Hi,
I commute to school underground with no service for roughly 1.5 hours. During that time, I like to watch youtube videos. Besides TubeMate, is there any Android app (or any method on Android) to download youtube videos AUTOMATICALLY? I want to have the videos download while I sleep so it is available to me when I wake up and get ready. Right now I manually download some videos using TubeMate (when I remember).
I did have another setup using "youtube-dl" program on linux and setting up a cron job to download the latest video from a channel. I would then upload this to dropbox and then redownload it on my Android using FolderSync app.
Please tell me if there is a better way to auto download new videos from youtube channels. I have a Galaxy S3.
bump....anyone?

I'm experiencing some strange but welcomed behavior of my nexus 10's YouTube app. I'm living in Germany so theoretically I shouldn't be able to watch official music videos on YouTube. at first I tried to search the videos via Google now and open the playing request via YouTube and it worked for some songs. but now I'm able to watch ANY music videos by vevo in the YouTube app. I can just search them via the app and it starts playing. now I want to flash the latest cm10 but I really want to preserve this YouTube/ music state...any advice what I could do to transfer this to the new ROM. I tried to backup the youtube app via titanium and transfer it to my galaxys and play the videos there but I'm not able to watch them on the galaxy s due to the copyrights. so the "mess up" has to be placed elsewhere. any ideas? if we can figure this out I can share these files/or whatever is needed to you guys
best regards dadebue
EDIT: no proxy app or something like that installed...the videos load as quick as my internet provider allows it

dude well i am living in germany too at the moment. And well this is kind of a gap hole from vevo haha well if you search for the vevo app directly in the play store, you will not find it. But i did this with several jelly bean roms, and it always worked for me on any device. Just go to google search and search for "vevo android app" and it will show you the app with a little button next to it saying "free". Tap on that button and it will ask you to open the play store and guide you to the app. And i also says download there and it all works fine :highfive:
I think it has more to do with restrictions people put on your videos as opposed to your tablet.

!!!!! You cant watch videos !!!!!
With this application you can :
* Youtube video search
* Youtube mp3 download
utube on YouTube MP3 downloader application allows you to download as mp3 files you want. Convert process takes only a few seconds . It is the fastest application via Youtube where you can download mp3 .
IMPORTANT NOTE: This application does not allows you to download videos longer than 20 minutes. This application does not allows you to download any video that copyright .

It actually works. I just wish the way it worked was like in the official YouTube app, you could 'send' links to the uTube app and it then downloaded the mp3. Rather than using the uTube app for browsing videos.
nice info .. may be I'll try it :good:
great app
waw, I hope see this app soon.
Good Luck

If you're not rooted and/or don't want to mess around with the youtube app, sideload TubeMate. When you switch to full screen, it'll give you resolution options. And of course, TubeMate's main function is that it allows you to download the video to your device. Downloading youtube videos doesn't jive with Google's TOS, so you have to do a search and sideload it; it's unavailable from the Play Store. I can't get FHD to work for playback, even on my LG 8.3 tablet ("not supported); it maxes at 720p. However, I can download at FHD and watch it with a 3rd party player (but requires MP3 Video Converter to also be installed).
There's also SuperTube (available from the Play Store). No downloading of course, but it lets you select the resolution up to 720p. The nifty thing with this app is that it's also a floating player, which means you can watch a video on top of another app or your homescreens.
Thank you very very much @lootjelo.
Thanks, i was looking for this, all i need is to have the phone rooted correct?
My device is rooted. Installing for Youtube 4.4.11 v5b apk , your need uninstall to installed system youtube application. Need rooted device for this. @fakeblitz
Hi,
I am using an app called Axissoft Star Player which opens video from a particular website. Videos can be downloaded or streamed through the app. But, if I download a video from the app, the video files downloads with a .con file type extension with a validity of only two days. After 2 days, the app doesn't play the video. Even if I change my phone date and download a video, it even not works.
Is there any way to remove the expiry or to view the video files somewhere else?
Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for an app that can download videos from the Peeks Social app without using URLs that can maybe run in the background and download the videos straight from the app I'm using. I tried a couple screen recording apps but all they record is the audio with a black screen and the video I need isnt live its been on the app fo a while so I figured there might be a way to download it.
PS. Sorry if this isn't the place to ask this ?
