Hey, my battery life on a newly flashed CM10 is about 3-4 hours on low brighteness and disabled wifi, gps, and bluetooth. I also calibrated battery using the root toolbox app on google play (cant use the BSR for stock ROM). Another thing is that when i select anything but auto brightness the hard key lights stay on no matter what the sensor detects until the next reboot and then they stay off regardless of the sensor. When I use my phone in absolute darkness and the hard key lights are on, i can see a sliver of light bleeding through the borders of my phone and it getts really hot.

You battery life seems similar to what I am experiencing. I have to charge my phone twice daily with Cm10 vs every other day on the stock ROM. However, I do not have any issues with the hard key lights being stuck on all the time on the light bleeding.
My phone does get hotter than it did on the stock ROM, but that may be caused be some other factor.

well all i can say is if your phone runs fine on stock its the rom. if it has all around problems (stock or not) i would sbf dont root and try to get another phone out of the company.

Hello Community,
Sorry to ask a seemingly dumb question. I don't have many posts because generally I can figure things out on my own. I've been rooting since OG D1 days. I had the OG D1, Incredible, and now I have the Thunderbolt. I am rooted, s-off, with cwr, but for some reason with my Auto-Rotate checked it just stays in landscape mode like if I go to Settings, or Mail, or Gmail... It's weird. I did a search and found nothing on it. Has this happened to anyone?
I'm not rooted. Just bought the phone, and having an auto-rotate issue myself. When I turn my phone over for landscape mode, it takes anywhere from 3-10 before it'll switch into it. I do know what I your talking about thiugh, because the demo phone I was playing with at the store was doing just what you said.
Have you tried a battery pull yet?
I've noticed the same thing, it keeps going into landscape mode and is reluctant to go back into portrait mode...
I wonder if it's hardware or software.
Have you tried calibrating the sensor using "settings>display>G-Sensor calibration" ???

I did this myself immediately and haven't noticed any issues you guys are talking about. I would recommend trying this as well.
Hi all
If you have your phone w A/C plugged in the screen doesn't respond too well when u rotate. Try to rotate the phone out anything plug in.
Give it a shoot.

That did it, thanks.
I've tried the G-Sensor Calibration and a battery pull, and restarting it multiple times and I'm still having the same issue.
I had this same issue with my phone - pretty sure its a broken sensor, i returned mine to a verizon store for a new one.
Hi
I've noticed that after the JB update, the Smart stay is totally broken.
In ICS, it used to be 80% accurate. Rarely it would turn on the screen when not needed and otherwise.
However since JB, almost 90% time it keeps the screen on.
I have kept it in bed, where is pointed ceiling and there is no way the front cam would've seen anything.
Still it kept the screen on for minutes.
It has happened so many times. I literally had to turn off the screen myself.
I've finally disabled it, as it was causing more issues than anything.
Anyone else with the issue?
I'm on stock LJ4
yes i found the same thing too! somehow when it's lying flat on the ground and facing the ceiling, it tends to stay on. so frustrating

the same on LJ4 (moded with InsertIcon)
You're totally right! It was perfect before and since jb I've been having the same issues.

Same here. Plus for me, it doesn't work very well when I'm actually looking at the screen any more and sometimes the screen will turn off. It worked perfectly for me in Ice Cream Sandwich.
True... It does stay on, but not "smartly".
Even the LK4 leak has this issue
If someone could port the smart stay from ICS, if that's even possible, that would be great.
I think it should change name to D*mb Stay.. hehehe.. kidding
I was woken last night by a flashing light in my room, the screen on my N10 was cycling between white, black, and backlight off.
The power button would not wake the device, the only thing I could do is hold the power button down until it turned off.
On powering back up, everything was fine and it didn't do it again.
I don't have any apps installed that would cause this, no screen flash notifiers or anything like that, what the hell happened?
I had that happen once, about three weeks ago. Also don't know why, but it hasn't happened again since.

Maybe OP has an Ouija Board app installed on his N10!?!?
Happened to me too
The screen was flashing a monochrome pattern that looked like a TV test pattern. I had to reboot by holding down the power button. It hasn't happened yet. It also went completely black another time and wouldn't respond, I had to reset it that time as well. I was afraid that it was because I bought a reburbished Nexus 10. I'll repost if it happens again.

You bought a refurbished N10? Interesting. I'm curious - how well does it perform? Any issues, other than the aforementioned? I can only afford a refurbished model at the moment, I'm looking at the one currently on eBay buy-it-now 32GB for $430; are the speakers okay? How is the battery life? Solid?
Sorry for derailing the topic, you're just one of the first that I've seen who have bought a refurbished model.
That's probably the memory leak in the graphics driver that some people mentioned (and the crash resulting from it). I had this happening 2 or 3 times on my N10, but only after long uptimes (2-3 weeks). Until it gets hopefully fixed .. reboot more often.
It works well. The speakers sound great, the battery life is pretty good (I use it a lot). It does charge a bit slow, but I may buy the pogo charger.

hey all
loving the 1 year+ with the atrix, but a few problems still affecting me. On neutrino 3.02 is anyone is wondering.
1)most of the time, when i take calls, the screen turns off as normal due to the proximity sensor, but refuses to turn back on after i take the phone away from my ear. no amount of pressing any buttons, physical or capacitive, will turn it on, and a battery pull is required.
2) im pretty sure i've read that this is a manufacturing defect with the atrix, so please correct me if i'm wrong. sometimes the screen will randomly press buttons, even when my hands and the screen itself is dry.
any solutions to the above?
thanks in advance

so basically, the sensor is dead? hmm. will be a pain to replace, one because the warranty is out, and two because motorola no longer serves asia.

I should have explayed a little longer..
As is stated in the forums, screen off after a call is a known bug of several roms (neutrino, cm9, cm10, atrics, etc, etc) I had it on cm7 stable and have it on cm7 latest nightly (pure cm7 both of them). In fact, the only rom I hadn't experienced this was on stock 2.3.6 with stock kernel.
As for the random press, I think it's hardware problem (the hardware is garbage) I experience it mostly on multitouch emulators, where you need to quickly press several spots... most of the time, a couple of second without touching the screen solves it

Ah okay, i see. thanks for the clarification. its a shame the stock rom isn't any good for me then, otherwise i wouldn't be having this problem!
as for the screen, my experience is that it happens when the screen first turns on, no matter what app i'm using. doesn't happen when the screen is already on, which is interesting. i remember reading a thread which said that the digitizer wasn't properly attached for this phone, meaning that it's destined to go bad at some point. i'll have to see if i can find the thread again.
once again, thanks for the clarification!
I have an SD note 4 and I have never noticed the back lights working on bottom buttons. Do these actually have lights on them? I see option in settings to turn em on and off and they are turned on but they don't work on mine. I am on stock miui 9 global rom.

Of course they work but not all the time, after you press them, they are lit for a few seconds

Could be a faulty device. Go to test mode, tap on kernel version several times and you have a lot of stuff to test and test everything, backlights especially

Yes deffo faulty. Tried the test and they do not come on.
Never mind as I have managed with it last 2 months without noticing it ha ha. Not worth the cost of returning to China from UK either.

Like I say I never noticed lol. Had the phone 2 months now so due a new one anyhow lol
Hey guys,
I have the opposite problem: they never turn off. They dim ever so slightly, but even with the device powered down they are still lit up (I have a second device to compare it to and in a pitch black room they are clearly lit up). Currently on global stable 9.0.5.0, will see if the problem persists once the 72 hour binding time is over and I can unlock bootloader. Unless someone has a suggestion for a fix?
