Hi, :cyclops:
Here is the information about the current state of my Xperia P:
Phone Software version: 1254-4233_6.1.1.B.54
File System Version: WORLD_61.1.B.54
S1 Boot Version: 1240-4128 R10E010
ETS Software Version: 1255-3022_30
Customization Version: 1262-3681_R2G
Active Customization: 1262-3681_R2G
Content Version: PA8
Type Number: AAD-3880135-BV
This Xperia had its bootloader unlocked, it had a custom ROM (Telstra, Australian provider) but was flashed to the original Sony ROM following the instructions from the Sony official web page.
To what I found so far is that most of the updates for the Xperia P depend on the S1 Boot Version, but my brother has an Xperia P with the same S1 Boot Version as this one, the difference is that my brothers did not have a custom ROM (original unlock from factory), and my brother's did get the Jelly Bean.
Now, I'm wondering if the Xperia Ps that were flashed to Sony's official ROM do not get Jelly Bean? Is this correct?
Is there a way to get ROM from my brotherĀ“s Xperia P and flashed to my Xperia P?
Can anyone advice me what should I do to get my Xperia P running Jelly Bean?
Thanks for taking you time to read my post and special thanks to the ones that will reply to this post. It can be in Spanish or English, but I think Spanish can only be through private messaging.

Hey, cyberphoenixz, thanks for your recommendation. :good:
Do you know if there the possibility to get a hold of a Sony original unlocked ROM?
Thanks .

i have an Xperia P too and i unlocked the bootloader myself.
Are u sure your that your phone came with an unlocked bootloader (you said from factory)?
AND: You dont mix up SIM-Lock and Bootloader Lock?
I ask because usually u get a phone with the ABILITY to unlock your bootloader yourself, which voids your guarantee.
I have never heard of a xperia P that came with an unlocked bootloader tbh. You HAVE to do it yourself.
Also i have never heard or sth called "S1 Boot Version"... Whats that?
Either you can unlock your bootloader or not... no versions or sth like that...
Read up on bootloaders here: Its for Xperia S but is the same for P
From there:
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

So, i assume ur phone says "YES" and your bootloader has been unlocked (by someone...:silly. If that is the case you can NOT get any updates from the official PC Software any more. If u want that, you have to re-lock your bootloader.
Thats the point where flashtool comes in. It is a tool that lets you flash official firmwares even if u have an unlocked booloader.
You can read up on this tool (and other general stuff) here.

You can change your SI number in there (wherever applicable) and you will receive the update through PCC.
There was this thread with all the SI list but I can't seem to find it now

Hi Guys!
Here's my story. I have a Neo with locked bootloader, when I tried to check it with it's original firmware version (lower than 4.0.2.A.0.42) before, using the *#*#7378423#*#*, in service info, the status is missing. So, it means i can't unlock my bootloader! Same thing with my friend's ARC.
Now, I updated my phone and my friends phone to the latest (in our area) firmware version 4.0.2.A.0.62 and when I tried to check it again using the *#*#7378423#*#*, the status is now showing - Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes.
How come rooting is allowed now? it wasn't when it still has the out of the box firmware. Any explanation?
look at my attached screen shot.
Thanks!!!
Just checked mine and mines says NO, 1242-4466 4.0.2.A.0.62 Generic user
Maybe they put that line " Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes." in few last firmwares, thats why you maybe didn't see it before.
And it doesn't mean you can root, it only mean that your fastboot is enabled, so you can go ahead and unlock your bootloader, with either official way or unofficial with s1tool, which I advise you.
And when we are at root, rooting 62 is a bit tricky if you don't have your bl unlocked. But thats another story
thanks for the infos.
I just want to put SuperUser so I can get rid of the bloatwares, I'm running out of space. I'm not really interested with custom roms, i'm satisfied with the stock ones.
I'm still thinking about rooting though! I have a noob feeling about it with Neo. lol!
Thanks again! Have a nice day!

firmware version isn't important. check what you have in service menu under service info->configuration
I am getting really irritated of the amount of totally nonsense information out there, and no real or "official" way for unlocking bootloader for Xperia Go. Can someone please help me so I can unlock my bootloader? All I see are guides with massive walls of text, nothing official stated about Xperia Go. I don't want to screw my phone up by doing some mistake by myself -_- so can somebody PLEASE tell me how?
Hey,
Before I can help you, I need to know which build you are on.
The 3 common builds are
6.0.B.3.184
6.1.1.B.1.10
6.1.1.B.1.54
To check it, go to Settings>About Phone then scroll to the bottom and read the number then post it here.
Also, tell me what OS you are running, The fastboot drivers required to unlock it doesn't work in Windows 8 unless you enable test mode for windows 8.
Additional information on how to unlock the boot loader can be found on the Sony Developers page.
Note: If you want to root it, DO NOT flash the version 6.1.1.B.1.54. Because Sony patched the exploit.
Hi thank you for replying, I swear that I have searched information for HOURS and I learned that it is not easy to find for Xperia Go.. :S as it is for some more known models.
Here is the info
Model: ST27i
Software version: 6.0.B.3.184
I use Windows 7 on my PC, also I have downloaded Flash Tool 0.9.8.0 by Bin4ry & Androxyde (it shows 0.9.9.0 update is available, should I update it?)
Edit: unlocked myself already

Updates are region and/or provider dependant.
You can take your chances and flash generic world formware.

I want to do it so i can root my phone, but since I've never done this, I'm a bit insecure and hesitant.
From the research I've done rooting my Xperia P is preferred to be done with the latest firmware which I don't have.
What would you suggest I do? I am completely new to this.
Thanks

Like before you do anything with your phone, take a full backup with PC Companion, and backup other data it doesn't manually.
Then you will need to download and install flashtool, install the drivers for Xperia P, flash mode, and fastboot mode with the drivers installer from drivers directory under flashtool directory.
Find and download generic 6.2.A.1.100 firmware file and flash it.
Exclude TA when you flash.
I have my firmware uploaded here, it's a two part 7-Zip, archive.
You may look for others that are more sutable for your region.
To root 6.2.A.1.100 use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
My phone is acting really crazy and I can't do a backup with PC Companion, nor with the phone app for backup, but I don't care anymore.
I'll try everything you suggested and let you know if it worked.
Thanks a lot, you have been more than helpful. I really appreciate it.
Hello everybody, this is my first time here, if I do something wrong please forgive me.
To describe my situation I will tell you everything that I do. First, I was trying to install Cyanogen, I learnt about it using flashtool and I understood the procedure using fastboot mode, but for my surprise I found out that my device has Unlock bootloader with No, when I found this I feel a little sad because everywhere said that this option has to be with yes, this is mandatory. I didn't give up and I continued searching others options to install cyanogen on my device, or if it is possible change the option to yes, but the only option that I found is using a testpoint and a software S1 Tool (this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730874), but this option for my device is paid, is not included in S1 Tool, after that I downloaded a ftf firmware for my device and I installed with flashtool in flashmode to test if this change that option, the installation was ok, but the option Unlock bootloader still has No.
I haven't found any other option, do you have any option to install Cyanogen on my Sony Xperia U ST25A, I'd like to do for myself to learn.
Thank you to everybody in advance.
Regards
You can't. The test point method was only for the 2011 devices.
If your contract is over you can contact your carrier or sony and request them to unlock your phone.
With your bootloader locked you cannot flash custom kernels and any thing beyond cm 9 is not possible.
Search for cm 9 locked bootloader xperia u.

Is it possible to go back to stock kitkat 4.4.4 ftf from a stock lollipop 5.0.2 without having any issues like losing imei number or any other problems? My xperia z ultra 6833 was not upgraded from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 with Ota. I flash with a stock 5.0.2 ftf via flashtool

Why do I need to wait for 5.0.2 root? Or unlock bootloader? I wasnt rooted and my zu bootloader was locked when I upgraded from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 with Sony flash tool. All I needed was a ftf file with same region

I'm not sure if you can downgrade that way. I would try? Maybe not? If anything goes wrong you could always just flash stock again.
If you root and unlock bootloader you can move between android. I'm on 5.0.2 I can go back to kitkat anytime I want.
Has anyone downgraded from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4 yet? without having to root or unlock their bootloader. The reason I don't want to unlock my bootloader is because I accidentally erased my ta backup. That's why Im trying to get back to 4.4.4 so I can root and backup my ta again to unlock my bootloader. I just want to know if it is safe to downgrade my 6833 zu without root or unlocked bootloader
Thanks
Lollipop uses a different firmware so probably not. I didn't black up my TA .. I just went about unlocking it.
Try to flash a 4.4.4 ftf?
Yes but I want to back up my ta first before I unlock my bootloader because if I don't I'll lose the xreality keys and warranty. so it has different firmware so 5.0.2 won't be downgradable to 4.4.4? so you suggest I wait for a 5.0.2 root.
Sorry yes I wanted to to flash a stock 4.4.4 ftf with Sony flashtool
I figured I would give an update I was able to downgrade from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4 ftf with a locked bootloader without any problems

So someone who gets an Ota for lollipop can turn around and root their phone? The only reason you're rooted is because you downloaded a pre rooted rom.
So again lollipop is un rootable
So has anybody followed this guide?

You're in the wrong device section. This is the Z Ultra forum. Anyhow, I see that you have the ZL, so I'll make this short. Tell me your region, and I'll make you a 4.4.4 FTF.
EDIT: I'm assuming the C6506 is the American version of the ZL, so the only 4.4.4 file that's available is the one for Puerto Rico. I'm building it now, so I'll put a link to it here when it's done.
