Blinkfeed - AT&T HTC One (M7)

i like blinkfeed and of course everyone might not. But i would like not to use the native twitter app. Also add a feed for google plus and instagram and a few others would be kool. Does anyone else see a problem with the radio switching from hspa+ to lte alot using certain apps?

What exactly does 'Sense' mean?

From what I have found here, I believe that 'Sense' is simply additional eye candy and pretty animated widgets (i.e. Weather). Is my understanding correct? Thanks in advance for your replies and have a great day!
Thanks,

Sense does add a lot of eye candy, but it also has a lot of deep intergration into the phones core features. Most of not all the intergration can be added to stock android via 3rd party apps.
As an example Sense uses a different bluetooth stack than stock android, it makes it easy to use but it also lacks certain profiles like being able to connect the wii mote to your phone.
A better example is simply the way sense handles contacts. Over all I think the experience you have using sense is much better than stock android.
HTC has done a very good job giving the mass market what they want in a phone; something that is more polished than stock android and adds all the function they want to have with out needed to download a ton of apps.
Now if you are one that wants to control every detail of the phone and have time to go find the app that does exactly what you want it to do then aosp roms or stock android is best for you.

It's not just a different stack, they use an older (broken) version of the bluetooth protocol, which is why some things do not work. Some of the kernel modders for the thunderbolt updated it though I believe.
you know, the 5 senses.. the ultimate in... sensation!
/me can only dream anyway
sense is what htc runs on top of stock andoird. it adds a dock lockscreens, widgets, etc, as you said eye candy. and like the guy above said they have there own kernel that controls bluetooth other stuff. because it runs on top of android sense roms are generally larger and some lag more but it really depends on the rom. for example synergy roms are faster than some aosp roms that ive used.
I haven't seen anything (free) other than Sense that can pull all the contact information from my company Exchange server. Everything I've tried only gets the email address, not physical address and phone numbers.
It's one of the main things that keeps me away from running CM7.

Sense also has one of the few emails clients I know of that can actually correctly forward emails and attachments. Every time I tried with CM7 it just plain wouldn't forward crap, not the email, not the attachment. Sense? Forwards both like it should. Plus it does email zooming so that those pesky HTML emails get resized and can be scrolled around better than the AOSP email client in CM7.
Note: I am talking about "Email" not "Gmail" which if Google made the email app a user app instead of a system app, they could maybe fix the issue across the board.
The Sense UI also has great social network integration. No need to download a facebook or twitter app, just sign in through the Accounts and Sync and use the built-in apps. Even those contacts sync with your phone contacts.

[Q] Best gtalk client for Lumia 920

Hi,
I am using a Lumia 800 as well as a Lumia 920. What i'd like to know is what options do i have when it comes to google talk clients for Windows Phone 8 and which of them is the best.
On my 800, I am using the 'JiTalk' app. Its working completely fine. However, with wp8 and support for lock screen notifications I was wondering if there is any other better client out there that can support these new features along with standard requirements like push notifications, etc.
Any help is appreciated.
Edit: Being a WP user for quite some time now, I am aware of all alternatives for gtalk like skype, messenger, fb chat integration, etc. So please avoid giving these suggestions. Its just that I have a long list of people on google who I cant shift to any other service so need a solution for it.
Having an Android phone I was in the same boat as you, looking for a good Gtalk client.
I tried gchat but found it to be quite unstable, and often doing weird things. Though based on comments that may be because it's not tested on WP8 yet.
Then I installed IM+ and it's excellent. It supports multiple chat protocols, and it has a very good feature set. It does crash from time to time when opening the full app, but I find the push notifications work well and overall I'm very happy with it. So much so I purchased the full version (the free one is ad suported).
jiTalk works best for me. YMMV

Yup. Sticking to JiTalk. Seems to work fine for me as well. The only issue is at present it support only one account at a time.

YouTube Live Broadcast and Multipath TCP?

These are 2 big reasons I opted for the S6 Edge +. Does anyone know how to setup / enable these thing? I know Verizon is a huge fan of disabling advertised features, and not bothering to even offer an explanation.
-Thanks
Ok, so I realized that YouTube Live Broadcast needs to be initiated from within the camera app, not the YouTube app. Makes sense I suppose. I'm hoping this can be made to be as automated as a Ustream Instant broadcast. Maybe setup a widget to instantly broadcast and invite people. We'll see.
Still not finding much on Multipath TCP, which my understanding is, is like Download Booster just expanded to bridge Wi-Fi and LTE to improve all data.
-thanks

ATT Version only launches DirectTV?

Is there really no setting or config that I can get the default normal Samsung View TVServices page? I have ATT but I have TimeWarner and would prefer to have that quick menu for twitch/TimeWarner/HBOGo.....but literally any and everywhere I click it launches DirectTV. If anyone has any suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated!
Nope. On the AT&T version DIRECTV is hard-coded as the app launched as the Streaming home page. I deactivated it and disabled the little streaming launcher icon. Like you, I'd like to use it for the other streaming channels on it also but it is what it is. We have LTE through and no other View on the planet does as far as I know.

Thanks for the response, at least now I can stop searching lol. I had tried about 50 different things. Kind of annoying they have it locked to that extent but as you say, it is LTE.

Soul Browser - A litte gem you've probably never heard of

I posted this on the Kiwi Browser thread more in mourning at the lack of support and updates Kiwi has received in the last year or so.
So I stumbled on Soul Browser and it's been excellent so far. Extremely fast and lite. Unfortunately it doesn't have extensions but it's got virtually every function and customization you can think of. Digging into it's background it seems to be from a developer out of the UK so should be safe. It's on the Play Store but not open source unfortunately.
Everything is good and all but i couldn't find the toggle to turn video overlays on fullscreen. i watch something on youtube in portrait mode, when i make it fullscreen, video pauses, sometimes starts from the beginning and i don't like that overlay with full of buttons. How do i turn that of and have smooth transition?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycompany.app.soulbrowser ? I don't see any info about it at all, no blog, no homepage, no xda, nothing. Do you know any more about it? I love kiwi, and would stick if it wasn't Chrome 77, but for SB I cannot find anything about it and the dev replies on Play Store don't seem native english (which is fine, but I don't want yet another app later shown to be harvesting data)

I have no idea. Comment on the Playstore and the developer usually responds quite quickly. There's so much customization I haven't even touched yet.

Read the last 5 or so pages of the Kiwi thread on here and most of your concerns are answered. I, and several others, had the same worries but it seems Adguard DNS takes care of most issues. Trackers etc are all Google stuff anyway according to ClassyShark.

Thanks, yes I've just come from there! I use nextdns so nothing gets through to Google any way. It looks more a Samsung Internet base than Kiwi/plain Chrome. I just wish there was more info. And I'm so tired of being unable to migrate bookmarks, logins, cookies, etc between browsers!

I understand it's Chromium based but so is Samsung so all the same.
I'm having issues using it with NextDNS. It works but I get constant SSL errors on Soul which I don't get on Samsung or Kiwi, so there's something NextDNS doesn't like in there but I can't find it in the NextDNS logs. However it works fine with Adguard DNS and all trackers etc are blocked. I added Energized Ultimate to the adblock host list in Soul as an extra measure.
I imported my chrome bookmarks with ease using the html file. So no issues there.
A very good browser and can be greatly configured
(bars on top or bottom in custom size, long press settings, swipe settings, back/forward gestures, double finger gestures, no reload when back/forth, skip to page beginning, floating scrollbar, own blocklists, full auto dark mode, video downloader and much much more). I've never seen a better mobile browser, it's crazy.
But my problem with it is that it doesn't launch native apps from links:
Youtube is launched only if you google for youtube, but not from embedded videos; reddit is launched only if you use native reddit app and not third party one; ebay app doesn't launch and so on. Dealbreaker for me - I feel like on iOS.
Another thing is adblocker isn't consistent. If you jump through tabs and apps and then go back to prev opened website, sometimes there is suddenly an ad running, which was blocked before.
So overall it feels kinda buggy and you can say it's made by one person and on top of that - by a completly unknown entity (no mail, website) originate in Asia.
So I'm back on Samsung Browser beta which is still missing few nice to have things, but is fully baked.

I use Vanced and it launches directly. Check settings and enable the toggle to allow YouTube launch. I don't know about the ebay app but complaining about a 3rd party reddit app isn't the browsers fault.
I've switched off the built-in adblocker and use 1Hosts Pro and Energized Ultimate in the user field and never had that problem even with the built-in one active. Maybe because I also use a private dns adblocker on my devices.
I think the developer is from Korea as there are references to Korean legalities if you dig a little. I use this browser for daily casual surfing and it's fantastic but my main browser is also Samsung for secure and private stuff. Best of both worlds.
Well I use YouTube app and not vanced and it's not working. Toggle is set correctly and as I said some apps are starting, example "eBay Kleinanzeigen".
Ofcourse it's browsers fault if 3rd party reddit client is not starting IF it's registered in system as default reddit client.
Well written browsers always open apps properly: Samsung Browser, Firefox, Yandex and so on, because they respect those flags.
I don't want to need use vpn for adblocking.

I stopped using Energized Ultimate as it was overkill and heavy. I'm using 1Hosts Pro, OISD and Easylist now.

I think it was for donations but doesn't seem to work anyway.
Thanks for letting other people know about this browser.
I am not a advanced user. I only want a browser with adblocker and simple interface. I don't know about hosts, dns, etc.,
I have used Via, OH, Berry, Fulguris, Stargon, Onbibi browsers. Soul mixes all these into one.
Thanks
One thing missing is reader mode. Some old websites won't "work" mobile without it, example:
Infinite-baffle
Honestly! I'm just loving it! Perfect title and Perfect Browser name! Soul Browser

I totally agree about how nice this browser is but I'm also VERY MUCH concerned about the risk of privacy violation. Anyone has additional info about this ?
To the author if he's reading us: why don't you show up and talk about this important aspect of your (fantastic) app ?
Cool browser. But there's no option to import passwords
This was my daily browser for a while but now things are getting out of control. So much customisations as I like but not working flawlessly. Sad that no developer communication exist and bugs are not getting fixed.
Really like this browser but I have one really annoying issue : when watching a video in full screen landscape mode and would like to adjust something and tap the screen, the navigation bar do not disappear automatically...
Anybody faced this issue?
