Heating issues - HTC Droid DNA

I just switched from the note 2, and I've been using the dna for a couple of days now, I've noticed the phone gets very warm I was wondering if that's an issue with every dna or just a defective unit. Maybe it's a problem with the s4 pro cause I never had this issue with galaxy s3 or note 2

i dont have this issue with my DNA. when did this start happening? any new apps installed during that time?

No same apps I had on my note, just finished doing the update to the newest build hopefully that fixes the problem

My girlfriend has a Note 2 and I've compared battery temps and cpu temps. The DNA has always felt a lot warmer at equal temps. I wouldn't call it an issue though.

Galaxy S2 still good?

I'm thinking of upgrading my Nexus S, would the S2 be a good upgrade? I really don't care about bleeding edge stuff, I just want it to play the games I want it to and last the whole day (which shouldn't be a problem since I'm buying the extended battery) texting and such.

Yes. I can get 20+ hours on a charge, stock battery, stock rooted. I bought a galaxy nexus and couldn't play many games that I bought. Wimax will be around for a while and by the time you get bored with the s2, chances are that lte still won't be around in many areas. I'm only twenty minutes south of Boston and am not expecting sprint lte at the house...ever.

Yea it's still good. Can play all the games on the store. Can get up to 10 hrs screen time with the 2000mah battery apparently. I would consider the S3 though. At least look into it

Well, I live in Sweden (the first country that got LTE) and all the major cities and surrounding areas already have LTE coverage, but I don't care much for LTE since it drains battery like hell ATM. And our 3G is really fast compared to your 4G and probably Wimax/LTE too.

This phone (i9100) doesn't get WiMax.
EDIT: Also, this phone (which is GSM) doesn't work on Sprint. (a CDMA network)
(not that this matters to the OP....)

The S3 is really expensive compared to the S2, and I feel like it's a waste of money on benchmark performance.

I feel the s3 is not a worthy upgrade from an s2. I'm also all set with a device that knows when I'm looking at it.

Yea but it's quad core. It's future proof like the s2 was when it came out.. Thats why it has similar specs to the s2

Using the app, didn't realize the op was in Sweden. Regardless, I have the s2 and will more than likely be skipping the s3 cause it's not a huge upgrade here in the states(and it knows when I'm looking at it) and waiting to see what the next nexus offers

I tend to keep phones 'til they're obsolete so future proofing shouldn't be a problem.
Also, I think that quad core just adds to benchmarks, and real world use stays pretty much the same. The difference is minimal, with the dual core just being slightly slower in some transitions and actions.

There hasn't been anything that I couldn't do on the s2 so far. To me, the only reason to consider the s3 would be the new screen
Just upgraded from Nexus one to sgs2. Loving it. Feel like a huge upgrade. Sgs3 prob nice but money talk.

Yep upgraded a few days ago and this phone is still above many other newer phones

S3 screen lights up for no reason.

Hi guys i just realized that my s3's screen was lighting up again and again for no reason. There was no call or text. Its pretty strange and it drains my battery

I have seen that happen on my s3. After a while it goes away. I had it too on my gnex. I think it's some app that is running in the background. Was concerned at first but never did anything about it. Try installing GSAM battery monitor. It shows which process consumes the most battery. There are other apps better, but this one is free.

Thinking about the HTC one

I have the s4 thinking about the one due to some of the laggy issues. But people who have had the s4 or note 2 which is what I had before did you adapt to the smaller screen easier?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
Yeah smaller screen size did not take me long at all to adapt to, I had the s4 for a day before the one and a note 2 for a bit before I don't regret the move to the one at all.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I had the note 1 forever and then the note 2 and now the s4 I'm just worried I couldn't adapt to an even smaller screen and won't have a way to go back to the s4 incase I did not like it
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
I enjoy this size of screen completely... Boom sound and the better screen makes up for it!
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
If it was not for closet att store being an hour away I'd easily go play with one but I guess I will
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
It doesn't seem much different in size from the s4 to me honestly big change from the note but I adjusted fine
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I recently switched from Sprint to T-Mobile, before switching I asked them to try the network before I switched. They gave me a S3 to use. Using the S3 was great, but this HTC One really shines!

I never cared for the s3

[Q] DNA Overheating issues

Anyone else have issues with their phone getting super hot? Mines been up to 46°C, just from using it for about an hour. Its not rooted or anything. Completely stock.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
My phone did this last week. Im rooted and running CM10 had been for like 2+ months. I made a call on the speakerphone and the phone got extremely hot then my speakerphone blew out! Ended up getting a replacement.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Is the phone not being used or are you doing anything when it gets hot. This phone for me anyway hasn't gotten nearly as warm as my nexus 4

Mine gets up in the high 30s low 40s with normal usage.. pretty sure this is recent. Anyone want to trade a good DNA for cash haha I will probably sell this on swappa and get the One when its out for big red.

All phones get off under load. I've seen my old rezound get over 155F. DNA not so much.

Performance issues after 4.3 update

In general, I really don't see any difference in day to day usage after the latest update. However, one app that seems to lag really badly is words with friends. Man is it terrible now. I confirmed it wasn't just me. Same performance on my wife's s4 as well. My droid incredible handles it MUCH more smoothly, which is inexcusable. Anyone else see anything like this?

No. It's frustrating. It's not like it's a graphically intense game (evident by the fact that my incredible handles it no problem). Samsung needs to fix something.

Samsung should of let the newest os 4.4
on this phone.
