If your card has no partitions then it won't be recognized by your PC. Guessing you're using windows, so go into your device manager to find your SD card slot then create an "SD CARD" partition that fills the entire card. It will be able to read it then.

HD2 problems reading SD Card

Hi all,
I Purchased a 8 gb sd card Class 4, and i used it as a "bootdisc" for flashing my vga bios.
But when i format it back to ntfs, my hd2 doesnt detect the sd card, the weird thing is, Windows had no problems reading it when i put the sd card in the card reader.
I reinstalled several Roms including the standard 1.66.xxx from HTC, but with all roms, it just wont read the sd Card.
please help.
hello,
insert SD card into computer, go to My Computer, right click on the sd card > Format, select FAT32, and format the card. and try to read it in the HD2

Yes right. I think HD2 is unable to read NTFS 'cause its desktop windows file system and not windows mobile.
Alright!! It worked, Much Appreciated.

SD Card won't mount

I've looked at the other threads on this but, none seem to match my problem.
I've a 16 GB MicroSD card in my S2. S2 is not-rooted running stock ROM.
This card used to mount ok. It no longer will.
In Settings->Storage, space reported is unavailable (because it's not mounted).
I can run Format SD Card option which returns quickly.
Running Mount SD Card, it's says Mount in Progress but it never completes.
If I put the card into an SD card reader, it looks fine. FAT32 formatted card, with approx 16GB available.
Any ideas?

I had similar problems with two other sd cards.
First running without any problem, and then suddenly the message appeared that the sd card is empty or not connected.
In both cases, the sd card was broken.
But in my cases, the sd card could not be used in a USB adapter by PC either.
As the sd cards were nearly new, I could make a warranty replacement and now I have got a card which works fine for about two months.
You can check this, by switching the sd card into another phone.
And use another sd card in your phone.
If the other card will work in your phone and your sd card will have issues in the other phone too, replace the broken sd card.
Good luck !
P.S.: You should format the sd card with your phone and not by your PC.
Other MicroSD Card works

Thanks for the response. I should have said that another 4GB card worked in the phone ok. This did lead me to think it was a card problem. However, he fact it works via a PC indicates otherwise.
Will try it in another phone.
Just throw it away?
Has anyone seen this before i.e. not working in phone but ok in SD reader?
If so, did you manage to resurrect it? Or is it time to throw it out?

Try this. Settings>Application>Development
Check usb debugging.
Connect phone to pc. In notification bar click "usb connected" message, and click on "connect usb storage" button. You won't see the sd card mounted in pc!
Now disconnect phone, reboot. It might mount
See if there's any luck.
Since you're not rooted, solutions are quite limited in numbers

Tried disconnecting and rebooting in 2 senses of the word

2. unplugging the usb cable.
Unfortunately, neither worked.

I think your SOL and have to reinstall an android build.
This is a bug that happens when you have more than 50 apps installed on the sdcard.
You need to goto .android_secure and delete a few files to get under 50. I have also heard that if you goto manage applications you could remove a few apps that are installed on the sdcard.

[Q] External SD card not detected on PC

Hi,
I am using the cyanogenmod 11 v0.8. I have an external SD card which was working fine on the stock ROM. I can access the external SD card on my device but cannot access it on my computer (linux). The internal SD card is available on the computer. What should I do? Something wrong with the type of filesystem on SD card?

I used Titanium Backup to move all the apps to internal memory and then did a reboot. However the status is the same

[Q] Micro SD Card not recognized after CWM Backup

Hi.
Before flashing my SGIII to the newest OmniROM I made a backup using CWM. I backed up my files to the mounted external Micro SD Card. After flashing I found out, that the SD card was not recognized by my phone. The mount button in Storage Settings was greyed out.
I tried connecting the Micro SD Card to my Windows 8.1 computer with a Micro SD Card reader. No reaction on computer. Micro SD card doesn't show in My Computer (it did before I made the backup). It doesn't even show in Device Manager or in CMD.
I have tried multiple recovery programs on my PC, but none of them recognizes the card. I even tried cleaning the pins.
The files aren't important, if I could just figure out how to format/reset it.
Thank you all in advance.
Best Regards,
Andreas B. Ostergaard
Pardon, bump.
Just bumping again.. Please let me know if I should add more information etc.
I guess I should try another forum. Sorry for spamming!

If your still here, try connecting the card reader to your pc and go to partition manager on windows, let me know what it says I might be able to help you format it but obviously you will lose your stuff man.
