Thanx....... Rename to original, replace the original and reboot. Install from market
If it gets past the usual errors the initializing process takes 2-3 minutes so be patient Gods speed and thank you a TON for going thru all that to get me the file!!!

I replaced the original with this modded build.prop, but Google Wallet isn't showing up in the Market for me, I am on the stock ROM.
Edit-I found the Apk and installed it, but I get the "Not available for your device or network yet" message.
Ok. Thx for trying.....did you reboot after replacing build.prop, then go to the playstore to dload wallet? There's no reason it would not show up in playstore unless you didn't reboot phone first

Here's a new one to try
1. Backup original build.prop
2. Extract modified build.prop from the .zip file
3. Delete stock build.prop
4. Paste modified build.prop in place
5. Reboot
6. Dload wallet from playstore

It won't work. The MoDaCo tweak using Xposed is simpler and it results in GW crashing after five minutes on the first screen, signifying that there are necessary libs missing.

system write protection
I tried this on a rooted stock ROM, but it seems like there is write protection in the /system folder - after replacing the build.prop file followed by reboot it reverts back to the original stock build.prop file. Is there a kernel with wp disabled so we can at least modify the build.prop file?

Short answer: no.
Long answer: Not right now, but there is a chance it will. The problem is that there are missing libs--it has nothing to do with r/w or this build.prop (FYI, just use the MoDaCo patch). What it seems like, however, is that the Sprint HTC One includes the missing libs (probably because pretty much every phone at Sprint is Google Wallet capable). If some enterprising dev would be willing to find those libs and port them to our device, then we'll be set and Google Wallet would work.

Hello all! Now, before we get all flustered, I would like to apologize for the faulty flashable zip I created earlier. I'm not the best at creating flashable zips, I'm still learning. Until this issue is worked out, we must fix our phones the manual way.
This mod will replace the default apn-conf.xml in the /system/etc directory.
Please note, I am not responsible for a loss of data, messages or missed phone calls that lose your job. (Even though it will all work the same, have to defend myself.)
This fix is built into the latest MIUI by myself. Soon, other developers will place this in their ROMS making this thread not necessary.
If you have created an APN yourself, it needs to be deleted.
Also, I do not have an MX2, the carriers in this file are verified to work. If your carrier is not listed below, DO NOT DO THIS MOD!
Carriers Supported:
Verizon
MobiPCS
Cricket
MetroPCS
Sprint
Virgin Mobile
Boost Mobile
NTelos
CSpire
Now, onto the fix:
1. Download this file here (Right Click, Save-As)
2. Place it in the root of your SD Card
3. Open Root Explorer, Root Browser Lite (Recommended), ES File Explorer, etc. (As long as it has root privileges)
4. Rename your /system/etc/apn-conf.xml to /system/etc/apn-conf.xml.bak
5. Copy the apn-conf.xml from your SD Card to /system/etc/
6. Set the permissions to rw-r--r--
[x][x][ ]
[x][ ][ ]
[x][ ][ ] (This is what it should the permissions box should look like)
7. Go to the directory /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
8. Remove telephony.db and telephony.db-journal
9. Reboot phone.
10. Enjoy a working MMS.

Well, I just went through the old apn-conf file and took out a list of the carriers listed in there. I didn't take the carriers listed for multiple countries or multiple in the same country (e.g. T-Mobile, they have about 10 for the USA alone listed in there). I'm pretty sure that the old file is a general file that was used across a very wide range of devices.
Already in fix:
MobiPCS
Verizon
Cricket
MetroPCS
Sprint
Virgin Mobile
Boost
In old but not in new:
U.S.Cellular
T-Mobile
Cingular
AT&T
Rogers
Orange
MoviStart
Vodafone
Requested:
Cspire
Ntelos

Bump for CSpire and NTelos. Thanks to 754boy for testing!
In your original post you said to look for apn-conf.xml. This threw me for a second but the name of the file is apns-conf.xml (plural)
Might this have been the problem with your flashable zip as well?
Also - I've done all this and mine still won't send pictures through mms. It just sits there saying sending... all day. (on CM7, DX2)
How about us that on the old alltel please

it's likely that it won't, because when google wallet gets updated, it's pretty much useless. system will recognize the model of your phone and carrier and you'll be blocked immediately. If this incident happens, people will blame the developer that it doesn't function properly.

We ran into this on the GS3 on AT&T. We had a flashed installed, but then if you pulled the update down from Play it would hose Wallet. It was a simple - don't update Wallet and you had no problems.

You could stick it in there but it would be worthless. You have to edit the build prop while adding your cards then revert back to the original. Wouldnt make much sense to include when you have yo go through this anyways. Just flash the zip its the only extra step.

Have you flashed Google wallet with different rom builds or totally different roms before?? It's not as easy as just simply flashing a couple files like on the S3 and editing the build.prop back, and your done...? I have already had to re-do my wallet and it has been a TEDIOUS experience... I think everyone that has done it a few times could tell ya but it's just different somehow, I think they stepped up security or something with this phone it seems... I can follow a guide to a "T" and it will do something different than my last flash... This has got to be one of the mods that makes me not wanna change roms so frequently like I used to... Don't know what the deal is though? I finally got my current Beans 4 setup ( and fully functional ) with the wallet mod, s-pen sound mod and Perseus kernel so I am happy, but the wallet mod was the longest and most tedious part of upgrading roms IMO. It's a must have for me seeing as tons of places use it around my location and it just makes things simpler. And you never have to worry about forgetting your ( back pocket ) wallet! While I don't really think that it could be included in a rom, I think that there has to be a better way than what it is now...

Then you'll soon or later run into compatibility issue. It may work for a few weeks, but may not work afterwards. It seems like current google apk recognizes our carrier and model via build.prop. The only way to make the google wallet to work as of right now is by temp. changing build.prop to nexus and switching it after overwriting the legit apk with modded one.....and this is not an easy process. So developers can't just integrate the wallet in the rom......it won't work. lmao

Yes, I would say so I would flash Rom,Kernel, modem the boot up then go back in to recovery and flash rom worked for me.
If it Doesn't I Flash Beans then use root uninstaller to back up the maps apk and stick it on your EXTSDCARD and go to recovery and wipe everything flash International Rom and the go to ES File Explorer and hit the menu button and go to tools/root explorer/Mount R/W and mount all RW NOT RO then go into the ES Explorer and go to Local and EXTSDCARD Then restore the Gmaps and it will ask to overwrite and say yes to all. Then reboot the Phone. When the Note II reboots then go to the Google Store and pick up GPS test its free and you can reset the AGPS and Update the AGPS Signals GO out side and get your Signal. If this doesn't work Try to Flash the Scotts GPS test Patch and should help. FYI I have had issues with the Global Mode popping up a lot and I went into the settings/more settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode and change to LTE/CDMA and then if you get Updating Sim Card info a lot at the bottom of the Screen Set it back to Global and should fix but you will still get the Switch to Global mode Message More I am still stuck how to fix that issue.

Have you tried getting a gps lock on another ROM, done a nandroid, re flashed desired ROM? Usually this fixes it. Or if you toggle between LTE/CDMA and Global under the Wireless & Networks this too sometimes helps.

So does this mean that an International ROM could be flashed followed by this and then the modem plus kernel?

Maybe Try it but most of the time I believe it would work but could need some other Verizon Libs.etc to work properly
International Roms for Note II
Just if anyone wants to play with the international roms they can be found Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1790
Think this fix will work on the minitabinternational ROM? I believe its base is still the same am I wrong. Mini tab is the only ROM I've ever had that GPS doesn't lock.
This did not work on JediX14... Still no gps signal, I've tried all the workarounds
I can confirm this didn't work on Sungsonic rom. I wiped everything, flashed rom, kernel, modem, vzw patch, gps fix no service.
Edit: probably was due to the Rom being an n7100 rom

I was able to put together a little fix and posted it here. It works for me on Moon, might work on other ROM's as well but I haven't tested it.

This worked on Novella rom but the lock is really slow
Edit: the lock was slow only at first try but almost instant lock after that.

@mjcollum presents:
MJ4 NATIVE HOTSPOT! (odex/deodex)
This is a working hotspot mod.
Thanks @wwjoshdew for the how-to video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdC_a5_ehWY
replace services.jar in system/framework.
THIS IS THE DEODEX version.
currently based on freeza's mj4 deodex stock rooted services.jar (thanks @freeza)
mod based off JoshBeach's previous work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2481448 (thanks @JoshBeach)
it appears the offsets had changed preventing the mi5 version from running. hopefully this fixes that. it appears the new offset is at line 6680.
THE VERSION IN THIS POST IS FOR STOCK ROOTED DEODEXED MJ4 ONLY! SEE POST BELOW FOR ODEXED VERSION
ODEX VERSION:
for those who don't want the screen animations or other tweaks,
this is a stock odex mj4 with the hotspot activated.
not a flashable zip. unzip.
works while keeping knox 0x0
just use a file explorer or adb to copy files into system/framework.
make sure r/w permission for /system is set.
rename old files or make backup first.
Edit.
If renaming the old files you must change the ending or your phone will hang.
So file.end becomes file.end.bak
Or file.old or whatever.
Services.jar to services.jar.bak is ok.
Services.odex to services.odex.bak is ok
Not fileback.end
Services.jar to servicesbak.jar is not ok and will hang your phone.
If you leave the .jar or .apk or.odex on your orig file it will still try and load. Causing a bootloop.
This can be fixed with adb. Look at pages 5/6
I'll give it a shot and report my findings.

Thank, for this! I'm in an area, with barely enough data bandwidth to reply to this post, so I can't test, until a little later.
You know, it would have been ridiculous, for you to have to download the entire rom, just for that one file. I don't understand how you can offer to help, but no one else wants to offer, just the tiniest bit of support, for something THEY requested.
Again, thanks!

Sorry you are the man. Lol you more than welcome to delete this thread. I just really went through this because I couldn't find a mj4 stock odex version yesterday and saw people were still asking for it. Figured you were busy and hadn't gotten to it.
thats also part of the problem with the sticky in my opinion no one knew it was updated and mj4 was up.
also still need a odex version which ill try and get to shortly.

Thanks man! seems to be working. I agree that having things all in that mega thread gets a bit confusing. I like the separate threads.
Ok now that it seems to be working for people I'll build up an odex version when I get home in a couple hours.

Use a file explorer with root access to copy into the system/framework folder.
Make sure to set permission to r/w.
I use es explorer
Others use root explorer.

Just be careful the couple versions before this locked my phone up. This one looks right and I think I got it working. But it may still lock up at boot screen.
I was able to adb back in though without flipping a knox flag or anything.

Hey everyone. I have attempted to build a working flex ROM for Verizon g2. Had a bootable ROM but had no working 4g data. Attempted to make ROM work with appropriate files to get data working but now it won't boot. Why. I don't know. I have asked for help from other builders for all the other variants with no response from them except for a very general point in the proverbial direction to no avail. @MicroMod777 of the awesome digital dream ROM in the Verizon forum has assisted me as well as @krazie1. @T.C.P and @Jeff Zaugg. So basically I am looking for someone to help resolve our issues. I would even be willing to come up with donations accordingly for time and knowledge to resolve these issues or even to just build a working ROM to share with the masses. Thank you all in advance for your time. ROM ON!!!!!

I don't even have my bootable base anymore. Forgot to make copy before I started modding it to get data working. Unfortunately I got work tomorrow. If I can get an uploaded bootable ROM then I can work on what isn't working. Sure wish there was a android kitchen for lg g2 to attempt doing this the way I would prefer. Plus this is effectively the first ROM in which I am doing this. Usually just editing and modding other Roms for myself. Hope I'm not biting of more than I can chew.

We started with a flex ROM and changed boot img libs/modules. Etc /permissions pertaining to Verizon also a build prop edited for it. Basically got a booting ROM with no data. Originally that was with tangjuns ROM. Then I tried starfighters and couldn't get it to boot. Now one of us is trying rayglobe. But we would defiantly love to have your help to get this off the ground. I asked in your thread about a Verizon version of aeon flux. Just trying to get some of these great Roms for our phones. You guys do great work and obviously help each other out. I am the new guy that chose this as my first project. Thanks for all you can do.

Some of you said you were having trouble getting the flex Rom to boot.
These are the steps i've taken:
In Android Development there is a thread by Tangjun269.
On page 13 of thread is a rom called Flex_Rayglob.zip 952.3 mb
I downloaded this rom it's got Gapps baked in and has the ugly black around the icons removed witch I think looks better.
I use root explorer to extract rom then I replaced these items from any one (your choice) of the stock rooted 12b builds in the Verizon section:
Extracting each one from 12b and dropping into extracted flex rom.
Boot.ing
META-INF
etc/apns-conf.xml
Lib/modules
Now zip rom, boot into recovery back up and flash.

No go tried contacts and phone.
if we can get these two jars to framework and actually boot, it might work.
/framework/com.verizon.settings.jar"/>
/framework/com.verizon.phone.jar"/>
everytime i flash them, or push them, the phone wont boot :/
I think we might have more luck if we disabled signature checks. That might be causing issues of being able to switch the apks over. I don't remember if you disable this In android policy.jar or services.jar
