[Q] Wifi error after custom ROM - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just installed feralab v27 fire on Xperia X10 and I now cannot get wifi.
Methods I have tried:
-Rebooting the phone
-Wifi fixer app (along with related apps)
-Punching in *#*#256#*#*
-Reinstalling the ROM
I was told in another thread to download and then flash stock wifi modules/drivers but I cannot seem to find a download link for these.
I really like this ROM and would rather not have to revert back to stock since the camera doesn't work.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Try to take a look in the original thread for the WiFi modules, if you won't be able to find any just find for example doomkernel and there are the links for those files also.

[Q] WiFi error on X10s

Hi people,
i recently installed the new x10s v7 rom, when i go to turn on the wifi its says error.
i used xrecovery install the kernel and wifi provided.
Reboot and install WiFi again
Sent from my flying X10 using xda premium
thanks
i used a different method and fixed it but thanks for the tip
How did you manage to fix it, cause I am facing the same problem now after several restarts and reflashes...

Kernels can only be flashed from a PC with flashtool, WiFi fix zips are installed with xrecovery. Both kernel and WiFi fix must be matching pair.
From my XPERIA X10S v8.2 on kCernel @ 1.19ghz
Kernels released these days are ftf files... For flashing with flash tool... But if you have an old version, it could be a zip file. I had dk v6 zip file earlier. Try to download latest files. Also flash kernel first, then the ROM, then addons.., but do switch phone on before installing WiFi modules in any case.

When you flash v8 final of x10s you have to install the correct wifi modules for your kernel
If your using Doomlords v6 take a look at his thread and you will see the respective wifi modules zip files
if you need any help with x10s rom please post in HERE or HERE
Thanks

hi sir... I also encountered the same problem... i would like to ask how to install the wifi? is there a file needed to install the wifi?
Which kernel do you use?
WiFi drivers come with almost all kernels, if you use stock kernel, no need for WiFi drivers
As soon as I know what kernel you are using ill sort the driver for you ;-)

[Nandroid] 2.3.3 Nandriod, Stock CDMA R800x with Root

As I was having issues recently with DoomKernel and wifi constantly having issues, and several attempts to resolve it with no fix. I noticed that there was no 2.3.3 stock Nandroid floating around these forums.
So I decided to reflash 233 FTF and create this nandroid with root, and share it here. I scrounged several threads and did several searches and only ever came up with 2.3.4 for R800x, but no 2.3.3 nandroid. Anyways here is the link for Stock R800x 233 with Root. This is a fresh and clean straight from FTF, with only root added. Thats all. If anyone wishes to upload this nandroid to another place as a backup link for mine please do but I do ask that you keep the download link here for those who may wish to have a fresh nandroid.
Anyways... enjoy ya'll.
Nandroid is zipped, just uncompress and restore to your Sdcard in the following place:
SDcard
-clockwork
--backup
---My 233 nandroid in a folder

Thanks so much! DooMKernel was giving me constant issues as well, I'd find myself flashing back to stock and having to redo everything.

After FTFing (haha.... f'ing) back to fresh 233, I spent all evening restoring everything back manually and then reflashed doomkernel with wifi modules and everything runs great...... I had not ftfed since Aug of last year... I had just been restoring my nandroid backup... so I guess it was time to get that fresh 2.3.3 FTF smell back
What kernel are you using with stock 2.3.3, preferably one with built in recovery and working wifi

I did titanium backup on blackstar and it works for me. Plus its not JB. So since you aren't on JB you don't need to follow above link. I would uninstall and do it again. Did you full wipe and all that jazz before flashing blackstar?
Hope you figure it out. Post up your solution should you fix it.

Check : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669906. Download image, boot phone in Flashmode ( Vol down + USB connect if i remember correctly ) , and flash it. The software is pretty self-explanatory.
It's always good to keep backup, if nothing else but to revert to stock/earlier Rom without losing all data.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1937792. Gives you several choices of Stock based on region as the first few links.
One of them is a torrent, I would recommend that, even though I downloaded the Indian ftf. I don't think it makes a difference which one you use, especially if you're going to switch to a custom Rom later.

could someone please make a torrent of .110 (india)?...because in the link above the torrent if available only for the global version.
Does it really matter if its India ? Just out of curiosity, would there be anything lost if we were to flash, say global ?

Technically it shouldn't. There was a huge rush to flash the Indian version, at it was the first of the Sola ICS' on XDA. Loads of people flashed it, irrespective of region. I guess it doesn't matter as in case we ever need to give back to Sony, they'll have bigger issues than checking which version of stock we're on. I'm not really sure though
have kept the global version to download...maybe it will take a day or so and i can flash only then
ftf for .110 is downloaded. can someone tell me how to flash it. i also downloaded flashtool.

WiFi wont turn on!

Alright I am a super noob on the DNA. Just got this yesterday and i unlocked and rooted the device. Then I installed the Hatka Rom, but now my WiFi doesn't want to turn on. When I got into settings it just says turning on
But it never does, I have tried factory resets and reboots but nothing is working. What am I doing wrong?
You have to flash the modules zip for whichever kernel you're using.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Tab 2 10.1, whose WiFi would try turning ON but then push back to OFF on its own in 2-3 seconds.
Would flashing the module zip help for my problem? If so, could you please instruct on how that is done. I'm a new bee at it.
Thank you,

Please Help, I am having the same issue. WiFi will not work on any rom except for stock roms. Everything else is fine including mobile data. How can I get just the Modules as a .zip? I looked in the kernel zip for the rom I have installed but the modules folder is not a .zip. Do I extract that and zip it separately?
