So is it just a case of waiting for 4.2.2 touchwiz to be released? Are any of the other camera features likely to be featured on the note 2? Action shot etc?

That would be great. The new Snote makes me want to return the 2014 edition.
I would also like to have the old note 8 snote. The 2014 snote is rubbish and I dont use it.

l too would like the older version. But I hope I'm not on the older version because When I check my S-note app, it shows Version 1.0.0
Does the new s note lag while writing for you guys?? Cause it does for me and that's the only reason I have shifted to lecture notes. . New s note got loads of features and is more pleasant to view. . . . But the old s note in my note 10.1 didn't lag while writing and was fluidic compared to this

I have the old note, GF has the 2014, old snote is a lot more intuitive grids and templates may be a little better, but I widely prefer the old.

You guys should know that even if someone is able to port it over, certain features I.e. Manual focus will have absolutely no chance of working since it depends on the camera2 api which is not implemented for the s5.
