Hi,
Im wondering what is the best camera app for AOSP since most stock asop camera has the "unable to connect to camera" problem.
Will using other camera app solve this issue?
I saw someone recommend this camera to someone in another thread so I tried it and so far so good

Hmm there are still people experiencing the unable to connect problem in that thread
I don't know about that. I've never had the issue myself. I've used it on AOKP, CM and PA without issues, so must be something other than the camera app causing it.
Alright I give it a go anyway thanks!

Trying to get camera to work properly.. Install this ROM and LOVE it Thanks to the develpoer...
When I open the camera and select video.. It records for a few seconds and then freezes
Once I try and reopen the camera it tells me it cant connect to it...
Please help..

I believe this is a known issue. If you go to the VEGAn site they mention it there.

The free app of the day in amazon's app store (photobooth) actually works with vegantab ginger... which was slightly surprising.

Thanks alot.. Looking to get the video side working now.. I been searching thru the forums.. Is the video not working because of drivers needed??
The problem is lack of drivers. They should be added at some point. We will have to be patient.

I believe the stock camera app relies on components of the Samsung stock TW framework... so I don't think it will work on an AOSP ROM, unfortunately.

I found ICS camera is more blurry than the GingerBread Stock camera.
How can I Solve this problem without using any third party apps.

blurry... that's odd. I'm on ICS myself, and I don't have any issues with the camera. Just video rec is laggy.
Try to clean your camera lens.

check the camera icon in the application
it sud work....
means open menu and click on camera app it sud work..
Which custom ROM 4.xx has camera working? Or is this still a WIP? I have browsed thru, but some thread have like 13 pages to go thru..
The camera works with the PAC-man ROM.

Yes I did. I got camera working by using an app called Snapchat. I'm wondering if there are alternatives to using that app, and wondering if anyone has camera working just using the stock app.

i can save pics with the ffc
i cant save with the back cam unless i use panorama mode. then it works fine

yes buddy front facing and back camera works very well with PacMan ROM, haven't tried other ICS Roms though. I upgraded through Gingerbread. ALthought Recorder seems to crash(I might try out another app for that. )
Please correct me if i'm wrong but i think that with PAC-MAN ROM (4.2.2) frontal camera works but rear camera can't take photos, only can preview images. In CM 10.1 it will occur the same cause PAC is based in it. Am I wrong?

Currently I'm using the moKee 6.0.1 V1 ROM. With this ROM and on all stock roms before the camera didn't work that awesome as it COULD be with this beast of a 21 Sony camera lens. The photos aren't as crisp and sharp as I've imagined they would be, as well as that autofocus isn't working properly. I think that this is a software related issue.
Do you guys have a good camera app for our Le Max 2?

Search "Footej Camera" on Play Store. It's an app made by Semaphore Inc. If you can't find it, pm me and I'll send it to you.

I can't help you as I'm on stock 017s and I'm using xposed but without the xprivacy, and no sophos.
Hm thanks anyway. I doesn't seem to work with my moKee v1. Maybe it'll work with moKee v4.
I am with cm and the same problems the cm camera works but it have focus issues and others. Can someone post here the 17s stock apk camera.
Edit: Footej camera doesn't work with cm, says the process stoped
I'm using footej camera app and raw works but everything is very washed out, faded color instead of dark rich vibrant like it's counterpart jpg? Anyone know if this is a driver issue of the phone even with the camera2api enabled?
