Remove NFC Icon. - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Makes the icon transparent. Flash in recovery. I did this for T-Mobile One, should work for AT&T too.

Although I doubt a need for this. How do I revert and get the symbol back after flashing?

Flash this if you want to return to the stock icon.

Thanks.. Worked like a charm. Have NFC w/o the annoying NFC icon. Although I'm not sure what I'll use NFC on. lol Thanks for the hard work!

Will this still take up a slot in the notification bar (meaning there will be an empty space if a new notification icon pops up)? Also how do I revert if want to undo this?

Just tried it. It does NOT get rid of the icon, it only makes it invisible. I plugged in my headphones and there was an empty slot in my status bar in between the headphone icon and the wireless icon.

oh you are right. sorry I actually had my NFC off. I turned it on, plugged in a headset and verified what you just posted.

So, does anyone actually know how to get rid of the icon entirely? It doesn't exist in the international ROMs, so there must be a way to do it.

Didn't work for me

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but i wanted to put this somewhere, and i installed this app recently.
Why after i installed this, it says "optimizing 5/250 apps"? Really? 250 apps?

[Q] Simple Question: what is this icon

So I got my phone today and I can not figure out what the icon displayed to the left of the alarm icon in the notification bar is. Additionally how in the world do I get rid of it.

I believe it's a part of Sense. So, no, unless you flash a custom rom.

Simple enough. While I have your attention, do you by chance have any idea why I am getting some weird display under my time on lock screen. See link

What's this?

I got my first Android phone on a Friday. Having a blast with it. But, I've been trying to find out what this is. Can't figure it out. Tried searching for it but can't find it.
It showed up on Saturday and never goes away.

I've personally never seen it. I also don't have Facebook installed. I would do the suggestion above, or try touching it and see what happens. You may just need to confirm something.
It doesn't go away even after pressing clear notification. I've tried pressing it. Nothing.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Anyone know how to close/disable the call counter box when in calls?

Does anyone know how to close or disable this call shortcut box?
it really gets in the way of multitasking during calls :crying:
I can't figure that out either. It's a complete PITA!

Wish I were rooted so I could get rid of it. On some phones like the S5, the in-call shortcut can be closed simply by holding it down and it will give u the option to close it. No such luck here =[
P.S. I'd love to give u a "thanks" but I don't think i'm allowed to yet, as I don't see that option anywhere.

Am I the only person here going completely nuts over all those notifications lol. You are worrying about the call one. I say worry about your notification bar first.

What other notifications do you want to get rid of?
G3 TweakBox has the option to get rid of most if not all of the system notifications you'd get then you can obviously disable each apps notifications from App Manager

Cloud, double battery, upcoming alarm.
Lol I am just joking. A few of them are directly related to post, like phone and screen shot.

Thanks for the root directions! I'll definitely take a look into it soon when I have a chance. I've always been quite withheld when it comes to rooting =/
probably a stupid question that's easily searchable...but how easy would it to be to un-root the G3? As of now, besides the darn call box thing i'm pretty satisfied with how the G3 is setup.

haha just realized the notification bar did look kinda funky there. I've been considering removing the android battery percentage there but i rather look at that one than the one from easy battery saver (which unfortunately has to stay there b/c it's linked to the one in the drop down menu)

If it doesn't work when you turn off the notification you can add it as a system app and it will allow it persistent use without the notification. Non system apps do this because the OS will shut them down if they aren't "in use". By keeping an icon in the notification bar they can look like they are in use to the OS. Making them a system app removes the new for that.

What is this Icon in Notifcation bar?

Over the weekend I upgraded to Marshmallow, and more or less it is going well. However, yesterday this new icon showed up. Not sure if it is a system icon or an app icon. Thanks.

I'm running your Imperius kernel, and I can't seem to find where to turn it off in the normal settings screens. Googling T-Mobile and Volte shows where to turn it off on other phones, but those settings aren't there on mine. I'll reflash your kernel and see if that fixes it.

H96 Pro Plus / Solid Circle In Status Bar

Hi Guys
I just purchased a H96 Pro Plus, in the status bar there is a solid circle icon that wont disappear no matter what I do, I also don't know what program it's tied to.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or if someone knows what it is, its freaking me out because it looks like a recording icon.
Android version of box is 7.1.1
I am posting here because I have no idea where else to post about this
Thanks in advanced! imgur.com/a/YXJf1
I cant submit an image

No, it's up top in the right hand corner where the time and wifi icon is.
When I click there all it shows is the wifi icon and a few others but the solid circle icon isn't there in the menu.
I'm thinking it's tied to a hidden system app but I have no idea what!
If you have a touchpad or mouse do a quick double click on the bar to make it show up fully.
Then you should be able to see what program is linked to it.
Go in the app manager and disable all notifications for that app - the circle should disappear.

I've done that, there's nothing there with the solid circle only the usual icons.
Even when I click on edit icons to either add or remove them; there is no solid circle icon there, this is what leads me to believe it's tied to a hidden app.
You wouldn't have the app "Sixaxis Controller" installed by any chance?

Nope, I have nothing like that installed.
Then I am running out of ideas here what could be represented by a solid circle
On my unit (7.1.1), the solid circle disappeared when I made change in system language. Just change it to anything, then change it back.
Another icon that may appear there is a circle with minus symbol in it. Thats means you mute the unit.

Wow that actually worked, how weird that it's related to language.
Thank You...
With the H96 Pro Plus (or others that are S912 devices) that have a solid white circle in the notification bar on the right side, this is a trojan indicator that is part of the Wireless Update utility. The updates for these boxes don't work anyway, even more so the wireless update. If you ran any decent anti-malware / anti-virus software on the device you would find the trojan. The solution is to uninstall the Wireless Update without running it and reboot.
For the white circle with the line in the middle, that is the DO NOT DISTURB icon. That can be changed in settings. Search for the word "Disturbed" in settings and turn it off.
Should you happen to get the White Trojan Token icon again, see what apps you have recently loaded. Run an app, like Malwarebytes against it and see if you possibly loaded something you really don't need on your device.
It should be noted a lot of MTK and S912 devices with hacked Chinese firmware may cause this icon to appear. It also shows up with hacked Yoka KB2 software upgrades. In this case, it is usually a BitCoin miner installed on your system, and it takes more than root permissions to remove it. Should this appear on an MTK device, run any form of benchmark software to test memory and you might be surprised the memory and CPU cores you thought you had were all a coded facade.
Hope this helps.
