1. you must see IMEI code itself is usually present in your device box or you could find it from the back of your device just right behind the batterai. example: IMEI: 3567XXXXXXXXX
2. after finding the code install Android Emulator and after installing just type the command "SU" without the quotes
NB: The Android Emulator with linux commands
3. then go to the root by type SU, and type this
echo ‘AT+EGMR=1,7,”YOUR IMEI“‘ >/dev/pttycmd1
4. finish
hopefully this help :highfive:

I lost my IMEI on my Sony Xperia Z tonight, I do not know why or how.
I used the command you give above. Exactly as you describe, in a terminal with root. I rebooted, but still no new IMEI. Why did the command not work on my Xperia Z?
I just see, I do not have an /efs folder any longer. Does CM store a backup of working IMEI somewhere?
I do not have an EFS backup, what else could I do?
EFS i think work only on Samsung Exynos devices

I was able to fix it by formatting all partitions, including /data and /system and installing CM again. Then the IMEI was back. I did a re-format, not just a wipe in Clockworkmod recovery. You may try the same. Format *everything* and install CM 10.2.0. Maybe this will restore your IMEI.

Hey guys, as most of you know I have bricked my device in a really bad way. Now revived it, does boot wifi is there everything is there except the IMEI (now it is 3500000000000006). I do have nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5.
Cant run *#0011# or something like that because it tells me this: "not registered on network"
Also Phone INFO *samsung* doesnt work because that app doesnt want root access from me, if I can ask for root access I can be able to go into that SERVICE MODE. And maybe I can recover..
Please help me what to do GUYS!!!! DONATIONS ARE HERE FOR YOU

Hey Vanderax,
I had a similar thing happen on my original Galaxy S waaaay back in the day, and was able to fix it by doing the following.
- Flash a completely stock ROM via Odin, and then get root access (lots of ways to do this, but you must have root)
- Copy your backup nv_data.bin to /sdcard
- Once you have root, use a file-browsing app like Root Explorer to browse to /efs
- Mount as R/W, and delete the nv_data.bin and nv_data.min.md5 from the /efs directory
- Copy your backup nv_data.bin from /sdcard to /efs
- Close Root Explorer
- Open your dialler and type the following (WARNING! THIS WILL HARD-RESET YOUR PHONE WITHOUT PROMPT AND WIPE ALL DATA/APPS)
*2767*3855#
Once your phone boots, your IMEI should be rebuilt from the nv_data.bin, and the nv_data.bin.md5 should also be there.
Hope that helps!

Yeah mate... Also the screen is distorted when rebooting, theres no samsung galaxy s6 edge boot picture. After that picture we all see the samsung boot animation. I can see it too now.. you can see my older post to understand what problem did the phone and now how is it...
I tried everything but i am hopeless and i dont want to give 50$ for a cert write operation.
Yeah, it looks pretty hopeless to be honest mate - if you're unable to successfully flash a stock ROM and re-partition with a .pit file using ODIN, you can't do much.
And if you don't have a backup of your original nv_data.bin file, even if you could get the phone working, my solution above won't be any help. My suggestion is to send it for repair, and just chalk it up to experience!
Now I fixed the usb connection and bootloader partition too. Now the phone is fully functional except its IMEI. Any solutions???

You'll need a tool to write a IMEI to the phone. I'm pretty sure you can fix it with chimera tool which isn't free but definitely worth a check. You get what you pay for
Hey everyone, my rom port went totally wrong.
I installed the cwm recovery and could access to it by pressing Volume up + power. (installed and restored stock roms a few times before)
After installing a custom rom, the phone kept boot looping, it shows manufacturers logo, and then reboots.
I've tried any kind of key combination to access recovery, but with no luck, If i connect to the PC, it detects for a few seconds, and then goes away since it reboots, so theres no time to install its drivers.
Removed battery from phone for 1 hour and tried again, still boot looping.
Don't know what I can do anymore, what are the chances to revive the phone?
If that helps.... its a china phone, running 4.2.2, 3.4.5 kernel. Bricked when ported MIUI V5 SM-N900 V1 (yeah I know its for that specific phone, but always had in mind that I could access recovery any time I wanted to restore :/ )
Regards.
Is it a MTK based phone? If so, then you'll need to find the original firmware and use the SP Flash Tool.

yes, forgat to mention it, MT6582

See if your imei and/or baseband are null. If it's the IMEI, you might be able to rewrite it with Mobileuncle app. I've fixed a couple mtk phones with it. Not sure if it supports yours...

That china application had a function to change IMEI, they were null as you said, and I just manually wrote in them what was in the back of the phone case :good:
Now talking about other issue, do you now if is possible to upgrade kernel versions? like 3.4.5 to 3.4.67? having a hard time to find someone confirm me this....
Only if the manufacturer put out an update. It's very difficult to update the kernel without the manufacturer releasing the source code, and they usually never do for devices like that.
Ok i need help with my device.
I got a s6 edge SMG925I a while ago, yesterday an update (i guess its called OTA) popped up and i installed it. after the installation was completed but now i'm not registered on network, and i can't detect my SIM card.
Note: my IMEI is NOT blocked.
So far all my efforts were for nothing.
All the info i got so far by searching
Problems:
Not registered on network
when typing *#06# it only show S/N
About device it shows IMEI: Unknown
did not back up the efs folder (but i GUESS the folder is still there and somehow the new stock can't access it)
Android ver. 6.0.1(marshmallow)
Possible cause:
EFS Folder corrupted
Bad Stock installation
Already tried:
Rooting (i wasnt able to root)
Installing latest stock rom
installing the old rom
QPST to change IMEI
Please help me guys
EDIT:
I figured out what happened, my efs got deleted somehow, i got no backup, is there a way around this? help me please

How about a simple reset from the settings menu? But I am pretty sure, if you somehow deleted the IMEI imformation, your chances are not the best. You'd have to find a way, to get write thatbinfo back. What you could do is ask someone else to backup that partition for you and change the values according to your phone ( IMEI, serial number,...) Then flash this partition info back. Good luck!

i think you can install CM recovery (TWRP) then you can process the backup of your old rom from the recovery.
just enter in recovery mode then you'll find "restore" choose all the files ( i think there will be like this: System, Cashe, Efs, Boot...) then hit Restore botton, and wait for it to boot up hope this helps you bro

Try to get the efs partition holding the information from someone else, change it to your IMEI, serial,... And flash that partition to your phone and you should be good. I guess you'd have to use a hex editor to get that done. I am not rooted, so I can't back it up for you.

So I am fond of flashing custom ROMs and stuff on my mido and I carry knowledge about what I'm doing. Day before yesterday I was flashing Oreo 8.1 ROMs via TWRP. Accidentally I deleted everything in "/" folder (I suppose its called root folder idk). Terminal gave output saying something like rm -rf i don't recall exactly .. i thought i didn't mess up so i went forward flashing AEX 5.1 Beta ROM. The ROM booted perfectly but only issue I got was No WiFi and data signals... I thought i messed up with firmware so i went ahead and flashed sock ROM via MI FLASH. It flashed successfully but when my device rebooted I started setting it up until it started rebooting again and again... It's not normal boot-loop... i am getting past Mi logo and even able to go through setup wizard but unable to complete it... when i start setting device up it freezes and then restarts and that's it!
what i have tried:
1) Flashing in EDL mode
2) Flashing TWRP/ RedWolf recovery and formatting data
3) Flashing Custom ROM (The issue persisits the device boots succesfully the reboots)
4) Tried flashing via QFIL but cant seem to make it work (fh_loader stops working)
Is it software issue or hardware? It must be software right? or else phone wouldnot have booted successfully
P.S: Under Device Info it shows MAC as 20:00:00:00:00:00 and WiFi wont turn on, same with Bluetooth (Mobile signals work perfectly)
I think i messed up with partitions someone PLEASE HELP!

you actually messed up your device bad. basically the '/' directory has folders containing files which the linux os requires. there are dev scripts which perform the backend tasks, and if they all are deleted, well sorry to say, the device then is just an expensive paperweight. not sure how you are still able to boot. Basically rm -rf command deletes all the writable partitions of android. maybe the device is booting up on the support of blobs. but there are very little chances to get back normal. sorry but unable to help

Hey, I got it working up and fine. What actually helped was flashing the stock rom with QFIL tool. The device booted up successfully and right now I'm writing this with my mido only ? Hey, sorry for late I'm here now! Listen, I followed the same procedure as mentioned in Mi forum. I got the same error! It might say that fh_loader stopped working right? The solution was to flash stock miui rom. Haha thats great congrats! Tip for custom rom installation is to follow install guide carefully and don't ever touch root partition lol! I've stopped flashing roms now... I'm on miui now permanently with bootloader locked lol

Hey, I got it working up and fine. What actually helped was flashing the stock rom with QFIL tool. The device booted up successfully and right now I'm writing this with my mido only All the partitions have been recovered successfully and WiFi and Bluetooth are up and running too! The only issue is that QFIL wiped my IMEI. I'm sure there must be some way to write IMEI back. If you know you may help too

After unlocking the bootloader flashed magisk and data decrypt imei and baseband are lost can I restore it?before going to service center:crying:?
Download a global Stock ROM for your device and just run the flash all.bat file and let it run may take awhile and phone will be fresh again
HELP !!! I'm getting the same issue but don't care if i brick the phone.
No matter how many times i flash use different roms i still lose my IMEI/Baseband
I have an external SD card but it looks complicated to backup the EFS file to the SD card and then restore it to the phone but is that my only option ?

Don't disable forceencrypt, that's your problem.

Did you flash a recovery rom or a fastboot rom? You should find flashing the fastboot rom restores everything correctly.

I tried restoring the phone using a fastboot rom, but the baseband and IMEI errors still appear. Does anyone know about another solution or tool for this? I know both of my IMEI numbers, by the way.

Every time I got this problem I found that flashing a fastboot ROM fixed it. I never managed to find any other solution that actually worked. Googling the problem I did find some solutions, but I didn't try them all. I just gave up and kept stock ROM with Magisk, then debloated it as much as I could. All I can suggest is seeing what Google throws up and seeing if any solution works for you.
anyone found a fix yet?
I have the mistake of rooting my device and disabling the encrypt, Now I have unknown baseband and my imei is blank. What do i do now?
