Hello guys,
I was wondering if any of you had any update on firmware 4.1.B.587 for the SK17a (Xperia Mini Pro American).
Apart from the Xperia Play that Sony already said that it wouldn't go higher than GingerBread, all other 2011 Xperia have been update to ICS.
There has been various Ice Cream Sandwich build on the Xperia 2011 lineup, but all of them have been updated to version 4.1.B.587.
All, but the SK17a...
Even SK17i have 4.1.B.587.
Users reports that the overall UI is faster, especially with the camera. I would also like to enjoy my Xperia with this performance boost, but unfortunately Sony hasn't released 4.1.B.587 for the SK17a.
So I'd like to know if there's a way to compile a 4.1.B.587 rom for the SK17a from a 4.1.B.587 rom of SK17i ?
I do not think I could simply flash the SK17i rom, since the band frequency aren't the same.
My phone is rooted, bootloader is locked, but my phone is a genuine from Sony, so I can unlock the bootloader if I need to.
4.1.B.0.587 is ICS, not JB. :what:

Ice Cream Sandwich, sorry my bad, but anyways, that doesn't help me out at all, the SK17a is still the only 2011 Xperia that havn't got the 4.1.B.587 update.
It looks like in the merging of Sony and Sony Ericsson, they totally forgot about the SK17a.
As I said, there is a lot of tweaking in the last update that help speed up things.

Thanks for the reply UchihaDareNial,
In your signature, it says you've got the SK17i, so why would you have had to do all this, there's a stock firmware for your model.
Your signature also says that you're running a custom build, so I guess you simply left the stock firmware after a couple of weeks. If so, why? Were there many bugs in the new firmware?
I've got the american version of the SK17i, the SK17a. If the procedure you've writen above is correct, I should be able to update my SK17a with a SK17i firmware. I know where to find the build.prop, but I do not know what the hell is the 8 digit code SI number, could you help me out with this?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Hi guys,
I Just want to inform you that yesterday I updated my Xperia neo and got 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Does anybody know what are changes since previous build?
Using 4.0.2.A.0.62 I can not root using DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su,
So becareful, you may need to wait until some solution for rooting is found.
Is It Available For Neo V Too ... Cant Find In My Region.. Will Wait Till There Is Any Solution For Rooting
Which region are you in?

I have rooted 4.0.2.A.0.62.
First I flashed InteksV15 kernel. After I used DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.
it's working
But after it will be running on Inteks kernel. You may need to extract original one from 4.0.2.A.0.62
and reflash it.

I can get the update, but I have an unlocked bootloader so I used flashtool. But I had a conversation with @SonyEricssonNL, and it turned out I have a scandinavian SI number.
I think you can just use flashtool to flash the ftf, also non-rooted.
SORRY guys but my mediafire account got hacked and deleted all my stuff.
I don't have a Ray anymore so I don't have the firmwares backed up.
Sorry again.

Hello guys,
i was thinking i should make a thread containing different stock FW so people can easily find and download.
I have addded 3 and hoping people would help and share some more. I would add them to 1st post.
These are only to be flashed via Flashtool

If i understand it's stocked so it have all the app of my phone have when i buy it.
I'm on ICS now, i have rooted removed sony app that i don't use, but the phone is slow...
Some app close unexpectly, so i'm thinking to come back, but i don't want to unlock my bootloader and install a non-stock rom for the warranty.
Do you think GB is better of ICS for smooth?

yes you will have all stock apps back on like when you bought it. yeah if you downgrade, you wont loose the warranty. imho i prefer ICS just because of the UI, but yeah GB is much smoother and more apps work with it.

Hi. I have xperia ray, GB .42 rooted and cwm too. S I 1251 4132.
I want to upgrade to official ics from sony.
Can i update it with PCC????
I read that upgrading with Pcc can brick my phone cos my phone has been rooted. Is that true ???
Or my root just close????
Please help...
I am sorry a lot of questions and i really need the answer.
By the way, thank u very much, cos i am really confusing right know
Sent from my ST18i using xda premium
Hi, you are absolutely able to upgrade by PCC, even your phone is rooted. it also won't make your phone brick.
but if your phone is unlockbootloader through Sony official methode, it will brick your phone.
updating via pcc nor seus makes your root status break. so you must re-root after upgrading.
Thank u
I read many posts here and also on sony talk....
