Auto rotation problem - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When watching media or playing games even with auto rotation turned on, the phone flips back round the other way and turns off the auto rotate!?
Have recently updated omega rom to 43.3 or 43.4, can't remember which number it is, but the update did include 4way rotate. So is it a bug?
Any suggestions?
Cheers.

Community Rom- Can't disable auto rotate?

Has anyone else had this issue with auto rotate? Using the community rom obviously. Another issue I have been having with it is going in and out of airplane mode, more often than not it won't pick up signal again and requires a reboot. Which is no where near as annoying compared to the auto rotate (yes I tried disabling it on both the pull down and in the settings -> display menu).

the next version of community rom (1.3) will have a version of the rotating launcher2 that can be enabled by the power control toggles....the newest tsm/psykdup mods enable this, but the launcher had to be edited accordingly
so hold on a *little* bit longer
Good to know im also having this problem and it really sucks but I guess its better than problems that come with ota froyo

since ive upgraded to 1.2 my home screen doesnt rotate anymore
like i said before..the launcher in 1.3 will *when its out* allow for toggling of rotation from the power controls
was it disabled in 1.2? because after i updated my screen no longer rotates. im glad because it got real annoying. im only bringing this up because if it was, the OP can just update to the newest version to fix his problem
Dont turn your phone sideways!

Screen rotate isn't as flexible as it used to be

I've recently upgraded from a nexus one to my new s3. On my n1, I could turn off auto rotate in the display settings & some apps, such as YouTube & pocket, would still rotate if I turn the phone - which is exactly how I wanted it.
On my s3, however, if auto rotate is off then only games will change to landscape mode - which they do regardless of phone orientation.
It's not an issue with the phone hardware - if I enable auto rotate, then the phone responds as expected.
Is there any way to get my s3 to behave as my n1 did?

[Q] Tasker Auto-Rotation + GameBoid?

I've got a profile made in Tasker where, if a certain app is opened, Auto Rotation will be enabled. One of the apps is GameBoid, but when I open it, it never turns on auto-rotate automatically. In fact, sometimes when it's open and in landscape mode (which I had to turn on myself), it turns Auto Rotation off.
I've tried using the app Orientation Control which has a Tasker plugin to see if it works that way, but it still won't work.
Any ideas?
Anyone??
No one can help?

Reset auto rotation

I have tried many different things that other people posted to reset the auto rotation, but nothing works. I've flashed an new 4.4 kitkat rom in alpha version and then after that, even if i restore, it doesn't work. Any help?
What do you mean reset auto rotation? What is it doing? Typically you turn ON auto rotation, get it to where you want it (portrait or landscape) and then disable it.
I have mine disabled all the timed and locked into portrait. When I want to watch a video I'll unlock it briefly.

I turned that feature off but I get that Dim bug whatever it is when I play a game. I even re flash it again.
Also turn OFF the automatic setting in Brightness level selector....that might help

Hey just install any root explorer and go to system - etc - long click on thermanager.xml then click open in text editor then swipe down to backlight section and delete it all finally save it and reboot your phone
