thanks for you answer. i've downloaded a flashable zip of dna stock rom.
i've found weather icons in com.htc.weather.res.apk. i wanted to use that but are very strange jpg's, because they have a strange background (filled of a mix of colours as in the attached image) instead of transparent background. do you know why?

Jpg's will always have a white or colored background. You can achieve a transparent background with a png for example.

Wassup guys?!?
As you may know, the Wildfire has a low-res screen - with a relatively small number of pixels/inch (pixel density) - this is called low density or LDPI. However, CM7 currently uses MDPI resources - which are higher-res and are made for screens with higher pixel density.
So why should this bother you? Because these images are scaled down by the system to fit our screen - and they lose their sharpness and goodness as intended by Google, and the result is... yucky. Gradients get choppy and weird unintended colours pop up. And, the icons are small enough that due to our low pixel density, they use very few pixels and are washed out and ugly.
That's where this theme comes in. It turns out, AOSP has complete LDPI support for the main framework, so I ported those resources and resized/cropped/edited SystemUI resources to better fit our screen. Also, the icons are larger and easier/more pleasant to see on our low-res screen. Gradients are now how they were always meant to be - a smooth transition from one colour to another.
Download here.
Enjoy LDPI goodness. I doubt you won't like this if you're a fan of stock gingerbread.
What's themed
-Entire framework (dialogs, spinners, buttons, backgrounds, etc)
-Status bar icons and notification dropdown
-Settings icons
-Smooth indeterminate progress bars (stock is so choppy)
-Battery percentage / supercircle mod (separate versions)
To Install
Install apk file like normal from a file manager.
Open theme manager. Choose the one with the screenshot below for the preview, and hit Apply and then Apply anyway.
REBOOT REBOOT REBOOT to see all changes.
Changelog
1.0 RC4 [20/3] - Themed some missed out notification icons (music, gmail, email, calendar), themed music app, and music/news&weather widget backgrounds. Also some other stuff... can't remember
1.0 RC3u2 [19/3] - Crisped up the notification power widget icons.
1.0 RC3u1 [17/3] - Added themed keyboard
1.0 RC3 [17/3] - Added Cyanbread version, fixed clear notifications button, minor changes, themed phone call background. GMail show pictures button not working, got rid of ugly edges though. Coming up - themed keyboard.
1.0 RC2u2 [10/3] - fixed green progress bars (lol me)
1.0 RC2u1 [9/3] - minor update, fixed weird tabs. I think this theme is preeeety much done, unless someone finds another bug
1.0 RC2 [9/3] - fixed alarm icon, headset icon (why google, why have you made such a dumb one and given me extra work?), touched up the chat icon, fixed a couple bugs which i bet nobody noticed, added battery%/supercircle versions.
Files are now in my dropbox for easy uploading.
1.0 RC1 [8/3] - Initial release

Not only icons, I ported the ldpi framework from AOSP and I'm in the process of ldpi-izing SystemUI.
That means pretty much anything with a gradient looks waaaay better now.

and ALSO why not make your own theme instead of complaining? And if you can't you can at least say your 'requests/suggestions' in a nice way, what you did was sooooooo demanding.

@OP: thanks in advance for this.
When this theme is finished, it would be great if it is integrated in cm7 by default. is there a change?
EDIT:woow it is finished! Thank you!

I want to make a loskscreen mod for my Evo I want this to look like the Warm z Lockscreen found on this thread theme made by incubus26jc..
I manage to get the ring look alike the one on the theme and I also made the bottom image transparent like in the theme but I can get the bubbles under the icons shortcuts to be transparent..
I found the bubbles images in the Idlescreen_Base.apk and when I make the image transparent and repackage everything and flash I can get the ring or the icons to load..
Here is an image of what I got so far..

oh haha I didn't even realize this was your thread, the same person that messaged me. But maybe so you could get exactly what you want you could try out the UOT Kitchen.
Would really like to make several Metroid Themes for my Rezound running Viper 1.0.3. I'm very new to it and was wondering what files to edit. Like do I edit the files in the drawable-hdpi or the ones in drawable-xhdpi? Are they basically the same files but in different resolutions? Also how do I edit the statusbar's look. Not the icons on the status bar but the actual status bar itself; like turning it from like black to red or something?
I think its drawable-hdpi. I haven't themed in awhile and my ssd corrupted so I lost all turning progress I had on my computer. As to theming the status bar; I think its part of the systemUI.

No it's always going to be xhdpi
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
It's a hybrid of the 2. Most are in xhdpi.

I'm learning myself, I hoping to see the venom theme engine to evolve enough to theme other aspects of the Rom like misc apps or accents throughout the Rom
I'd suggest if your not using virtuous ten studio to try it out, it really makes life easier

Thanks for all the help. I have one more question about notification icons. When I open them in photoshop they are indexed and in 8bit; do I need to keep them that way or can they be RGB?

I haven't had issues with changing it
All I know is .9.pngs are the ones that give you issues

ok thanks I'm giving it a try.
EDIT: In the Statusbar theme can I add things from SystemUI.apk such as the Notification Bar Background and have that show up in my theme or would I have to edit SystemUI.apk?

you will want to open the indexed images in something like paint.net, save them, then open in photoshop to edit.
If you are only worried about the statusbar icons then i would suggest grabbing the theme template from viprez thread and just change them, much easier approach and you know what icons you need to change.
Ok thanks for all the help. I think i can take it from here. Again thanks everyone.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
The BStar & Novena are different system type builds...Those icons on BStar are individually theme by the RD for that ROM. Unless you pickup the theme'ing niche and do it your self, I myself am looking into the theme'ing world, just have to make time.
