[Q] Define the audio output of an app - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Since I do not know where to post this, I post here.
Being athletic, I use music application (PlayerPro) and a time (LafayChrono). Problem, the clock application serves medias volumes output, not the alarm volumes output. So, I can not set the volume independently of one another.
My question is, if it is possible to "root" the sound output of an app to another type of volume (LafayChrono to alarm volumes output) ?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
PS: If my post is in the wrong topic, let me know.
Cordially.

Dont use player pro with built-in amp. This is why i use volume plus external amp never need to buy a music player again. Because if they change the layout of the music player your stuck! I can use any music player never worry about trail period or buy add on. Wish you best of luck!

Ops, sorry your counting reps. Wow OK ! Sorry I put on 15 lbs muscle in 6 months never count reps. Takes me away from my workout. Eats up time and 1 1/2 hrs. I put in I do 300 to 500 reps from legs to cardio to back to chest. I don't have time to count only thing I try to remember is how much weight put on for push, pull and drag around. To add drag to workout just buy 40 lb weight vest.
I watch people all the time count. Haven't seen but one person in gym put on muscle only rights down results at end. Unless they come up app I can speak into my results it's waisted time. You have to do compound exercises in order to see results in this day and age of cardio freaks. It's only a fade. It will pass. At full speed best I can do is 35 to 45 minutes then begin cool downs. It took almost a year to get to this point.

Per-App volume control

I often use my phone to listen to the bible and listen to other things. But i really want to be able to turn on some background music with low volume and turn up the voices of my bible app.
Is there any app put there that could allow me to do better mixing?

I am looking to solve a similar problem.. I often use google navigation and google play music at the same time while driving; i don't like the music extremely loud, but if i set the music at a reasonable volume, I often cannot hear the navigation voice prompts clearly.
Will the above app let me turn up just the navigation voice prompts without affecting the music that is playing in the background at the same time? I think that both are outputed on the media audio channel, so if the app is just changing the volume at the level of the media channel it probably wont work.
Any ideas / experience is appreciated..
Thanks!
App volume can manage only the media stream, actually is not possible to separate per app streams with app volume app ...

It'd be awesome if some developer could manage to add the app's icon and volume slider to the default android volume bar upon expanding it..
just use automateit or tasker...

Here's what worked for me.
VLC media player has an equalizer that allows you to lower the volume of a song. Play songs on that at a lower volume and then find another application that allows you to run a separate media track to play audio tapes at a higher volume (my Lyrics Mania app works for this).
I just downloaded an app that worked:
App Volume Manager (for Android)
It is a relatively new app. You set the start up volume for the different apps. I just started using it. There are two issues with using this app:
1. I think it is a 21 day trial
2. I havn't been able to change volume realtime using the app.
For me it works because I just set the start of volume to what I am looking for. It is made to set the start volume not the real time volume.
Could you please shared the play store link?
I cannot figure out to find it.
Thank you

I believe this is the app referred to above:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jappstudio.appvolumemanager&hl=en
..haven't had time to try it, but the description indicates the free version is limited to three applications, but can be unlocked for about a dollar.
with 'App Volume Control' you can choose the volume for each app
non of this propositions work for me, but i know it is possible because when i start soundcloud and after flytube then soundcloud volume is decreased over the flytube.
Hi,
I m looking for the same, did you find it?
Thanks
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am looking for the same thing. App Volume Control does not work for what the OP was asking for. What we want is something that will adjust volume settings per app under one main setting ie; Media, Ringtone, System etc. Example. I'm playing a game that requires sound on for certain things but also want to listen to Spotify while I play. Both use the Media setting. Is there an app that will adjust boths volume to ones desired levels. App Volume Control does not do this and even states it's not possible.
Dont think it can be done on android as of yet.
It all gets played through "media".
Example playing a podcast in background while playing a game, and you want the game volume lower.
On pc's one way around this is virtual cables and virtual mixers, so if someone was able to funnel each apps audio virtually (with ability to set each individually with a slider) before it gets sent to the "media" sound slider would be a great idea.
Having download Poweramp, because it allows you to play sound simultaneously with other music player, lower the sound of what you need to play using the equalizer function. That way, you have the main music player, playing what you want on a high sound and power amp playing music on a low sound.
SoundAssistant by Samsung lets you control the volume of app running at the same time I use it to have 2 things playing over each other. It works perfect!
I think it only works with galaxy phones though.
Wow achieved it Samsung Sound Assistant. Thanks.
I m shocked there is still not a solution for non galaxy devices.
in my use case I would also be happy with just muting one specific app while allowing the other to be controlled by the media stream. Anyone know if this is possible?

I'm looking for this too in other forum and got the answer that at this time Sound Assistant from Samsung just can do this thing.

Headphones inline control skips and callsback?

Hello everyone. I have the skullcandy FMJ headphones but when i double click the inline control to skip track, it also calls back the most recent dialed number simultaneously. Does anyone know of any way to fix this? Preferably a way to disable the callback function?
download headset blocker from the market and you'll be good to go.
Thanks for your help, but I'm not looking for something to completely disable my headset as I'm not really getting any phantom calls, rather I need something to get around activating callback and next track at the same time.

What you want is actually Headset Button Controller, it'll allow you to change the stock behavior for double click plus it adds triple click, click and hold, and several other functions (or not, your choice). It's like $2-3 on the Market and there's a trial version I think. I use it with my MEElec M9P and it works perfectly. I'm surprised the app isn't more widely known since this is something manufacturers rarely get right on Android. Oh and it'll work with the stock music player and/or other players of your choosing.
If that's too steep (really?) there's a couple free music players that let you alter this behavior within the player only, I believe Winamp or dbPowerAmp do that, not sure. I like the stock player and it's integrated lock screen controls.

I use Headset Button Controller with my Sennheiser CX680i earbuds and it works great to control the button functions. You can even have it open an app upon cable insertion or preset volume etc. Great app.
Swyped using 2 cores and 3 Ds
Thats exactly what I was looking for Thanks!

Low Volume Fix ( use at your own risk )

If you would like to raise your maximum speaker and headphone volume output there is an app called volume+( its a $1.50). I use slideMe market and have an account with them this works well allowing you to set your max volume at intervals between 0 and 8. I like this because playon streams movies with low volume sometimes.
P.S. there is also a built in EQ that lets you choose ten presets.

I have the free version off the android Market and it was saying mine was already cranked from the factory.
I bought Volume+ from the Amazon Appstore but I couldn't get it to load. If anyone knows of a good sideload site, it would be appreciated.
bought the full version and confirms this works

Got it, thanks! Works perfectly; had to turn the volume down to halfway. Now you can easily hear it in a noisy room with it turned up to max.
+1
Great app. Can't believe how loud it gets.
here is a free download for volume + 1.8.0.4
Could not figure out how to make it a d/l link.... I'll keep playing, but it is located at the address below.
http://www.makingitdigital.net/android/VolumePlus1.8.0.4.apk
This sounds interesting, but what is it implying? That the NT voume control is not scaled to provide max volume when it's actually set to max?
I dont notice a difference a tall after enabling speaker mods and turning it to 6 or 7.
Well I'm getting mixed results. The volume is a little higher on the built in speaker. However it has no difference for the headset jack. This is dissappointing as that's what I bought it for -- to hear music/videos on a noisy airplane and noise-cancelling headphones.
Not sure if others are realizing this, but it takes a day or so for the speakers to break in. When I first bought the tablet, I could barely hear anything out of the speaker. Within a day or two, I was putting the volume down for some videos. Same with many new speakers, they need a day or two to break in before they give you their full volume.

how do i remove the sound limiter?

Problem solved, thanks to everyone.
If anyone searches for this in the future, plug your phone in to headphones, or your car, or whatever. the unusable options under audio will light up. You can set it to several different settings.
No one knows what to do? please help me, I can't take this much longer haha.
Did you really expect someone to answer your question within a day? Give it some time

Besides , go to system/audio. Swipe to the left and turn on "audio leveling" in the enhancements page. Try that.

Oh, got'cha, for some reason i didn't think it would take to long as I'm assuming this has been a problem in the past... How long does it usually take for a response? thanks
Maybe u should post some more information, like car/radio type how did u connect the phone with the car? bluetooth or headphonecabel?
Did u tried ur phone on an other sound devices and is it the same effect? was ur iphone louder? did u set ur phone volume to 30?
i think u should try to find out whats exactly the problem, if ur phone volume is at 30 there isnt that much u can do on ur phone. the problem must be somewhere else.
What music did u tried to play? did u try to play some other music, maybe some from xbox music?

Thanks man, but I don't even see that option anywhere in my settings. the closest thing is "audio" and it has an equalizer but I need headphones.

car: Subaru Impreza Wrx, I use an audio cable (just a green cable with 2 audio jacks, one plugs into the head unit + the other plugs into my phone. I use this for my laptop as well, and the bass hits the way I would like when I have my laptop plugged in. I have noticed that when I am listening to music on my phone, it will drop to a very low level. I then turn off my phone, and turn it back on, and it will say the phones volume has dropped from anywhere between 10-20 instead of the maxed 30 I had it at. I'm not sure if thats related. I know its universal across my phone, as far as watching music videos I have on my phone, pandora, and youtube. It is strictly the phone adjusting my volume level, but telling me it is at 30. I somtimes get a notification that pops up and says "it can cause ear damage if you have your music to loud" and its really not that loud tbh.

Listen, the audio menu has two pages,
"equalizer" and "enhancements". Once you select audio in the system settings, it will show the equalizer page by default. Swipe to the enhancements page to select audio leveling.

I see this, but it is blacked out and will not let me turn it to on. :\ the only option I can use on this page is "flip to silence" :\
This is brilliant. It worked, I never tried having it plugged in. I had a whole bunch of stuff typed out to say thank you but I accidentally deleted it. So I'll keep it short and simple, thanks guys. I feel really dumb x)

Q: Stock Music app starts playing automatically

Hi, so I've noticed this happen a few times on my trips to and from work, usually when I have bluetooth enabled. Once this morning when I had bluetooth connected to my car stereo, but was just listening to the radio, I unlocked my phone and music started playing. It happened again when I shut my car off too.
I've looked all over the setting menu, but I feel like I must be missing something that I have enabled that's causing this. Either that or this is the beginning of Toby from Paranormal Activity choosing me as his next victim.
Any help is much appreciated.
I tried to re - create this with John Zaffis the Haunted Collector and he thinks Harold Ramis hid a secret back to the future sports almanac in your trunk. He wants to do an investigation, what day and time is good for u?
As for the music playing automatically I couldn't get mine to do it. I have poweramp and there is a setting in it to allow/disallow automatic play when bluetooth or headset is detected. If u have another music player see if you have that in settings and disallow it maybe. I tried digging through stock music settings and couldn't find anything.
Good luck with that almanac though. RIP Ghostbusters

There's an app in the playstore called blutooth connect and play that should let u control it better. It actually gives u settings that will allow u to pick what music player plays over bluetooth and if it autoplays or not when connected. Check it out.

So I think Voice Control was the culprit. I noticed twice this morning that the music started playing right when I started my car, and I think the sound of it starting triggered the voice.
