Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!
We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...
So let's start!
Main MenuIn our main menu you will find:
* Backup Tool
* ROM Cleaner
--- ROM Cleaner (Sense)
--- ROM Cleaner (NO-Sense)
--- ROM Cleaner (CM-AOSP)
--- Skip cleaning step
* Additional Scripts
--- Settings Restorer
--- Setup Wizard Remover
--- Apps & Mods Installer
--- Run all scripts in one GO!
* Logs collection
* Advanced Power Menu
Backup Tool
Will backup:
-*- Applications (Not app data)
-*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
-*- Bluetooth pairings
-*- HTC Sense launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
-*- HTC Mail accounts (including Inbox)
-*- WiFi keys
Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe
How to apply:
--- Open ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
--- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...
ROM CleanerFlashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!
-*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
-*- Start ROM Cleaner AROMA and pick "ROM Cleaner"
-*- Pick "Sense", "NO-Sense" or "CM-AOSP" script, press Next
-*- "NO-Sense" users will get a launcher menu and the option to use HTC lockscreen or AOSP lockscreen
-*- "CM-AOSP" users will get a launcher menu
-*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
-*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
-*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal
Skip cleaning step
If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.
Additional ScriptsImportant Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!
* Settings Restorer > This script will restore data already saved with Backup Tool
* HTC Setup Wizard Remover > This script will remove the HTC Setup Wizard. IT's pointless to have once your phone is set up
* Apps & Mods Installer > This is a batch install script. Apps, mods, files in /sdcard/ROMCleaner/SecondBoot will be installed when you use this script
* Run All scripts in one GO! > This is a batch install for all scripts in this menu
Logs Collection
Use this option when we request logs from you.
This script will collect all needed logs + "*user.txt" and create "RC_LogCollector.tar" in ROMCleaner folder. Upload this file and send it to us on XDA or IRC.
Advanced Power Menu
In this menu you will find the following options:
* Reboot your device
* Exit to Recovery
* Reboot to Bootloader
* Enable Mobile Network
How To Edit Your Personal User.txtSteps you need to do:
--- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
--- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt" or "NO-Sense_user.txt" from the firstpost
--- Open the text file with Notepad++
In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.
To Remove a file with ROMCleaner
Code:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep a file with ROMCleaner
If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
Code:
[COLOR=red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:
--- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
--- Copy the file onto your sdcard. The file must be located in "/sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder.
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!Easy?Yes? Good because this is and should be easy

no sense and sense should work but as i said issues may appear.
After running the cleaner I noticed that my blinkfeed isn't working right. It's constantly updating and under services all the presets are gone.

Np
I'm not sure if they tried to dirty flash it yet
But it will for sure be sorted soon, GuyAdams is on it already
And after a fullwipe and running it, blinkfeed is behaving the same.
I'm still waiting for an upgrade from my carrier before flashing the "combo de la muerte" (aka ARHD+RC).
Anyway I'm very happy to see this project go on. Rest in peace, Patrics83, your legacy will live forever!
After cleaning i have looking for my payed applications, they are all gone but when i want to reinstall them from my backup folder says that application is already installed, funny.

Guide & Info
Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!
We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...
So let's start!
Main Menu
In our main menu you will find:
* Backup Tool
* ROM Cleaner
--- ROM Cleaner
--- Skip Cleaning Step
* Additional Scripts
--- Settings Restorer
--- Setup Wizard Remover
--- Apps & Mods Installer
--- Run all scripts in one GO!
* Log Collection
* Advanced Power Menu
ROM Cleaner
Flashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!
-*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
-*- Flash ROM Cleaner and press "ROM Cleaner"
-*- Pick "ROM Cleaner" or "CM-AOSP" script, then press Next
-*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
-*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
-*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal.
Skip cleaning step
If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.
How To Edit Your Personal User.txt
Steps you need to do:
--- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
--- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt" or "CM-AOSP_user.txt" (from the download post)
--- Open the text file with Notepad++
--- Edit the file on your Android device: DroidEdit (Free)
In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.
To Remove a file with ROMCleaner
Code:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
Code:
[COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:
--- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
--- Copy the file onto your external sdcard or internal sdcard. The file must be located in "/internal or external sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder. ( "/../ROMCleaner/ROMCleaner_user.txt" )
---If you don't have a ROMCleaner folder yet or are unsure about what's internal or external sdcard. Please flash ROM Cleaner zip in recovery.
By doing so, needed folders will be created. Reboot your device from "Advanced Power Menu"
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!
Backup Tool
Will backup:
-*- Applications (Not app data)
-*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
-*- Bluetooth pairings
-*- TouchWiz launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
-*- Mail accounts (including Inbox)
-*- WiFi keys
Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe
How to apply:
--- Flash ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
--- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...
Additional Scripts

I`am not a noob i hope but i`am not 100% sure on how to use this Cleaner and i`am afraid you will be flooded with questions, issues and worse.

First of all Thank YOU for all the help!
And yes a video review or something would be crazy cool! Too bad I don't have a good camera... :/
I would really appreciate if someone could make a review!
As mentioned in the OP, right now we refer to the guide in aroma...
But I will soon post same guide in the 2nd post.
Steps you need to do:
* Windows users, download Notepad++
Then install it.
* Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt"
* Open the text file with Notepad++
In the text file you will find two columns
with app names and a description:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
#AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits.
Then press the "X" in the upper right corner of the
screen to save the changes.
Now copy the file onto your sdcard.
The file must be located in "/extSDcard/ROMCleaner" folder.
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read from that file!
Played around with the Cleaner script and gona try it now.

Sounds good
Is it enough to name the specific apk for deletion or do i also have to name the description of that apk

Only apk name is needed, the ROM Cleaner program will stop reading from the file after ".apk"
For files you need to write the full path like this:
"/system/app/appname.apk"
This is also mentioned in the ROMCleaner_user.txt
Description is only for the users to know what the app does...
Please if you find more apps, let us know...
This initial release is just to get the development up n running

I tried it but it didn't read my user file in the ext sd folder so it just ran the default txt file. Now it could be my own mistake but I did use notepad++ to edit it and save it in the extsd / romcleaner folder as per instructions. But I'm using Touch CWM though, does that affect anything?

How to apply:

-*- Pick "Sense" or "NO-Sense" script, press Next
-*- "NO-Sense" users will get a launcher menu and the option to use HTC lockscreen or AOSP lockscreen
-*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
-*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
-*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal
Skip cleaning step
If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.
Additional Scripts
Important Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!
* If you disabled HTC lockscreen, an option to re-enable HTC lockscreen will appear in this menu
* Reboot your device
* Exit to Recovery
* Reboot to Bootloader
* Enable Mobile Network
How To Edit Your Personal User.txt
Steps you need to do:
--- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
--- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt" or "NO-Sense_user.txt" from the firstpost
--- Open the text file with Notepad++
In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.
To Remove a file with ROMCleaner
Code:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
Code:
[COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:
--- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
--- Copy the file onto your sdcard. The file must be located in "/sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder.
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!

Ok just so im clear i just dl the zip and run it thru recovery just like i would with lets say a superwipe script or do i use script manager or terminal to run it or do i need a comp. Its probably that im just thinking to much about it and how it works that the directions are confusing me lol. On another note thank you for this tool as it will save alot of time when setting up a new rom.

Lol you are over analyzing.. before anything nandroid 2nd run the backup tool, then your normal flashing routine, run RC immediately after the rom & Themes installation. After 1st boot, sign in the play store then run rom cleaner one last time and choose additional scripts to restore settings and such then you're done. I'm out and about right now but I'll make a detailed description on what to do once I get home later today.
If there are any questions feel free to pm me, ill be checking in to help out throughout the day

It's a flashable zip just like a ROM.zip just like banccalif said.
Follow the guide in 2nd post and you should be fine
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here...
Good luck!
So this is used while booted into a rom, not while in recovery correct? If i wanted to backup i would run this tool while booted in my current rom. Then in recovery wipe and install new rom/rom version. After booted run tool again to remove bloat etc and to recover my settings etc. Does that sound correct?

There are more options to get to YOUR optimal setup, but first download the .zip and copy it to your phone. In short some options:
ROM Cleaner only:
--- Run the .zip from recovery after a superwipe+clean install of your new ROM and choose ROMcleaner in main menu. (before first boot)
--- Reboot from Advanced Power Menu.
--- Enjoy
Backup/restore together with ROM Cleaner:
--- Run the .zip from recovery while you're on your old rom and do a backup. Pick Backup from Main Menu
--- Run the .zip again from recovery after a superwipe+clean install of your new rom (before first boot)
--- Reboot
--- Do the setup and login @GMail
--- Reboot
--- Run .zip again from recovery and pick restore from Additional Scripts >> Run all scripts in one GO!
--- Reboot from Advanced Power Menu
--- Enjoy
As stated, there are more varieties you can use, but these two are most used by users on other devices.
I hope this answers your question...

I appreciate the help. I couldnt wrap my head around the process. This really helps!
---------- Post added at 10:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 AM ----------
Another question. Is there a way to pick what we want to backup in the backup menu? Say i only want to backup sense launcher and nothing else, is that possible or does backup always backup everything listed in the op?
You may want to change the requirements to include TWRP recovery, as we don't have 4EXT or a working CWM on this device yet.
It'll stop a lot of questions about it in the thread. Just sayin'.

Be sure to run the backup tool in recovery PRIOR to wiping and flashing your rom. You will need to use the backup tool every time you want to update/flash a new rom because after the backups install they are deleted.
The backup tool backs up all User apps, if you wanted to backup sense Launcher solely you'd have to use tb or mybackup pro. And remember it doesn't backup any data at all so one of those apps are necessary still

Now there is no possibility to choose what to backup (yet), as bancclif said, but there is actually a workaround so you can choose what to restore.
If you make a run the backup, a few TAR-files will be created in sdcard/ROMCleaner/Backup:
--- HTC_Launcher.TAR
--- WiFi_Backup.TAR
--- Android_Email.TAR
--- Accounts.TAR
--- BT_Backup.TAR
As you know, the backup has to be created on a running ROM. If you actuallu ran the backup feature, you can navigate to the /sdcard/ROMCleaner/backup folder and Delete the TAR files you don't want to have restored. If the restore feature is used, it will check if the TAR files are there and restore all TAR-files present.
If the TAR is not available, the script will skip the TAR-file and go on to the next one. Just fooling the script.....
The reason why I tell this, is that HTC Launcher backups/restores the layout including third party widgets. And that's a unique feature (not supported by any other backup app imho).
The apps will be backed up in /sdcard/ROMCleaner/Backup/data/app/. And for this it's the same: If there are apps you don't want to restore, just delete them before you wipe/flash new ROM.
Cheers!

Actually, Backups will only be deleted when you run backup tool again. So basically you can use same backup several times... But, if you want to be sure you backup your latest apps and setting, you can choose to do it every new flash.

I like. When I have a couple of hours to play I am going to try this. This is better than what I was trying to accomplish with a batch file.

Important:
- If you get some kind of issue after flashing ROM Cleaner, re-flash the ROM and check if the issue still exists.
- Don't spam ROM development threads about issues caused by this script.
- Always report problems in this thread and we will most likely help you as fast as we can.
- Please always respect our work and be friendly and helpful to other members in this thread.
How to report a problem:
- Flash ROMCleaner_vX.X.zip in recovery
- In main menu and press "Log Collection".
- When done, reboot the device from "Advanced Power Menu".
- In "/external or internal sdcard/ROMCleaner" you will find RC_LogCollection.*.tar. Please upload this file together with a description of your problem.
With this log we can in - most cases - solve your problem within minutes!
If you ignore this simple instruction, you will most likely get no help from us!

If no external sdcard can be found, internal sdcard will be used.

Guide & Info
Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!
We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...
So let's start!
Video review by TheSmokingAndroid
Main Menu
In our main menu you will find:
* Backup Tool
* ROM Cleaner
--- ROM Cleaner
--- Skip cleaning step
* Additional Scripts
--- Settings Restorer
--- Setup Wizard Remover
--- Apps & Mods Installer
--- Run all scripts in one GO!
* Logs collection
* Advanced Power Menu
Backup Tool
Will backup:
-*- Applications (Not app data)
-*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
-*- Bluetooth pairings
-*- TocuhWiz launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
-*- Mail accounts (including Inbox)
-*- WiFi keys
Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe
How to apply:
--- Open ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
--- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...
ROM Cleaner
Flashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!
-*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
-*- Start ROM Cleaner AROMA and pick "ROM Cleaner"
-*- Pick "ROM Cleaner" script, press Next
-*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
-*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
-*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal
Skip cleaning step
If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.
Additional Scripts
Important Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!
* Settings Restorer > This script will restore data already saved with Backup Tool
* Setup Wizard Remover > This script will remove the Setup Wizard
* Apps & Mods Installer > This is a batch install script. Apps, mods, files in /extSDcard/ROMCleaner/SecondBoot will be installed when you use this script
* Reboot your device
* Exit to Recovery
* Enable Mobile Network
How To Edit Your Personal User.txt
Steps you need to do:
--- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
--- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt"
--- Open the text file with Notepad++
In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.
To Remove a file with ROMCleaner
Code:
AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.
To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
Code:
[COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk Adobe Reader PDF reader
Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:
--- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
--- Copy the file onto your extSDcard. The file must be located in "/internal or external sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder.
Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!

One other device support by ROMcleaner . the user of GNII are very lucky . ROMCleaner make your ROM lighter , faster and smoother .
Great work again Patrics83
I ran twice in order to understand all of its features. I love the backup tool with third party applications. ..due to my tons of widget. ..and home screen settings. Actually I do not have any bloatware so the cleaner runs and doesn't clean anything of course, but it is fully customizable and when I will Flash next rom I will use your cleaner for sure.
It is very fast!

Np, you can restore it when ever you want as long you don't do it before first boot.
First boot = after full wipe and ROM flash
Edit: Read this and you will understand why it has to be done this way.

Thank you very much!
Q: MD5, what is it, and what it does?
A: It ensures that the file is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid issues when installing/using it.
Q: Do I need to perform a full wipe when upgrading from old version of your ROM?
A: I always recommend to perform a full wipe, but if I didn't mention that it's mandatory, you can live without it. Perform a full if you experience any issues.
Q: After flashing the ROM my phone stucks on splash screen / bootloop?
A: Make sure you flashed the correct boot.img, and try the command 'fastboot erase cache'.
Q: What is the boot.img, and why we need to flash it?
A: The boot.img is the kernel, and have to be flashed in order to boot the ROM. S-ON devices are not allowed to install the kernel directly when installing the ROM in recovery, and that's why you have to flash it manually from fastboot mode.
Q: My computer doesn't recognize my device?
A: Download and install latest HTC Sync Manager from here.
Q: How can I remove 3-dot menu and remap recent apps button to menu?
A: Go to Settings->Display, gestures & buttons->Recent apps button.
Q: Why memory optimization option in settings doesn't work?
A: Because USB debugging is enabled. To disable it go to Settings->Developer options->Turn off USB debugging.
Q: Several HTC widgets are missing?
A: Download and flash Widget Scanner.
Q: Widgets disappears from homescreen after reboot?
A: Download and flash Home Screen Saver.
Q: My benchmark score is not as high as on different ROMs. What does it mean?
A: It means absolutely nothing. Benchmarks on Android are more or less lottery, and they are not showing the real system performance. There are many tweaks that can force benchmark apps to show higher score, but it's faked performance, that can actually slow down your phone in some circumstances. What I always emphasize is a real performance, the one you can feel under your fingers. Remember that I/O has some limit and surpassing it shows just a numbers without true ratio.

I think you should specify on the top of the OP that this is not for ATT. Hopefully they will split forums for the HOX+ development and add a seperate ATT forum, but until then there will be plenty of havoc over all of these dev threads that are not specific on which device they are for.
Dont mean to bust balls, but Noobs are noobs.

I was going to say the exact same thing. I was quite excited about this new rom release today..Just new it had to be the first one for ATT.
(deleted about 4 paragraphs of rant, decided it was not the OPs fault that XDA has ATT people in with International, shouldn't hijack his thread, i'll start a new thread for the rant lol)

First of all - I didn't want to put it in development section (or any separate thread), but some guys told me, that my post with that "rom" is easy to miss in the firmware thread. So i put it here, forgive me
Maybe somebody will use it waiting for our modders to finish their job (anyway - probably it is first custom rom based on XXMF1 for ACE II in the world)
Disclaimer: I take no resposibility if something will go... not as it supposed to
Now based on GT-I8160 firmware: Jelly Bean I8160XXMG2 (Russia). You should flash that firmware via odin first. It should work on any JB firmware, but not tested.
Specs:
- Rooted
- BusyBox
- Deodexed
- Zipaligned
- init.d support (needs confirmation)
- All apps in /preload *
- many apps deleted (all available in separate package).
- 4 apk's (Gmail, maps, youtube, g+) moved to /preload/Common_app/. Why? because that apps are updated (via google play) very often. So I wanted to have it in /data. And these apps are installed automatically AFTER factory reset.
- Apps are not updated (with exception of supersu).
- Power on/off sound deleted
Warning! Sometimes installation wizard stucks at 0%. Remove battery and try again (I can't track what triggers it. It could be error in aroma installer itself or maybe our lovely aces are that unique)

Like my work? Donate to me:
* There is difference between my solution and others, used in custom roms for ACE II: I didn't make symlinks for every apk separately, but instead of this - /system/app folder is symlinked to /preload/symlink/system/app. Why? Because it's much easier.
Pros: You just put .apk into /preload/system/app, give proper permissions and reboot, don't have to create symlink if you want to add some system apps.
Cons: - you cannot use modification packages made for previous roms.
- you cannot use /system/app for... system/app anymore. some space is unused (however you can put some media there for example).

- Samsung - for a decent phone

- kyrillos13 - for Ripple Effect, other mods and some help with kitchen
- mkel91, Dr01nE - for various help
- Harbir, demkantor - for help with aroma-config
Let's start with few words of explanation. Some time ago, when i was bit tired fighting with AROMA installer configurations (main feature of latest "Minimal by Judas77 ROMS"), i decided to go back to the roots of my work: really minimal ROM, where simplicity matters, without additional features. With some tweaks to make it even better.
Another reason was connected to releasing another XXMG2 firmware by Samsung: polish firmware - XEO (as you can see here and there - i'm Pole). Differences between MG2 SER (which was base for my latest Minimal by Judas77 ROM) and MG2 XEO (polish) shouldn't bother you at all, unless you are Pole too).
Basically - it was much easier for me to do fully debloated - simple ROM than another extended version of AROMA based ROM...
But i didn't want to abandon AROMA installer for good, so my next ROM wasn't supposed to be another "Minimal by Judas77" version.
I named it "(Minimal) Gaiden" (which means "side story" in japanese), and released it only on some polish android forum.
Some day, on that forum, we discussed about system apps, that could be safely removed. One guy finds out, that list available on XDA (Ace 2 subforum) insn't actually available anymore). So i decided to make new, up-to-date list. "The fruit" of my work - new list of all system apps from 4.1.2. stock JB firmware was warmly accepted.
At that time i was still fighting with init.d support and issues caused by formatting /system BEFORE new ROM installation.
After fixing that issues (in unreleased versions of ROMs from "Gaiden" tree: N-and-ROM and Minimal-X) - i decided to use abovementioned list to make my "almost ultimate" minimal ROM, deleting almost all apps that could be deleted. (I planned to delete all apps that can be replaced using apps from google play in "ultimate" version [music player, callendar, video player, etc.] - it could be a pretty good base for customising phone by oneself).
And here it is: Minimal ZERO.
If you prefer original Samsung look and "don't trust" other custom (CM based) ROMS, you (hopefully) find my latest ROM interesting.
ROM features:
- Based on Android 4.1.2. MG2 - XEO (Poland)
- Rooted
- Fully deodexed and zipaligned
- Busybox added
- Init.d support
- Almost totally debloated*
- Ad-blocked
- Some apps installed in /data/app
- Some scripts (init.d, build.prop) added
- NO MORE /PRELOAD. All apps moved to /system/app. Pros?
* You don't have to think about that "symlink stuff" anymore (but you can)
* Titanium Backup fully working (TB doesn't remove apps from /preload/symlink/system/app)
* Full system backup via CWM Recovery (recovery doesn't make /preload backup at all)
Changelog:
Minimal-ZERO [20-08-2013]
* "Ultimate debloating" [most of "unneaded" apps deleted, including Google Apps (Google Maps, Google Plus, Google Now. You can install it from Google Play)
* NO MORE PRELOAD - all system apps fit on /system/app (Pro's listed above). You can still use "symlink method" to restore some apps using /preload partition
* You Tube and Google Mail apps moved to /data/app
* Some tweaks/scripts added:
- Modified MinFree Values [init.d, thanks to Kyrillos13 for showing a way to do it]
- Modified Read Ahead Parameter (It supposed to speed up micro sd card transfer, needs confirmation) [init.d]
- Ringtone playback lag during incoming calls removed[build.prop]
- Some mobile data tweaks (needs confirmation) [build.prop]
- Heapsize and Dalvik Tweaks (some values "borrowed" from Slim Bean ROM) [build.prop]
- Bootanimation Restored [build.prop]
Minimal-X (unreleased) [09-08-2013]
* Additional debloating (apps and libs), based on my "safe to delete apps" list, released on Polish Android Forum
* Some tweaks added:
- Bootanimation turned off[build.prop]
- Ringtone playback lag during incoming calls removed[build.prop]
- Some mobile data tweaks (needs confirmation) [build.prop]
- Heapsize and Dalvik Tweaks (some values "borrowed" from Slim Bean ROM) [build.prop]
N-and-ROM (unreleased) [02-08-2013]
* Init.d support (FINALLY) fixed and added
* Manual /System partition FORMAT (advised before installation of the ROM) will not cause RIL issues (no telephony, no mobile data) anymore
Minimal Gaiden (released only on Polish Android Forum[28-07-2013]
* Based on Android 4.1.2. MG2 - XEO (Poland)
* Rooted (zaktualizowany Superuser od Chainfire)
* Many of system apps deleted
* Fully Deodexed
* Zipaligned
* Updated Google Apps* (Google Mail, Google Plus, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Play, Google Services, Google Search/Google Now, etc.)
* Ad-free - updated host file (thanks to BSDgeek_Jake)
* Modified android.policy.jar (thanks to Kyrillos13), adding some tweaks:
- 4-way reboot (normal, hot reboot, reboot to recovery, reboot to download mode)
- No lag home button -* [aktywowanych podwójnym wciśnięciem klawisza Home)
- Long Press back button kills active application
* Busybox added
* All apps moved to /preload/symlink/system/app

Installation guide for Minimal ZERO:
1. Install temporary CWM Recover(or use kernel with CWM Recovery, newest D-Kernel strongly recommended)
2. Choose "format system" from "mount and storage" submenu
3. Wipe data/factory reset [optional, but strongly advised. Do not write about ROM issues without doing that step of installation guide]
4. Install zip from sdcard.
5. Reboot (reboot to system).
5a. You will end up with screen with one "YES" and many "NO" choices - pick any "NO"
5b. If phone reboots into stock recovery - choose "reboot to system" again.
6. Enjoy of pure Samsung "light" experience
WARNING! Do not perform "wipe data / factory reset" AFTER installation (some seem to like that behaviour) - you will loose Gmail and YouTube apps (still available in Google Play though)
WARNING II - This ROM is really "thin" compared to stock Samsung firmware. It will work flawlessly (tested by me, confirmed by many of polish Ace 2 users), but some (non-vital) features are missing.
Do not ask here "why KIES doesn't see my phone", "why my notes aren't synchronised", "Where is an E-mail application", and so on - all that kind of posts will be IGNORED.

Good job. Keep it up!
So basically this means the ROM can't be modified? Nothing can be themed? LOL. I was expecting to use this but anyways. Great Job!
@up
of course it can be modified/themed. you just need to do some easy changes in updater script of mod packages.
To make it short: you can use only preload/symlink/system/app, not /system/app and don't have to manually write symlinks in the script...
Why you don't create this thread in development section??
sent from my galaxy ace II running veyron rom CM10
Because i am a moron with too many opened browser tabs. (already asked moderators for moving topic to development).
nice job why don't mount preload can have bootloop?

I'm not sure if XTheme supports preload though. (-__-")
I'm not an expert but that kind of symlink makes system recognize folder /preload/symlink/system/app as /system/app
You can use the create_preload_symlinks from dsixda's kitchen. You can use it as init.d script and it will symlink all apk files from /preload/symlink/system/app to /system/app every boot.
Btw, I am going to release my own custom rom soon.
@up
Init.d you say... i was wondering how to use that damned create_preload_symlinks script. thank you.
so basically i only should enable init.d support, put there create_preload_symlinks (rename it like 04preload or its not neccesary?).
Yup. I don't think you have to rename it. I think it's good to be used as init.d script just because if you put an apk in preload/symlink/system/app and reboot it will appear in /system/app. Ans btw what is that init.d support that you have tried to include but not working?
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
If I put new apk to preload/symlink/system/app and reboot - the app will be available with my way of symlinking too.
And yes, enabling init.d via kitchen doesn't work (there is possibility that I deleted something from the script, but other guys confirmed that it doesn't work)
Wysyłane z mojego GT-I8160 za pomocą Tapatalk 2
Ok so we need to find another way for init.d (Without app)
Guys, could somebody check gps signal? I changed satellites settings to nearest one and gps status barely finds one satellite. I didn't use gps for long time. I know that there was similar problems on sakura cm. I hope that there isn't something "bad" that stays in phone even after Odin flash
