Battery drains - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I got a little problem from like a week or two on my SGH-I777, 4.2.2 SuperNexus-2.0Build3.Is just that the battery drains super fast, there was even 1 time when it was 100% and as soon as I disconnected the phone it went to 80% I have bought a new battery thinking that was the problem. But no luck now I wipe everything erase a couple of apps to see if that fixed the problem and nothing by now I don't know what to do any help I will appreciate thanks in advance and sorry for bad English not my first language.

I really don't understand my hero

Hi everyone, I really don't know where locate this "thing" is happening to my hero but it is definitely related to ROMs.
I recently post my battery problem in the battery's thread in this forum but seems like a battery calibration was not the solution.
I used to have Floyo on my hero and it worked perfect, also battery life was pretty good. Since I changed it to try another one, I can not have any 2.2 ROM in my hero cause battery drains almost 15-20%/hour with wifi off, sync off, screen minimum, 2G network, just the necessary to receive calls.
I've tried all 2.2 ROMs with different kernels, always wiping everything and none of them works property. I decided to install a 2.1 ROM and voila, more than 2 days of battery. Does anyone have any idea of the problem?
Other thing is driving me crazy is why I have to use toggle set (because of handset problem->always is on even when is not plugged) but only with VillainROM 12 I don't have this problem, I thought it was a hardware problem.
For all of this, my hero is understandable, any light to see what's going on? Thank you all
BEfore flashing a 2.2 ROM, wipe EVERYTHING, including battery stats. Let then the battery drain to 0, and charge the phone with the wall charger for 6-7 hours, then turn it on while it's still plugged and leave it like that for 1-2 hrs. Then unplug it and there will be no more drain.
Maybe this could also help you, when you set up your 2.2 rom for the first time,
have you ever disable google backup?
I have been told that drain battery like hell....

Thanks, I'll try next time doing it in this way and I'll see the results thought I think it won't change cause even if it's not fully charged I wipe battery stats also when i flash
Batteries die with time, so if you keep having a problem, you can consider investing $20 in a Mugen Power extended battery (1550 mAh) which doesn't need the back cover to be changed.
I greatly recommend it.

battery problem at reboot

Hi,
i apologize for my bad eng
If i have the battery at 50% and i reboot, the indicator is at 20%
The battery is ok and normally have a good life.
Android is at 2.3.4
Have you any idea? need for more info?
Just leave it for a while and you'll probably notice it creeping back up. It magically charges from electricity in the air around you.
if the problem keep going on you can try CWM with battery stats reset,
on some ROMs its gives good results..
because calibration appears not to be efficient with SGSII, the battery seems to calibrate automatically but with flashing few ( or maybe just one) roms sometimes
you have to reset stats..
sorry 4 mybad english

You have a better grip on English than many whose 1st language is English.
I never liked 2.3.4 so I recommend upgrading to KK5.

My Galaxy S3 running Omega runs out of battery rapidly.

Hey!
I´m running Omega on my S3 and I love it but since I first installed it I´ve been having problems with the battery, it seem like it is just getting worse and worse.
I think I am getting 1/3 of what I got with the stock ROM.
Any ideas?
Before i have the omega rom and i have the same problem
i have install the Android Evolution HD and it's very better !!
Problem , Android Evolution HD is a simply rom like the original rom, but you have mods ^^
I have exactly samr situation as above poster, Omega and Android Revolution HD.
But I figure, at least to me, it is possible due to 2G/3G network connection
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I've been using Omega for quite some time now and I've tried many settings to maximize battery life like shutting off radio signals, disabling fast dormancy, even using a darker wallpaper to save that extra bit of juice...but i must say this rom just finds a way of sucking all the battery out some way or the other.
I might try Android Revolution now hmm
Thanks guys!
First I thought it was something wrong on the hardware side but now I am sure it´s the ROM.
It´s a shame because I really like some of the features and aside from eating battery fast it also freezes, stops and turns into a brick for a minute or two sometimes. My beloved SGS III is no longer very reliable but I thought those were the consequences of starting to play with the ROM, this is my first time I do something to my Android phone. I´ve been jailbreaking and trying different things on iPhones but never on Android.
Seems like the only solution is to try a different ROM.

UPDATE:
I found the solution and now I have better battery life than ever before
I charged the phone fully and let it stay with the green LED on for about two hours to make sure it's fully charged then I simply put the phone into CWM recovery mode and then Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats.
Thanks.

Yes, everytime after flashing a new ROM, you got to do this and give it a few days for the newly flashed ROM to settle down to be able to measure battery life better.

If I understand correctly, wipe battery stats only remove battery statistics, it does not improve battery life. See:
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
Maybe check the Battery usage in Setting.
I get 48 hours on a single charge through configurations on Perseus. I opened up a thread to detail the config.

S3 Has poor and constantly changing Battery life

So, my phone's battery life is overall quite poor for the most part. some days it absolutely burns through my battery with little phone use, and other days it gets decent battery. i downloaded better battery stats, and for example. today my phone drained at about 10%/hour, but yesterday for example it drained at about 3%/hour. And today i did not even use my phone that much. Please help, as this is getting really annoying.
Here are some screenshots of my battery stats on two bad battery days

I know it looks like dolphin burned alot of battery, but that it just because it was practically the only application i opened and i used it for a couple minutes which i normally wouldn't do. then i few hours later, this was where my batter was at, and i swear i pretty much did not even touch my phone at all! http://imgur.com/NIfYnkl

the wifi is on for 4 hours as well the screen! turn off wifi when not in use! if the problem persists, try changing roms & kernels. even then? replace the battery with a new one.

The screen wasn't on? its an unrooted phone btw. and you think simply having the wifi on is the reason it drained at 11.5%/hour?
Suggest you read the multiple identical battery threads .

[Q] New Battery, Factory Reset - still battery drain

I have got a strange problem.
My Samsung S5830i Galaxy Ace has a battery drain of 50% per night without usage, WLAN off.
The device is rooted, and I've had an battery issue when using Link2sd with a ext2 partition (bcm.sdhc.3 kept the phone awake all time). I fixed it using ext3. This was six month ago, no problems after that.
Since last week, I got this huge battery drain. BetterBatteryStats tells me the phone is sleeping most of the time, no suspicious processes.
I tried with a battery from a friend, no result.
I factory-reset my phone, no result.
I used a ClockworkMod recovery from the time before link2sd, no result.
The battery is still draining like hell.
What else could I do instead of throwing the phone away? Please help!

It most probably will be your battery problem. How old is your battery? I know you said you tried your friend's battery, but try again with another battery for Ace. Also try using another rom. Do post the results. Hope I Helped

His Battery is not very old. And I think it would be strange it is really a battery problem, because it happens very sudden and the behaviour of the two batteries is the same.
The phone is 1,5 year old. I think about unrooting and try to make use of the guarantee or to get another rom and flash.
But if it would be a software problem, at least the recovery should overwritten the faulty settings, or not?

Once your battery gets as low as 15 to 20%, go to CWM> Advanced> Wipe Battery Stats and then charge for 3 hours without a break. See if there is any change. Follow this beautiful guide by @Venomous Viper 119 on improving the battery backup and performance of ace. Here is the link,

Well, thanks for the link. My newest information is: the battery is draining even when the phone is off. I think, either the NSA installed their new feature, or it is relly a hardware defect
