I have rooted a DX2 using Moon Shadow's Droid X2 Tutorials successfully about a year ago and now have purchased another DX2 and am trying to root it the same way. USB debugging is on unknown sources is checked, USB config is charge only. Reinstalled the drivers. See below
The phone is stock 2.3.4

the part i dont get is where you say you purchased ANOTHER droid x2 .
sometimes you have to run it a couple times. use petes.
Using a Verizon reseller. Limited to 3g and its probably the best non-4G phone around.
Also I ran it 5 times with same results
did you check if it's rooted, with root check?
try the zergRUSH root in ezSBF? Or just sbf and start over

I don't think it rooted, SuperSU would not install saying it was not rooted. I'll try EzSBF when my son release the phone back to me.
I also like pete's better.

Also tried with SuperOneClickv2.3.3 but no luck.
Any suggestions how to root it?
So nobody has rooted I9100P yet?
ZergRush doesn't work on 2.3.6, unless you do the "RAM crash" method. Load apps until you have over 500mb RAM used, then do ZergRush method again.

Hi,
I tried root with DoomLord's script and also with unlockroot.com, both failed
I need an easy way to root and also unroot
System version is 65.1.21.XT910.Retail.en.il
Thanks!
Unzip to disk с:\, run run.bat.
Wait until the end.
Enjoy
Yes, I have this
But before I try I want to know what is the unrooting method for this
Thanks

With the motofail root method, on the xt912 at least, doomlords unroot method worked when I tried it.

OK, so here is the full story. My RAZR is the XT910 running on 2.3.5
I made sure I have the most updated motorola drivers, phone is connected via USB on Charge Only, USB Debugging and Unknown Sources enable
unlockroot - recognizes the phone but fails to root, first error says: "failed to chmod file :/data/local/tmp" and then "failed to get shell root"
DoomLord fails:

Had the same problem yesterday,
Roted with winfail,
then tryed to unroot using doomlord.
both of them worked for me on OTA 2.3.6 version
Check out this program. http://bit.ly/HoXqYg
I used it to root my phone (on 2.3.6, and 2.3.5). Never tried unrooting, but rooting and install safestrap worked well for me.

i downgraded through flashtool and it went perfectly fine, in About Telephone section says that i,ve .42 firmware.
one question, did i need to enable adb debugging on or off for flashing? (i idid it with enabled debugging).
