Overclock kernel? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

On Antutu benchmark I see a few users running there cpu at 1.928ghx or so. How do I do that?! With a kernel right? I haven't seen an OC kernelreleased for tthe HTC, has anyone else?

I just saw the specs of galaxy ace.
Same adreno 200 gpu as our's and the same processor msm7227 but clocked at 800 Mhz....wtf?
I couldnt overclock my phone to a stable 806 ever
Can anyone make any comments please??

Kernel matters rolleys.

Yes, Its due to kernel only. And not to worry so mush. What FK has given us till now you can use @ 768, It's not bad at all.
lol binodray, u know about android or ur just acting like u know??
we cant overclock because the msm7227 in our device is connected to cheap cables and busses and probably cheap ahb or something...
thats y some people are able to overclock to 806 and some people are not able to...
No dear I don’t know anything.
On a short note
The MSM7227 is ARM 11 family 32bit Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This series seems to run PLL2 at 1200MHz, which is why they are capable of running at 600MHz. (1200/2 binary thing).
what is over clocking?
Over clocking typically refers to running a CPU at a clock speed higher than that for which it was originally designed. And the kernel is told that it is being run at a higher speed (In realty it’s not).
Why phone crash?
When phone generate very high voltage due to increased clock speed we have kernel panic in result.
How we solve this?
As far as I know if dev can alter UV table in kernel we can have processor with 1728 which is 864. This means there could be one kernel supporting OC frequencies up to 1728Mhz (lets say 1728,1600,1500,1400,1300,1200,1120), and user could choose which ones he wants to use (eg 1400 and 1120, disabling the rest).
Hope this will make you clear why we need kernel and why OC is based on kernel codes.

[Q]WT19i unlocked and overclocked to 2 Ghz,is it safe??

lets get to the point,i have WT19i unlocked using test point,i used rage kernel v2.3 right now,and overclocked to 2 GHz,my question is..is it safe?or should i lower the OC to 1,5 GHz or something?what is the safe OC point to this device?
thanks, sorry for my noob,i just don't know where to ask..
What you get with OC to 2GHz? Fastest mobile phone on the world? What I can say that this mobile phone is really fast with 1 GHz freq, so I not need to OC it.
Every electronic part have own limitation. So is it safe to OC to 2 GHz, nobody knows. Maybe yes, maybe no. Maybe your CPU can go to 2GHz few months and then die. Who knows...

wow, that was scary..some says that OC to 2 GHz with right governor can make less lag, specially when we install many games and apps..well,i don't have lag so far with 8 HD games and some apps installed, just curious if it safe if we OC to 2 GHz,in case that i get lagy in the future..

Any Ways to Overclock N90, Cube U9GT2

Anyone can overclock this RK2918 chipset? The performance of this tablet isn't that fast with the stock firmware, I hope someone can overclock the CPU and GPU.
a kernel that allows overclock is allowed, but at the moment noone is working on (for what I know). Try the Evolution 1.12 is much faster than other roms. How much do you have on the Antutu benchmark?

Problem with perseus kernel

Hi! I have problem with perseus Kernel If I overclock cpu a little bit, All the same the problem (If I start play game some time it will restart), it does not matter how much overclocked. I tested 1.7Ghz clock and test it For 1375mv, 1400mv, 1425mv, and it's not effective and between a perseus rom freezes lock screen and I have to restart it :S, siyah kernel will not let me even overclock more than 1.5GHz can someone help me with this problem , I love overclocking :silly:
SiyahKernel S3 v1.5 CPU over/underclock: 100-1800MHz 18-steps , GPU over/underclock: 54-800MHz ,Perfect to play , i have been using for a long time and i had never any problems ........

Okay But, why I'm not able to overclock 1.8GhZ its show me 200-1.5GhZ I tried overclock stweaks, cpu master, set cpu, and Foxhound extras but not help I try flash siyah again If that help.. Block story max settings eat really MUCH performance
I'm not even able hit over the 1.5GhZ and it show me 25-1.5GhZ (((
Anyone?
Anyone know what I do wrong if I'm not able hit 1.8GhZ?
yes,, your cpu isn't up to it, simple. With overclocking make small steps, note what you are doing, experiment with voltages, but all chips are different so experimentation is the only way, along with lots of reading and learning, skill aided by searching

okay But why this perseus give me overclock more than 1.5GhZ But Perseus is so buggy :S and I can normally overclock Gpu with siyah kernel but If I run test I am not note difference, 1 better fps for 700MhZ GPU Clock My Phone is so strange

you have to understand the fact that the kernel is in alpha stage, so if you dont know what you are doing you shouldnt have flashed it. and also all chips are not capable of handling higher frequency, 1.6 ghz should be asafe bet for all processors..
700mhz in siyah makes a big impact depending on the benchmark you run.. check the thrread in my sig for more info.
Thanks all for posts! I figured it out, I give more juice for all these steps for perseus alpha And not anymore reboots. 1.8 GhZ 1450mv 1.7GhZ 1400mv, 1.6GhZ 1350mV, 1.5GhZ 1300mV, I run now 1.7GhZ for dual core mode, I'll try soon run my phone quad core mode . But I can't overclock my gpu with perseus and siyah rom doesn't give me overclock more than 1.5ghZ DD so strange Ps: 1.7 GhZ Dual core My Cpu score is 8123 and memory 5538 on quandrant benchmark.
Edit: If my phone a little bit overheat it reboot same thing is 1.6GhZ, 1.7GhZ, 1.8GhZ. 1.6GhZ I run stability test about 1-2min and it reboot, Battery About 41 degrees Celsius :S
Why in the name of all that is holy would you overclock your CPU, and then run it in dual core mode??
You would be better off leaving it at 1.4ghz in quad core mode.
That seems pointless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glPp2ORTvFo&feature=youtu.be Sorry for poor video my video editing software doesn't working But If I run test about 1 min device reboot My video will not be saved if it shuts down so I had to stop Stability Test before a turn off.
I will do later in the evening siyah kernel video for overclocking problem

effect of kernels on processor speed

hey there .i wanted to know if custom kernels have effect on processor speed so that they could damage the processor on long term ,or not ?
you can overclock CPU on custom kernel, and then you can burn it. but I think it won't overclock by itself,

i wont do that but i'm afraid that the custom rom or kernel will make this it self ,what makes me confused that i flashed a kernel today and noticed better performance and more rapid than previous so i'm afraid that this deference is because boosting processor speed in these custom kernels or roms
this kernel is "MESA" on "Hyberbeam Rom" in the kernel description there is a sentence that got me panicked which is "oc upto 1.8ghz and using 200mhz steps. default boot only use 1ghz."
so i want to know what this means
it means that you can oc up to 1.8 GHz if you really want. just use No-frills CPU Control or SetCPU to manage your CPU, you can check the current clock speed and set the min and max frequency limit, so if you set the max to 1 GHz you can be sure that you won't fry the CPU... unless you'll set the governor to performance.
the kernel or custom rom don't oc the cpu by themselves...... btw you can oc your cpu to 1.2 gigs safely..... i am using my phone on that frequency from last two months
and the speed increase you are talking about is because of the various tweaks and scripts that are used in the custom rom and kernel and the removed bloatware
