Surely if he has tried different ROMs then he's wiped data... Or maybe not, wiping data when installing a new ROM is just common sense to me

that's the point - what's common sense to me and you may be like rocket science for someone else

Bigger Issue
My i9300 keeps rebooting, as soon as I plug the battery it powers on by itself and starts rebooting endlessly...
Even if i go on recovery mode or download mode it keeps on rebooting so it doesn't let me do anything.
I've unplugged battery for an hour and it still does the same thing.
Any ideas?? Please help me!

S2 GT-I9100G stuck on boot screen after flashing Stock 4.0.4, I9100GXXLPZ, I9100GODDL

Namashkaar Everybody,
I had a rooted S2 GT-I9100G with Stock 4.0.3, I9100GXXLPQ, I9100GODDLP7 on it.
Today I tried to upgrade it to Stock 4.0.4, I9100GXXLPZ, I9100GODDLP9 through Mobile Odin Pro.
I did what I normally do with options ticked and wipe data & cache and wipe Dalvik cache.
After phone rebooted , its stuck on First screen of "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G" screen.
Its not going into download mode neither its restarting nor I could find a solution anywhere else.
Its my father's phone and is out of warranty.
What should I do?
I start this thread in hope that you all might be able to help me.
Thanking you in anticipation

Thanks for replying, If I could I would have, since i couldnt that is the reason I posted on XDA to find out the alternate solution.
To flash through PC Odin I have to be in download mode, as mentioned clearly , I am unable to get into download mode.
So, now if you know how to flash through PC Odin without getting into DOwnload Mode, please do let me know .
Thanks again.

For now ... Try to take out the Battery
And see if you could get into Recovery .
If you could get into Recovery .. WipeData and Cache manually and try to reboot again ..
See if this helped .

use a usb jig ?
Reported...3 such threads already...
Ok...are you sure about can't go into download mode? Press volume down, home and power button simultaneously... do not let go...keep on pressing until the phone lights up...if not, try volume up, home and power...you should get into recovery mode...if you are able to, just factory reset and try again...

Duh...in the Q&A section...I have already gave you some advice... tried it?
Ok...seems that you got a hard brick...the only way is to get a usb jig or a jtag unit...but try a jig first...it is easy...I even made one myself...

Wow "i am feelin lucky" hackers are getting a sense of humor...
U shouldve understood immediatly it was a virus...if it cant find something its probably cause the virus flashed stuff on your phone. Try searching the internet for this sort of phone infection youre likely to find the "fix" immediatly..

I decided to reboot the device, it got stuck on the booting screen, I did a battery pull. NOW MY PHONE WON'T TURN AT ALL! I plugged the charger, connected it to pc, tried to go into Recovery/download mode, nothing is responsive at all. What went wrong? :crying:

I cant factory reset it, since it doesnt want to go in recovery mode.
Oh now I understand. So it bootloops on recovery, android and download mode?!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Obvious question but is the battery charged? Does it charge when switched off?
ewalkol uniting
Okey just to make things clear:
Yes it is charged.
If i start it normaly, without pressing any Buttons except to power button i get a bootloop is vibrating periodicly and i see my bootscreen forever.
If I want to get in recovery mode or download mode (volume up/down+home+power) it Shows me the Samsung sIII Screen and turns off again.
If u know anyone with a usb jig...that mite helo u get into download mode

If it worked fine before the screen was broken then either something else was damaged at the same time or the repair process has added something new.
If you can't get it into download mode then not a lot you can do, usb jig or repair clip might work -but only if the motherboard is undamaged..
