Ok can I ask what is causing this bizarre problem?(see attachment) the rest of the screen responds to touch with no lag or any trouble whatsoever but the bottom few line are totally unresponsive!!...any ideas to what might be the problem?is the touch slowly dying line by line??...a zombie virus?..water or any other elemental problem??...the pouch i use exerts excessive pressure on the bottom part of the phone could that cause such problem?
the screen shot is of service menu touchscreen test!...

Hey guys,
My screen woes just won't go away. I dropped my phone a few weeks back and cracked the screen. Ordered a new one from eBay (Item number: 260818538062) with the faceplate and everything. Had it installed but then started noticing that SWYPE wasn't working as well because my words would start breaking midway. Installed Yet Another Multi Touch Test and when trying to paint realized that there is a very evident line on my screen that isn't working as well. That was one continuous movement of slow up and down jestures but as you can see, the touch sensitivity is much weaker as well as the screen sensing a second touch at some point.
What can I do? I will gladly take the thing apart and clean the connectors.. if that will help. But somehow am inclined to believe that the issue lies with the screen. Is there a software recalibration fix that exists perhaps? Anyone experienced the same thing and walked away with a working solution?
Please help and thank you in advance.
(EDIT) I've added a second attachment where I started going around the outer edges working my way in, there's definitely one faulty line in my screen!
(EDIT2) Found a native Android touchscreen test (white and green) thanks to a member named BryanNL in a different post. Basically had to dial *#0*# and chose it from a menu. This test claimed that I passed but you can see that it is not made to tackle an issue like mine.
Bumping.. Anyone please.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem, or maybe just the screen protector. Sometimes the area triggered isn't the one I touched. So if I touch the bottom of the screen, it will be recorded as the middle of the screen. Very annoying. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen often. It will go away if I just quit the current application.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem?
I got the DNA on launch day and had not one issue with the touch screen. As soon as I Unlocked and Rooted it, one portion of the touch screen does not respond to touch. I used the pointer test in Developer settings and it just skips over the area. It is over the "M" key on the keyboard making it impossible to hit "M". Anyone else have this issue and is there a way to fix this as I feel this is a software issue, not hardware.
hi there
I've got some strange issue with my lcd screen on my atrix. Everything is on this video(sorry for quality):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbMsmbblXLc
I don't know what to do- i don't have my warranty because of unlocked bootloader(in Poland they are very strict and surely they won't fix this on warranty.
So the issue is: when i touch near front camera/ front speaker the virtual finger appears. The second thing is that when i touch in showed area
there are 2 touches from one finger. It isn't a rom issue because it is on all roms i've tested.
If you have any idea what should i do please write it
Thanks in advance for any help
I'd say your digitizer is dying. Except unlike most others where a part of the digitizer stops registering touches, yours registers multiple touches. Either way, I believe buying and installing a new digitizer would fix this problem.
After a night which phone spent in home there is no additional touch in this line. Of course the issue with touching near camera didin't disappear.
Maybe it is because of very low temperatures in Poland nowadays and i think there can be some water inside of phone. But as you said
i'll think about changing digitizer
So I have had my ZU for almost two weeks now and loving it, however something has started to get on my nerves and I'm afraid I have something wrong with my phone. I know I shouldn't get so nitpicky but I spent heaps of my hard earned student cash on this phone and I want it to be running smoothly!
Anyway, from about day three of having my phone I started noticing erratic screen behaviour like phantom screen input - as though when the screen of any regular phone has water droplets on the screen and the screen goes haywire, however in my case the screen is completely dry? It usually goes away after I lock the screen but it gets rather annoying when I am typing a text and then all of a sudden all these random keys and words start being typed (and not by me!), so I would like to know has anyone encountered this problem?
My phone is stock rom and has not been rooted. I don't have a screen protector nor have I used any other styli other than my fingers.
My phone is bone dry and I live in summery Australia so air humidity can't be a factor. And I'm pretty sure there's no ghosts in my house!
On the current build .136
What should I do? Is this a faulty screen? I have checked other topics regarding this and my issue doesn't involve any lag or latency between from my own keystrokes than to those done by screen.

Build 290 and 136 got rid of this problem for most users. Give the screen a good clean
You could also search for a thread by hamdogg (or at least he commented on it) about a edit in the system to lower the touchpanel sensitivity - but will need root.
