i have a droid razr maxx. i have installed the 98.whatever kernel of JB. i have flashed rage rom 2.9. i am using chomp sms.
my question is, what do i need to put in for smsc (message centre) so i stop getting "message send failed" errors?
*extremely irritated* as i seem to be the only one with this problem. i have paid for chomp, therefore this should work!!

On the Optimus V, sometimes when a person attempts to text me, they received an error (it doesn't give an error code). I am using aospCMod-3252011 along with the hybrid Sprint-VM PRL and Xiona's Kernel. I was hoping that someone could assist me in fixing this problem.

I had a friend root my X10 with the MIUI rom but before hand had not set up my voicemail. I'm needing to set up my voicemail on the phone but I keep getting automated messages asking for "ten digit mailbox number of the person I'm calling or press pound"....when I press pound, it asks for a mailbox number, (which I dont have)....how do I get around this problem?
one thing I have noticed is that there is an extra setting under voicemail settings that says "voicemail service". This is not there on a stock x10.
Any help on this issue at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
I finally got it figured out! It ended up being a problem with AT&T and not with the MIUI rom
Been using my Razr maxx fine for 5 days now, and as of this morning, i am not receiving texts. I can send them, but i am not getting any. I have reset, hard reset, pulled the SIM card, rebooted, everything. the only thing that changed was installation of safestrap, and i know for a fact thats not the issue, because i froze it, rebooted, and tested again, still no texts. Im sure its "service issue" but there needs to be a way to fix it . Anyone know how?
It could be an issue with verizon. Give it a couple of hours or call them and ask. If they say they are unaware of any issue give it a couple of hours anyway. If evwrything was working and u didnt do anything it's not a problem with the phone ...... usually

Did you max your txt capacity in settings. Or delete the ones you have now. Try those two and see if you get txt now

I figured it out. After i rooted, i froze the stock text messages app (i use Chomp SMS). For whatever reason, i was still able to SEND messages, but incoming messages never got to the phone. once i unfroze the stock text app, they came back. So this one was entirely my fault.

Sorry if this has been answered before but I can't find the answer.
I got my gsm razr today and I love it but I can't send a text message, I can receive texts and surf the Web. My phone us showing 4 bars of hspa. I can even tether, but no sending sms. My phone says error code 500.
Only thing I found on google said restart it and SMS will be.fixed but that didn't work.
the phone is rooted on 2.3.5 if that matters.
has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it?

I have the same problem. The only way I can get mine to work is to put a SIM from another account in my phone. Enter *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Information. Refresh the SMSC. It will populate with the correct information. At this point, I can send texts from the phone. Put in the original SIM (do not reboot phone) and then you should be able to send SMS from your number.
The only problem is that the SMSC number does not stay through reboots. I have to do this process every time I reboot.
Does anyone know how to get this number to stick?
I don't have the same problem however I have noticed that GOSMS Pro from the market does allow a Customized SMSC setting in the Send Settings tab. Perhaps you can try that out and see if it fixes the issue?

What this code means?
I Google and found a guy with Atrix 4G having the same issue, but in his case is the SMSC that was wrong. (Not my case)
The Issue is'nt on the phone, is on the SIM.
