[Q] X10 mini pro - how to remove physical keyboard - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi!
I have problem with probably flex cable in my x10 mini pro.
When p. keyboard is slide out screen is freeze, after closing it all back to normal.
That was good because I could use phone w/o keyboard. But now all goes wrong. My screen is freaking out! Now after few minutes/seconds/hours of using screen is spliting, notification bar is on the middle of screen and phone is useless.
I tried to change rom, kernel etc and nothing helped.
Maybe is way to disable physical keyboard and make my phone to think that there is no keyboard like in normal x10 mini.
I've root, unlocked bootloader etc.
in system/app i don't see nothing that sounds like "hey! delete me and keyboard will be untouchable". So I need alot/some help.
If xda community and particulary you, will not know how to do this, nobody will help me

Yes, it's probably your flex which needs to be replaced.
Simply disabling your hw-keyboard is not going to work though, because the phone's hardware is actually underneath the keyboard and not in the part that holds the screen. Replacing the flex isn't that difficult though, search here or on youtube for guides of how to do that.

There is no solution to solve this by software modification?
At least I will do stuff according to Emperor.dk reply

[Q] X10 mini pro / CynaogenMOD6 3.2.1 / physical keyboard

I have problem with my x10 mini pro physical keyboard. It's simply does not work.
The problem started after flashing with CynaogenMOD 3.2 and then 3.2.1. Well it have been working for couple of days, but some day just stopped.
I did flash with se generic rom, and it didn't help at all.
I tried with IridiumRom with no help..
Get back Cynaogen again tried to mess with keyboad settings also without the result.
Keyboard works only when its half opened, also the screen orientation is changed then. So i guess i could be some hardware issue with the switcher which tells if keyboard is opened or closed. Anyway phone is new like 10 days. So i dont think that it would have any physical damage.
I also tried to install some DualTouch from forum before i noticed that its for X10 not mini
I'm about to get the phone on warranty but i wish to fix it by myself because i like to know what happend.
Did anyone has same problem?
I have got exactly the same problem as this post about my x10 mini pro's keyboard functionality. Anyone know what happens to it?
I have updated firmware by SEUS to v2.1 update 1. But nothing solved.
Hardware issue maybe? _ Not maybe... most likely.
There is keyboard setting. Try it.

Hmms, I downgraded it to v1.6 for checking. When fully slide out, my hardware keyboard is back to response again (can input by any key). But backlight still turn off in the dark and home screen does not rotate to lanscape. It does only when keyboard is partially slide out.
Maybe as ruifung reply is correct, hardware issue. Some sensor may have problem.
Thank you for all replies.

[Q] [Xperia Mini - ST15]Touchscreen lose my/your fingers!

Hi guys, sorry for my english, but I'm Italian(If you correct my mistakes make me a favor).
However,I tried 3 Xperia Mini and they have the same problem.
But this problem isn't mentioned anywhere.
You can see this problem when you play "Fruit Ninja" or when you use a free app called "Multi Touch Paint".
If you go very fast with your fingers, when you cut(Fruit Ninja)or when you draw(Paint) the touchscreen lose your fingers for a little moment.
You can see good this problem when you use Multi Touch Paint in "Kids Mode" because when you draw a continuous circle very fast,it changes color of your pen(the background change in any case)because it loses your fingers.
For me is a very great problem, because when I scroll fast vertical menu like the contacts, music or an alternative launcher(with a vertical menu)with my thumb,it loses my fingers and click something at random.
If you want an example, see this video of Sony Ericsson TXT Pro in this video minutes at 1:50:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUW0TNXjDB4
In the three Xperia Mini that I tried, the same thing happens but especially in vertical.
I sent my Xperia Mini to Sony Ericsson but I'm sure that it will come back with the same problem.
Any of you have the same problem?
Any of you has solve it?With CM7?
Try to use "Multi touch Paint" in "Kids Mode" and you will discovered if your device has this problem.
Do you have a protective layer on the mini ? (I mean the minis you've tried)
I don't know but maybe it has to do something with that. I have a protective layer on my screen, though I don't encounter big problems with it..
It only happens seldom, but it's annoying when it does, in both directions, horizontally and vertically scrolling

Nope.
Precisely,I had a first, but then I removed for this problem.
But the problem remains.
My Xperia Mini now is on Sony Ericsson's Support.
I hope they solved this problem.
But what I asked to my self...
How is it possible that nobody noticed this problem?
This for me is a huge problem, because make me difficult to use the phone with one hand.
And I could sell the phone for this.
EDIT: Ajsaz you have to explain if you made my test or not.
Vote without posting is useless.
I also have this problem. ,__,
Any fix?
yes, you are right!!!
but until I read this thread, I didn't notice that bug in normal usage, cause you must be VEEERY fast
I have this problem too. Have a look a this thread, pages 6 and 7. User skritikos had the phone fixed and posted the ticket he received from the Sony Ericsson assistance. Could be useful.

[Q] Stuck back key [xperia mini pro]

Hi! I've an issue on my xperia mini pro.
More than often the back key (which is a touch sensitive key) stops working.
I can't resolve this definitely. Things I tried:
- reset settings (does not work)
- total reset (works for a couple of weeks than the problem comes back)
- killing services with android system cleaner (works sometimes, I see that maybe is related to the process "Home of sony ericsson" -the stock launcher v2.1.x)
- switched to go launcher ex (worked for a full day, the problem came back)
- prevent various apps and services to startup (did not work)
- remove various apps and services (didn't work)
- update firmware to 2.3.4 (only solved the problem of the black screen that won't unlock)
what in the world should I do to fix this tedious issue?
tnx for answers, forgive me for my spaghetti english

Can you give me the link to the rom you installed? Works for me? (italy)
Must i root the phone before installing it?
tnx

Rom is pre-rooted, you will need to unlock bootloader and flash a different kernel.
Hardware keyboard will not be working, you'll need to get the files from the CM7 stable build for this.
I would not endorse going down this route unless you want to be running CM7 anyway, and there is no guarantee it will help.

thank you! You're right: I don't want to flash the previous version just to set up cm7! Not cause I don't like it but because with the previous version of the stock kernel I was having a much more big problem: the black screen (some others had the same problem).
Maybe I'll go on this way, waiting for ICS hoping it'll fix up everything!
btw, how's my english?
Maybe u r sweating or ur finger is kinda wet when u press it,our phone is unresponsive to fluid, except u buy an active
xperia mini pro! not active!
that would be true for the settings key too!
I think is a sort of bug of the rom... I'm getting it very often! damn!
I noticed that sometimes the screen light "shakes", like a vibration, and so the lights behing the touch keys...
the light sensor reacts to reflections of the light and shadows I make when using the phone. This is a minor thing but the back key sometimes makes really hard using the phone!

[MiniCM7Pro v21] Problem with symbols on default text imput

Hi
Another problem... again... android... always some problem with it.
When i press "sym-au" key on phisical keyboard and scroll all the way down it freezes and stays there. It is possible to disable it, but it wont move, or clicking in any symbol has no effect completely unresponsive.
On virtual keyboard the same... blocking and unblocking device helps also restart. But its frustrating to remember about it. Is it any solution ? On stock rom there was no such problem.

Scroll the last part slowly (scroll it with your finger, don't fling it), it will stay responsive, if it does freeze, doing a rotation from landscape to portrait will make it respond again.

NO, that ROM won't get any updates anymore, and the issue is present on just about all roms, apart from the original stock firmware. If it was easy to fix someone would have done that already, i guess, so i won't hold my breath.
Just think of it whenever you need something that's near the bottom, it's not that hard to live with.

Problem in double tap turn-on

Hello guys, I have a little problem with my Xperia Z2. When I do double tab on screen sometimes my Xperia Z2 don't turn-on.
Alsome know as fix this?
I am with Rom eXistenz, but when I was with Rom stock, also had this problem.
I'm sorry, I'm Brazilian and my English don't is good.
Thanks
This is a issue you have to tap on the same area where u did the first tap and it will unlock
I don't really use this feature anymore as for me, it only worked "properly" on 4.4 and since then I find it very unreliable to the point where there's no benefit of using it as taping 3-6 times on screen just to get it right isn't very convenient. It's really shame, since back in time of 4.4 I've pretty much used tap to wake exclusively. Not sure if there is any fix/sensitivity change... Would be nice though
You can use an app called ambient display when u pull your phone out of your pocket it will unlock by itself.must try that
Thanks for all answers.
