Wifi + Bluetooth issues - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello folks. I'm experiencing this annoying issue. I used to listen local stored music through Bluetooth while surfing with no issues. But I bought a Spotify Premium account and my problems began. I tried Rdio and Deezer and both suffer from the same thing. The wifi connection just hangs, I mean, it doesn't drop but stops receiving packages, the sites stop loading and the music also stops. It takes some time to start playing again. I'm on a 35mbps down 3.5 mbps up connection with maximum signal. I've tried stock kernel, boeffla, syiah, speedmod, and the issue won't go away. When I turn the Bluetooth off, it works flawlessly. I am on the latest build. Any idea how to solve this annoying bug? Best regards.

[Q] Problem bluetooth music plays and stops Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100

Hello, I have a problem with the bluetooth of the Samsung galaxy S2. It's connects correctly to all devices, and for example, when it's connected to the bluetooth of my car, and I play music, the music stops and plays intermittently with all the music programs that I have tried. It's strange because when I am using the bluetooth for hands-free talking it's works perfectly. I dont Know if maybe exists and update of the firmware of the bluetooth.
I have this specifiactions:
Android Version: 2.3.3
I9100XXKDJ
GINGERVREAD.XWKE2
Thank you!!!
I had this problem also but it hasn't done it for a long time, don't know what else to tell you?
Goodluck

Hello NIK516,
Thanks for answering. Did you do something? I understand that know you don't have the problem.
Hi,
I'm experiencing the same "feature". Let the phone play its hiccup game for a couple of times and it will play just fine after a minute or so. I only figured this out while testing the GPS capability and wanted to get voice instructions over BT as well. First I had the play...pause...play....pause - loop, but after a minute or so all was fine.
Update: I just went down to my car to confirm "the minute". Guess what it was playing perfectly fine and my radio was even showing mp3 tags which it didn't before with my HTC Desire.
So, what did I change in between:
- stopped WiFi sharing using the task manager
- bonded my Asus G53JW to the phone in order to try Kies via BT

I have been listening to music with SE MW 600 Bluetooth headphone for weeks and I have yet to experience such a problem. Try a different ROM.

I flashed 2.3.4 XXKG1 and I lost all settings, all apps etc.
I was lucky enough that I had made a CWM backup before BUT I wonder why I can't do this without losing my apps, data etc.
It's very weird because Kies is doing this to the latest firmware (which means that is 100% feasible) but it seems to me that it can't happen with earlier versions.
Any clues or directions are more than welcome.
No news on my post, bad news to my query...
AND still suffering from these unexplicable A2DP Bluetooth disconnects...
So I have option 1 to install 2.3.4 XXKG1 but lose all settings and almost 150 apps and spend I week to bring them back
and option 2 to swear 10 times a day that Bluetooth disconnects
Thank you Sammy, well done!

Problems with Ford Sync Bluetooth audio ICS 4.0.4

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone has had any problems with audio being streamed through Ford Sync? After about a half hour or so of streaming or playing audio my phone freezes and reboots. I have tried 4 or 5 different roms and every single one of them has this problem. Thanks for your help!

I stream BT audio using Rdio service with my Sync (Ford MyTouch). I can't say that I've ever had that problem after using it for a while. I am using the xXx ROM.
Never had a problem.

No problems with my CM9 builds streaming to my 2010 Ford Focus, the audio quality is good and the steering wheel controls work.
Havent had a problem with streaming to Ford sync. Does it just do it when streaming to your Sync, or does it lock up doing anything else, ie playing thru headphones, or speaker.
Ford sync is buggy, could try rebooting your sync, you can do that yourself by pulling the fuse for it for a few mins.
It doesn't do it with headphones or a usb cable. It only does it when I am streaming audio through the Sync. It wouldn't freeze and reboot when I was on gingerbread, only on ICS.

2009 Ford Focus - AT&T Skyrocket ICS 4.0.4
I can't seem to pair my phone to my Focus since updating with the official AT&T released ICS 4.0.4 version. It worked fine before... I will try pulling the fuse soon and trying again.
Mine will pair, I have an F150 and Expedition. Both will pair, but no longer connect automatically. I can manually force them to connect, but not automatic. I have reset the car (pull positve cable from battery for 30 seconds) and then paired the phone again. Still nothing. My wife has a Galaxy S2 on 4.0.2 and it works just fine. Something goofy with the Note and 4.0.3 bluetooth drivers.
I can pair it just fine, the phone freezes up about a half hour into my audio playback. I can stop it from freezing if I stop the audio before it hits the 30 to 35 minute mark and hit play again.

So after testing my Bluetooth audio with cm9, the phone never froze or rebooted. Makes me wonder if the Bluetooth drivers for the stock roms are bad? Would anyone know how to get updated or better drivers? Thanks again!

I have this issue when I am streaming audiobooks, podcasts, or even a long youtube thing when streaming to my After market Sony stereo. It happens pretty much every 38 minutes like clockwork. After the 2nd freeze, I lose data connectivity until I do a full reboot. When it freezes, it seems like it doesn't do a full reboot for me, as I never see any booting animations. Just a frozen screen, a few seconds of black then back to the lock screen.
This *does not* happen when streaming Google Music. It seems like it's only when I'm playing the same audio piece for over a half hour. This is using Audible and BeyondPod. I can't recall which kernal I'm using, but I do remember it is the same one the last 2 roms where I've had this issue, so I have no idea if it even can be kernal related or not.
Yeah that is the problem that I am having as well. If I stop the audio before it hits the 38 minute mark then it won't reboot. cm9 so far hasn't made my phone freeze. I wonder if people are having the same problem on the att official update?

I have exactly the same problem on rooted stock Telus 4.0.4 rom. My bluetooth device is JVC car radio. Can someone fix the title of the thread to remove "Ford Sync" reference? It looks like the problem is more generic.
I never had an issue connecting to my 2011 Escape until ICS. If i manually did a connect, it was fine, but no automatic connect with ICS. After I did an unpair, delete the connect from phone and car, then performed a new pair, it was fine.

Headset Bluetooth not working for calls

Hello there,
I'd like to introduce myself ! I am the typical forum's reader because I am from Spain and I usually post on spanish forums because the language but now, I have a problem that seems not to be as common as I thought:
I have a SGS2 with Vanilla Rootbox CROM running and JellyBam as 2nd rom.
I have just bought a bluetooth headset that supports AD2P and I can listen music through its "speakers" (is a system for a bike helmet) but I have tried with normal and skype calls and I cannot hear anything neither my voice is "heard" in the other side of the line.
I have tried changing the kernel: Siyah, Dorimanx and Stock kernel.
I have tried both roms (vanilla and jellybam)
I have tried it in my sister's galaxy s 2 with official rom and it works without problems so, I think that it could be an AOSP issue.
I don't know what could I try, I have been searching a similar topic but I just found old threads and just similar, not exactly the same.
So, please, could you help me with this??
Thanks in advance!!
Someone please

After pairing the 'Bluetooth' to ur device, go to settings>bluetooth and check the settings of the paired bluetooth and see if any thing is unchecked there for 'Phone' if so enable and then try

Alright, well, I've had a lot of trouble in this area as well, and I have found a few ways to get the Bluetooth headset working with Skype. I'll tell you now, that it's probably got more to do with Skype than whatever ROM/kernel you're running. I tried this on my stock 4.2.2 Nexus 4, and on CM10.1 stable, running Franco's Kernel r151. The headset I'm using is the LG HBS730, which has served me well in all tasks on my phone other than Skype, of course. This is a long-standing problem I've had with Skype; the conspiracy theorist inside of me wants to believe it's because Microsoft wants to push their Windows phones by purposefully making their Android client suck, but the realist in me hopes that's not true (what with the wide range of Android hardware that the Skype Client would have to support). And besides, Skype's as broken on Windows phones as it is on Android, minus the glaring battery issues.
Okay, to get the headset working, I've done the following.
1. Before I start skype, I turn my bluetooth headset off. I wait until it disconnects.
2. I turn my phone's Bluetooth off and on again. Do not reconnnect the headset yet.
3. Sign into Skype (I'm using the version that was updated on July 10, 2013, since I can't seem to get a real number on the version of this miserable app).
4. Join the call that your friend(s) are in. You will start to hear them over your phone's loudspeaker.
5. Turn your Bluetooth headset on, wait for it to connect. When it connects, Skype should automatically recognize it, and start using both the mic and the earphones on the headset, and you should be able to talk normally.
Here are some things that will annoy you, though:
When you get a regular phone call, the Skype call will be put on hold. When you end the phone call and try to rejoin the Skype call, Skype will still see the headset as connected, but will continue to use the phone's speaker and microphone.
This is going to happen a lot, and here's how to fix that:
1. Leave the call, and sign out.
2. Close the app from the little task manager thingy (If it's a Galaxy SII, just hold the home button and swipe it away).
3. Disconnect the Bluetooth headset. You can turn your bluetooth on your phone on and off again real quick if you think that helps--I have yet to determine if it does.
4. Sign back into Skype, and join the call.
5. Turn your headset back on again, and Skype should connect to the headset.
For some bizarre reason, I have not been able to connect my headset to my phone, and sign into Skype with the expectation that anything will work, at all. I wish it weren't so complicated, but it is.
Oh, and FYI, don't bother with Skype premium. Group video doesn't work on Android phones OR Windows phones (even from Windows desktop to Windows phone, my friend and I tested; way to sell broken services, Microsoft!), so if you're on-the-go a lot, it's a total waste of money. Also, if you're bike riding, you're probably just going to piss off your friends in the Skype call with all the ambient noise. The mute feature on my headset is not recognized by Skype, so I have to dig my phone out of my pocket to mute it from the screen.
I hope this helps, but more than that, I hope that one day, Microsoft will restore my faith in Skype. But considering it took them this long to revise their app to the point where Bluetooth even pretends to work, I'm not crossing my fingers.

anyone one 4.3 please inform me if u have bluetooth problem

Hello everyone please I need to know if its only me or everyone on 4.3 is suffering slight hiccup ( like the sound gets disconnects for a fraction of a second ) when you stream music over bluetooth every 3- 5 minutes
as this so annoying and I need to know if its only me so I can try to restore back to 4.1 if that is a common problem
i have boot loader unlocked and rooted, could this be due to rooting and unlocking boot loader related

I've had 2-3 stutters on my SHB-52 using .290 firmware. Used to have more on previous versions.
But my ultra was in my pocket, and the SHB-52 was clipped to my neck. so it only stands to reason that the stutter is because bluetooth has to go through my body. (my get cancer in there somewhere)

Got same problem, before update was working perfectly but now no. Even when screen mirroring with Bravia it loses connection in 2m before 4.3 never had issue
Yea with 4.3, I notice it drops connection quite a bit. smartwatch 2 sends me a throw notification every 5min when steaming music to sbh52. watch gets disconnected sometimes too, and doesn't automatically reconnect until minutes later. hopefully things get sorted out with .114.
Sent from my C6833 using xda app-developers app
when do u think 114 will be released as this bluetooth issue is so annoying
I've many Bluetooth issues since 4.3. Sbh-52 and smartwatch 2 gets disconnected often and have difficulties reconnecting.
SBH-52 sounds often get crappy with a lot of clicks.
Last but not least, my motorcycle helmet's Bluetooth is not detected by Smartconnect anymore and keeps disconnecting like the sbh-52 and smartwatch.
My ZU is not rooted and I tried downgrading Smartconnect, sbh-52 and smartwatch app but same situation.
I guess Bluetooth in 4.3 has big problems and I hope next update will fix it.

It s even worse than I thought. While listening to music through Bluetooth headset the music randomly stops. Sometimes it restarts by itself, sometimes I have to press the play button on the headset.
Last but not least, when music plays all other notifications are not heard, the volume of the music goes down but there is no sound from the notification itself. Very annoying to use Waze while listening to music on the motorcycle...
I really hope the next update will fix this Bluetooth mess which was perfectly working with 4.2.

Flashing 4.3 fixed most of the issues. Blutooth is now stable, sound is ok and smartconnect works again.

Bluetooth Problems since last OTA

Hello together,
Anyone else suffering from Bluetooth Problems since the last OTA?
In my case the connection to my watch is abnormally instable, sometimes being disconnected for hours. Secondly I cant use the Bluetooth System in my car. It connects but Redirects calls to the phone and does not use the free speaking Equipment. Worked flawlessl before.
Any information or Tip would be appreciated!

I too have had Bluetooth issues since the update. Playing music via Bluetooth headphones now pauses at seemingly random intervals using a variety of apps for music / podcasts
Did that for me on the latest update. Now running Cm13 and can't even connect to Bluetooth
Ive had enough of the phone and have bought a new device.
Great phone let down by very poor software
Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
This seems to be caused by wifi turning itself on and interrupting the Bluetooth connection. I have not been able to find a reason for this yet. All app permissions are set to always ask before turning on
Maybe smart connection problem ?
