Why, i installed 2.0 and battery life has decreased
I use the same combo but 1809/192 intellidemand noop and get about 12-18 hours with 2-4 hours screen on time.

This kernel is so much smoother than the stock one . I could only get about 10 or 11 hours out of it.

No way you could get that high of a score on stock. Stock I was getting around 8000.

I agree man, I have never seen any issue running the stock kernels on this phone so far. I have always had better results in both smoothness and battery life with a stock kernel.
I will reserve my opinion on custom kernels for another time.

Running this ROM and stock kernel. I average 15-16 hours with medium use. I'd say that's plenty good. I'm not an overclocker so I personally see no use for a custom kernel.

This. It's second nature for me to wake my phone with the power button anyway. Sweep to wake isn't all it's cracked up to be. I ran BM for a bit. Too buggy for me.

Buggy was the wrong word. I should have just put that my battery life was terrible. No disrespect to zarboz, he's a good Dev and works hard on these. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

Beastmode was slightly faster overall, and got the same battery life. That's my experience.
Why it got removed though, is 2 random reboots in a day with default options is too many. I like speed, but i'm not settling for anything less than functionality on our powerhouse of a phone.
What settings would you recommend guys

Just hellraised this rom using ktoonez flashaholics tool used it all day today seems to be a good rom and i like the theme over aokp. Use the regular method wipe data&cache, dalvik, and format system just to be safe. After flashing the rom flash the cm9 modem linked at the bottom. This is not my rom and i take no credit.
Neaks new kernel is super smooth get that to and this rom is smooth as butter!

X2... Is this on an ICS ROM? My computer has Linux kernel 3.2, but GB on our phones is still 2.6..... I ran a couple of those ICS leaks, but never checked kernel version. None of them are stable enough for me, though.
Everything works in CleanRom. I had flashed chad's ICS leak kernel so that I could use no-frills cpu control, but some things got borked. No now I'm back on the one below, which does not support setcpu. Battery life is amazing though. I am going to try and use up my battery today, since I could only get it down to 40% yesterday.

Make sure you show your screen on time next time you post. Your first post did show some good battery life, but I can get the same screenshot with using my stock if I do not use my phone barely at all. These screen shots don't show much. The most important one to show is screen on time.

We have a firmware update from Virgin Mobile. Many users have experienced issues with this, I would recommend not updating. The ADSP.img is what is important for booting the Linux 3 Kernel including with these ROMs, this should be generic between Virgin Mobile and Sprint but DO NOT take my word for it. Chad has a test kernel for those without the new firmware which only breaks 3D and USB Mount/ADB if you want to try it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639471

Feeling fustrated about the galaxy ace lag??
Well with these simple steps your phone will be lagless.
I DO NOT TAKE ANY BLAME TO DAMAGING OF DEVICE. TAKE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
FIRST install a lightweight rom such as icecream sunday final or miracle v4.
SECOND install a script. Script i use is slaidfastmod v2. Other scripts work fine too such as zippalingers script or any others. Make sure these scripts improve performance, as it will be listed in the features.
THIRD go to cyanogenmod settings and tap performance. Change the cpu governer to smartass and change minimum frequency to 122 and maximum to 864.
FOURTH reboot and enjoy your fast phone.
If u have any questions just ask.
Hit the thanks button please.

Each device varies when it comes to overclocking. Mine becomes unstable going above 864 but runs fine at 844. For others it will be different because of the variation in the processors

Anyone use this feature on their S2? Its on Sammy based ROMs. I noticed if you enable it, it makes the phone run noticeably slower, which is presumably good to prolong battery life.

Its only meant to be used when your battery is running low.
You can switch it on when say your battery is at 30%.
But as you know that will hinder the phones full potential.
Yes, I have seen that there are two options, for system and custom power saving.
When I choose system, it underclocks the CPU, but when I choose custom, it doesn't control the CPU, only the data connectivity options.
Just wondering how much extra juice you guys have managed to squeeze out of it.
