I'm wondering how we can "root" our brand new Jelly Bean Xperia P phones?! I've tried the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v29 method (all 3 steps) with no succes! Any suggestion, method, how-to's, tutorials, etc.? Moreover, is there any custom kernel for XP Jelly Bean coming or can we use the already released ones? Thanks a million in advance to whoever is going to provide any feedback! :victory:
How the hell are you expecting kernels and rooting methods on first day of release?

Instead of requesting root so soon perhaps you could help others who are unable to update by compiling an FTF of the update and providing links. The root will come later on.
Easy guys!

Take it easy guys! I was just VERY kindly asking! And I got the FTF firmware file from another contributor/dev on XDA. I'm unable to compile an FTF myself, sorry about that.

Try an app that need root like cpu control and like if superuser ask permissions, and if superuser dont ask that, you have no root and superuser is useless
Let us know please

Great!!! :good:
Oh, so you have a working version of key lime pie already? Would you mind writing a guide? Maybe you could also make an ftf out of it so that other people don't need to unlock thier bootloader.
Just kidding, but I really wish to see JB soon. Although maybe everybody has to admit that Sony did a great job with their ICS (at least they did on P). Hope they do the same job for JB...
Sorry, it was meant to be a joke
Yeah, we can just hope for JB!

Hi
i own a xperia neo L MT25i, i guess plenty of people do now
so calling on all devs/experts to help us pimp our L
so far i have been able to root it thanks to the "finally rooted L" thread, but what good it is if we can unleash further powers :crying:
i desperately need a guide on "how to enter recovery mode in L" and "how to install cwm in L", am sure a lot of L owners will second these
there is a oc kernal as well as a supermodded rom floating around but we cant get to those till we achieve the above
its about time we move on from neo and neo v and show some love for neo L
thanks in advance guys
ps: if help arrives via this thread, kindly keep it strictly to L issues, people looking for neo or neo v guidance please stay away from this

Novice or not novice, search.
It's even written in first post, names of threads, one of it is "finally rooted L", XDA->Neo->General section->"search this forum"(option in upper right part) and search for "finally rooted L" and you will find that thread.

The idea is simple. Doomlord kit / root toolkit / unlock bootloader / some device backups , and the most important thing is, a PC to perform all these actions.

Friend,
I Already Tried that Method, It is Also Not Working....
W19i running 4.0.4
probably this is bcoz we are running 4.0.4 and build number 4.1.B.0.587
Can some one please provide with an easy way similar to the one mentioned at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1321582 (Doomlord)...
I tried my luck at Flash n all but was not lucky.....
Hi folks
Here is how to root any 2011 Xperia running any of the 4.1.B.0.587 4.1.B.0.431 / 4.1.A.0.562 and 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware . No need to downgrade kernels or anything, just root it straight away
Rooting
Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"
Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging
Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode
PC Companion installed on your PC.
1) Connect your phone to PC ( IMPORTANT > Skip PC Companion installation pop up on your phone.) and wait for the adb drivers to be installed. If these drivers don't get installed, phone would not be detected by Eroot.
Make sure nothing else ( specially flashtool ) is running on your PC in the background.
2) Download this rooting toolkit. Google Drive /// MediaFire /// 4-Shared and run it. If any downloading starts, cancel it by clicking the green button. Don't let the eroot download anything.
It should now detect your phone and show an option to "-root". Just click on it, wait till it finishes
3)Rooting done ( For confirmation see if any Super User app has been installed )
4) If by chance it fails for the first time, give it another go. it won't harm your phone in any way. If you still face problem, click on show content below
Go to your C:/ Drive / User/Username/AppData/Roaming/ folder and delete the eRoot folder.
If it says cannot be deleted then open up task manager on your PC and kill bec.exe . Then delete eroot folder.
Still not working ? used the archived method to root 2011 Xperia here below the animated Xperia picture.

5) While posting in the thread for help, remember to give details. Don't just write > "it's not working, help please ".

i do not complaining that I'm not in the credits because in his version I don´t do nothing, so the credits are good .. I complain because he made me waste my time (well I have life, go to college , work, etc, as everyone in the Xda community) and apparently he don´t appreciated .. My intention is not to cause problems or be rude if you appreciate the work of others whether good to bad because the intention is to help each other and not create problems :highfive::good:
