Help Guys!! I need the most STABLE ROM made for this device. I'll put in the extra work to load it, I just need it to be fully functional. CM would be appreciated of course, but I'll take anything. I prefer AOKP. Any ideas?
OP First idea would be to read the Forum Rules on posting....as this does not belong in the Development Section. Second idea would be to do some homework and run/test the ROMs yourself....and you decide what is stable for you.

In everyone's honest opinion what is currently the fastest and most stable custom Ics rom out there
All current ICS builds are alphas/betas. Not for novice users (despite what fanboys in various threads might tell you). The only way you're going to find out is to head over to the development forums, read a few of the ICS rom threads, then try one/some out for yourself.
Yep, just go read and search and try them out yourself. Nobody can answer this for you, so we close these threads.
Thanks
This Forum is meant for the newest/latest roms .....e.g. AOSP, CM, or AOKP source builds. Kernels from factory source also can be posted here.
If you are porting a rom, it belongs in the normal development section, not here.
Stock roms should also be placed here The ones from Samsung themselves as in new versions, new updated versions can go here as well. Not ones you jacked, cooked or modified..... those go in the other regular development section.
Also, Roms an Kernels that bring forth something new in coding ideas or revolutionary changes that other roms do not have should also be posted here...
Thank you, oka1
I've been trying to compare cdma gb roms, but other than mean rom they're all virtues and hard to find. I'm guessing they are just finished and everyone had moved on to ics. I was wondering if someone could do a rollup thread for them, like the rollup sticky thread it would make it a lot easier to find them.
CDMA or GSM? And yes, most devs have moved to ICS since it is very stable now. If you really want to run a GB rom, there really weren't that many, maybe 15 or so, just scroll through the dev sections.

rest you can find on your own.
Hello there,
I am new to the S2 phone (I will get one at the end of the month from a friend).
I see that there are lots of roms and kernels.
Now what I am searching for is:
Super optimized rom like Tigrouzens rom for Samsung Wave 1 and 2.
Also kernel super optimized.
With other words. a really fast rom (I don't want outdated roms).
Preffered android version:
4.3.X Jelly Bean / 4.4 Kitkat
Also, I don't really know how to install those roms/kernels. So a simple tutorial should do it. Because I once flashed one through odin from pc and not through recovery.
Greetings,
GreekBlood
Go to the development sections (Android Development & Original Android Development), read some threads, try out some roms to find one that suits your needs. Instructions for flashing roms are always on the first page devoted to the rom & always very clear.
Rom recommendations are forbidden here because they're so subjective, mods will close the thread if you insist on asking for them (this is XDA after all, if you're here, it's assumed you like flashing stuff to your phone).

And the best ROM is................................................................. LOL
I predict thread soon to be closed (i am psychic haha)
Oh, sorry.
But it is a bit of a mess here. So many roms, so many kernels.
I'm coming from wave 1 where we have 2 roms and 2 kernels.
Being a newbie, i being in you shoes a few days ago would advice you to start with understanding the fundamentals og flashing and use of the various recoveries out there. You say its a mess because you see so many roms and kernels and you dont know where to begin. Pick one and start and with time you will catch up with the rest. Good luck...modding and customizing android is like a rabbit whole...no end...

Reading the first page & last 10 pages of any rom/kernel thread will give you a couple of things:-
*Instructions how to flash & features
*Some idea of how users are finding the most recent build/any issues
That's a good place to start.
Some people treat this place like a macdonalds drive-thru.

I know I know.. the question I asked is really asking for stupid answers.
However I find it very difficult to go through all the posting in the development section - and I did that's why I know - to find a good and stable ROM.
And since development has more or less come to an end a while I go I hope anyone can provide me with some useful suggestions.
I don't care whether it is 4.1 or 2.3 based. All I need is rock solid ROM which is easy on power/battery usage
If you recommend me flashing the original firmware is my best choice then I'll do that (probably it is very stable however it's super slow as well).
I'd really be grateful for some honest recommendations.
