T-Mobile LTE - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Just thought I'd share. Kinda nice ironic that I'm going off the grid (lol oh military) , but got to ride the LTE train on T-Mobile.

Are you just in a bad signal area or is that a normal speed?

Bad signal area one bar (-98dBn), but soo much faster the HSPA+ obviously... Didn't get the change to see what it would be like in a good coverage area.

change that to Mbps and run some tests. Is that Dev unlocked One?

I'm not in an LTE area, but here are the results from earlier in Mbps.

Not bad, I'm considering this phone for T-Mobile LTE. How is the HSPA?

because it's kB/sec. not kb. and 1380kB/sec = ~1.3mB/sec = ~11mb/sec

From what I have read with Network Vision, your 3g speed would be at least 8 times faster than that speed test. My opinion is the same as yousefak, maybe a local tower fix.

I believe they didn't actually upgrade 3g for the network vision.
Then again, 1600 kb/s is insane for 3G so they could have started a new 3g tech rollout. Unlikely though as i imagine they'd focus on 4g LTE only.

you said you were getting 60kb/s...did you mean 60kB in your OP? If not, I stand corrected with that you did get a huge increase in speed going from 60kb/s to 270kB/s.
With what you wrote, you were getting 7.32kB/s (60kb/s) and now you are getting 270kB/s (2218.69kb/s) which would be a huge boost.

I was just confused because a speed of 60kb/s is so slow, I thought you meant 60kB/s. All makes sense now. For people that don't know, here is an example of a single speed test shown in kb/s, kB/s, and Mbps.

Go over 5GB with your "unlimited" plan and your bumped down to WAP speeds on AT&T.
Well it just reset on the 21st and I am at about 1GB. Also I just got about 30sec of late after hanging up a phone call. Just to be sure H is LTE on aosp/aokp right?

I dont think H means LTE.
H+ is for HPSA+ which is 4g (really it is 3.5g)
It should say LTE.
No..on aosp it's displayed as
H is hspa+
4g is lte

I'm around the same area. Still no LTE here, but I do get it further east in the Richardson area. My understanding is that this is just part of the process as Sprint rolls out LTE across DFW. I can't find a link to the article, but I read that it should be mostly completed around here by the end of August, early September. I'll look around for the article.

Sprint's LTE is at 10% as of right now. It's "supposed" to be completed by the end of the year...says a sprint rep.

I go all over the dfw area for work. It's very spotty to say the least. What's crazy is the fastest 4g I've experienced was about 4 miles west of Gainesville.

Might just be that people are using the internet on it. Most people only use download. Or might be a tower problem, like tweaking it or something to that extent

Yeah I'm using stock ROM rooted with stock modem. I'm pretty sure T-Mobile is using 1900mhz for LTE and ATT uses 1700. Really digging the late though. Download and upload isn't a big concern but the ping has dropped to about half of what it was. Very happy with T-Mobile. I think the lte will spread quickly like their 4G did.

T-Mobile doesn't use 1900Mhz for LTE, only AWS 1700Mhz.
Regardless the i717 doesn't support LTE over 1900Mhz.

Oh wow this is awesome!!!! Could you please get into your ServiceMode (dial *#0011#) and take a screenshot of your ServiceMode?
Did you change any of your APN settings in order to access LTE or you're running default epc.tmobile.com ?
Thanks!
I'll post a picture of it in service mode around 5pm. I'm at work right now and LTE isnt coming through the building very well. Also to answer your APN question I am indeed running the stock epc.tmobile.com. also thanks for clearing up the frequency bands ok both networks I wasn't quite sure.

I like the techie stuff. For instance, in that screenshot I can see that they're using Band 4 (AWS 1700/2100Mhz), LTE bandwidth is 5Mhz which tells me that the maximum possible download/upload speeds are 37mbps down / 12mbps up in that particular market, EARFCN 2175 means that they're using C block of the AWS spectrum which is 10Mhz slice (5Mhz used for downlink, and 5mhz for uplink).
Most consumers don't care about this kinda stuff, but I do
Thanks again!
