879 using xda app-developers app
yeah i see what your saying. i wonder of theres any way to fix this??... like is there a way to sign the rom? or make the app read it as being signed? im not a pro at this but im not a total noob either, but ive never delt with anything like this.
Thats not why. It doesn't work on stock either. They just need to fix the app.
it works fine on my stock tw gs3... and worked fine on the one that i flashed cm10.1 onto when it was still stock. pretty sure its an aftermarket jb rom issue. hopefully cm10.2 will fix the camera problems because from what i understand 4.3 is supposed to handle the camera / permissions and security differently. thats what im hoping at least because this seems to have everyone stumped :/
Yes, I checked the market reviews and now most 4.1 JB users are having success and a good time with the app. It still looks like the 4.2 camera is the problem.
ok i see what your saying now. so i wonder if i replaced the 4.2 system camera with a stock 4.1 camera if that would fix the problem?... we'll see when i try it.
Technically yes, but there could be several library files that needs to go with the camera.apk
its weird, some 4.2.2 ROM's it works fine (Right now I'm using PAC, no issues...I THINK I had it working on Carbon, too...)
Others, it'll load the feed, but when you try to upload a picture...App locks up (Like Slim I know I had this issue.)
Wonder if that will help any devs...
I'm currently using latest PAC build, along with latest UBER and Instagram works fine. I can load pictures and watch videos, as well as post pictures. I can record and post videos, but it looks like tv static. Doesn't bother me though since the main functions work excellent.
Can you really say "it works fine" unless all advertised features work correctly?
Good point, I didn't test the video feature...
So it works for the most part, then.

I've been trying to flash available zips, but have not had any luck with this.
Has anyone been able to get Photosphere Camera working on Tab 10.1?
I am running latest CM10.1 Nightlies.

Mine works flawlessly on CM nightlies. I held on to the original gapps I installed at the beginning and when the artifacts were cleared from the camera shots, photosphere became better too. I have been using it since then.

My gapps is dated 20121212 and it is signed.
One thing I kept doing when camera, photoshpere and gallery were misbehaving at the beginning of the nightlies was to clear data for gallery. Before I posted this, I had to reconfirm that the photosphere was still functioning well. At first it crashed immediately I activated it. So I went to Apps in Settings and cleared data for Gallery and that solved the problem. You may wish to try that. By the way I am 24/05 nightly.
Cheers.

Have even tried re-installing CM10.1 with nothing else installed.
Any thoughts or other suggestions?

What nightly of CM 10.1 are running? That will play a significant role in the functionality of photosphere. There was a time it was not supported at all but later support was restored and has been okay since then, at least for me.

Thanks for the update and sorry, I was out of town and was not able to get to this post.
I have recently reset my tablet to bare minimum. I am currently running CM10.1 nightly 0606, and was just thinking about upgrading to 607 (607 is latest as of writing this).
As far as camera app, i am using 4.2Camera_t04.zip (i can't remember where I aquired this from). I DO NOT, at the moment, have gapps package installed.
I will be looking to install the 301 gapps with 607 nightly to see if it helps.
Thanks,
Khurram
Update:
I installed the latest nightly 607 and installed the 1212 gapps. Installed the camera zip mentioned earlier and tried photosphere. It opens, but after taking first picture, the camera crashes.
I tried clearing data for gallery app, but still crashes.
Investigation continues...

I actually did not install any other camera app/zip, just the gapps. So reinstall the cm 10.1 and gapps after the necessary wipes, then wipe cache and dalvik after the installation. Run Photosphere and if it crashes, wipe data for gallery.
Hope this helps.
