haha, he probably didn't use his phone much. On screen time is probably the most important factor in battery life.

I was surprised to see how much battery life I'm getting out of this phone. I've used it a lot and it still lasts me whole day without having to recharge. I guess Cuz it's pretty new, but let's see.

Use power saver mode charge to100% and use battery calibration app...this erases the batterystats.bin file
Let full discharge once then charge to 100 %
This tool actually helps a lot.
Minimize cpu set to on demand .
I get like 18hrs from 100% down to 8 %
That's from 6 am to 12 midnigt total of 18hrs.
I believe my 82 System app/Debloat illustration is the reason behind my stats.
Check out the thread freeze as many of the system apps as shown .
Pick and choose some may want to use some of the system apps. The ones I froze I found useless to me.

Do you realize I've done none of that and I'm at 18 hours and almost 4 hours screen-on with 30% remaining as of this writing? How many times does it need to be stated that wiping the battery stats is pointless? How many times does it need to be said that draining lithium ion batteries to 0 is more harmful than good? That's all a placebo, nothing more and nothing less.

battery calibration is a myth. its been debunked by a google engineer...

two days: phone call 20 minutes, surfing internet 1 hour, listening to music 6 hours
Hey guys up loving my HTC one but the battery on my phone seems to die very quickly specially after playing a few games eg. Candy crush is anyone else experiencing the same problem . I always have the phone on power saver mode and I'm also running the batteryguru app . Should exchange the phone for a new unit ?
Actually, my E4GT was getting 1.5 hours of screen time 12 hours of battery. IDK why it was, it just was. What I'm seeing here, I will be more than happy. And I have an external battery charger? Oh yea.
And the person who only lost 30% from having their phone on for almost 12 hours, that's godsend to me. I leave my phone on over night and lose 30%. LoL!! I can't wait until my HTC One says shipped. (Tmo). They just took the payment out today after purchasing it this Monday. I hope this means their' going to ship it. (Overnight). =.D

If only the Defender case would fit around an extended battery. My phone dies too fast with Bluetooth on all day and making calls all day for work. Plus the loads of texts and surfing, lol.

Sure that would show some nice info, but with the 3D there's no way the stock battery would only use 8% in 7 hours even with the screen off (unless mobile data was shut off.)

To be honest I think that WiFi uses less battery than mobile data, so even with the push email it'll use less than just the mobile data without push. Let me rephrase what I said then. There's no way I'll ever see that little loss over that length of time, even without using the phone just in my pocket I lose 10% in less than 2 hours.

Wow, again, no way I'd ever see that battery life. I'm running Steel's ROM with one of the dual core kernels, nothing that should be draining it, just crappy data here so I guess it struggles to work draining the battery.

A weak cell signal is really rough on the battery. I use wifi at work and home, both have full signal 90% of the time. If my phone is just sitting there at idle it barely uses any battery. Showing battery life since unplugged really isn't giving any info. Up Time and Awake Time since unplugged, with either Data or Wifi on, is what everyone should be showing. That actually gives everyone a general idea of battery life...
With my Anker 1900mah batteries, I get from 20-34 Up with 5-6 Awake, depending on my usage.

If you look at the time where the battery dropped the most, your phone was awake but the screen was off that whole time. There is an app that is keeping your phone awake. I have never had that problem before but I am sure that there is a program on the market that would help find the culprit.

None lol. You'd have to get an extended if you really want extra life that bad. I contacted Motorola few weeks back and complained about battery life (even though its not bad at all) and they offered to send me one for free. Best solution is to have 2 batteries!
If you really want to save yourself some battery ditch all those juice defender type apps and just uncheck these when you're not on your phone. I can get my phone to last at least 28 hours on a single charge by turning these on only when I need them. But battery life isn't a problem for me because I have 2 OEM batteries

honestly it's got great battery life, but if you go to a service and repair center and ask them to test your battery, they could at the vary least get you a replacement battery. ( if it's bad)
also turn off your GPS, for what ever reason the GPS hogs a TON of batt. on this phone. more than any other phone i've ever owned actually...
First, what Kenny said. I have 2 batteries but only really carry both when I'm going out or know I will be taking pictures or video (trust me, both will drain your phone real quick)
My GPS is NEVER on unless its in CarDock and im traveling in unfamilar area! No use for it at home. WiFi either. I have 2 computers at work and 3 at home.
Lastly, ante up the $$$ and get your battery from Motorola. Not all batteries are alike. (then again, I had 5 battereis with Evo I got for like $3.00 each. Some of them had some good run time?)

Any phone you pick up that has constant data running in background with a large screen will drain if you never put it down. Ask the galaxy nexus people lol? Only simple solution is to stop using it as much. Also cdma phones are known to have worse battery than GSM especially sprint; the worse your signal is the worse the battery life is. Unfortunately, sprints signal is terrible every where so we all suffer. If I use my phone for 3-4 hours straight I would have the same results. Just get a backup OEM battery man. I assure you for us HEAVY users thats about normal man. If your display is over 60% you need to put your phone down and take a break buddy. 70% and you're complaining about battery life? I just noticed that lmfao
PS that battery app doesn't do anything man get rid of it
I actually got rid of that app right after I posted this hahaha and the background data switch gave me significantly better battery life!! Now im at over 3 hours and at 48%!

Edit- any thoughts on this deal or similar ones?

The only batteries I recommend is the stock 1750 OEM. I've owned a ton of android phones and I'm not a fan of aftermarket cheap batteries. Here's what you do: Go to moto website, register your device, find te troubleshooting link, chat with a live rep, tell them your battery keeps getting extremely hot, make sure you tell them you've done hard resets from settings and through recovery, let them talk a bit, tell them sprints being if no help and wants to charge you for new battery, and get a free one sent to your house.
I did exactly what I just told you and it worked. Don't waste money buying those after market batteries..
Next I have to chat with them again for a free battery replacement door because mine makes little noises now from taking the back off so much. Plus its super thin and not a high grade of plastic.

My battery life ranges between a day and a half if I'm not using it much, to about 4 hours if I watch a few videos on it from NetFlix. I've noticed the battery seems to last longer with a stable 4G connection compared to 3G, and a lot longer than 4G with a constant WiFi connection (I have about 48 apps on the phone, battery life is significantly longer w/no apps installed)
I think I'll find an extended battery for good reviews then also try to get a free oem battery and rest both.

We should generate our own thread with battery stats for the AT&T version of The HTC One X+ because we have the LTE version. I expect that our batteries will drain faster. I will post my stats as soon as I am through my 3rd charging cycle. +/- power saver will be interesting as well as overnight in sleep mode. I normally don't optimize a lot to keep my battery drain low. My GNex made it without a problem through a day and night.
I'm on my second cycle and the battery has been exceptional! 1.5 days on a single charge so far.

6 hours with slight/medium use and I am down to 50%: No battery optimizations. Screen is on auto-brightness. I will use better battery stats to get a better idea what drains the battery. I burn 10% of battery/hour with light/medium use that's too much.

If I open better battery stats the overview is on the first screen I see. You only see it when the phone is not charging. You have to wait a while until it populates with data. No root necessary. Try to switch the view from since unplugged to since charged and back. That might help.
Interesting. I got my replacement device yesterday and I ran better battery stats: My battery drains now only 5%/hour instead of 10% and the CPU clocks down to 50Mhz while not in use. My first HOX+ never went below 500Mhz. Looks like not the battery was kaputt but the CPU had some issues I would say.

20 hours on battery power makes you constantly feel tethered to the wall? I think your expectations are a bit unrealistic. You're on a quad-core device with a huge high-def screen. 20 hours seems very reasonable to me. Charging once a day is pretty standard for most modern portable devices. I think 16 hours is about the target I look for, that way it can be plugged in when I sleep and run unplugged the rest of the day.

I agree. Sixteen gets me through what I need for the day. But, I haven't gotten that yet. How's it shaping up for you?

I haven't had to use it for an extended day away from home, but after my 8 hour shift at work and commute to/from work, I still had 65%. Seems great so far!

Yes, that's pretty good. I am satisfied at the moment too. I get 15 hours with medium use (texting, facebook, music streaming via BT and internet) and 2 hours screen on time.I am just on my 2nd. charge cycle so I hope it improves a bit.

And if you enable it in the settings you can just swipe you palm across the screen to take one as well.
back on topic......i charged my battery to 80% before having to leave for work......
i drove to work with BT audio on...and some light txting and soem web use with 4g on all night from 345-present time 1130 and im at 52%.
im going to have to say that so far battery is great!
Simply amazing. Still have 48% left and for the first hour of screen on time I was at 100% brightness. Then I set it to auto since that will be my everyday setting. I have been on wifi though but I would expect at least 85% of the above numbers had I been on 4G lte.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
I didn't take a screen shot cuz I needed to switch batteries and get to work but I ended up have over 13HRS with a little over 5 hours of on screen time and 1hr and 22 minutes worth of phone calls. I say pretty damn good since I was on the phone playing with it all day lol

This Was pulling the Battery out of the package and installing it without ever plugging it in. I am stoked for this phone. 50% down to 26% after 3 hours of screentime.

wow, screen must be a battery sucker. 6 hours screen on time is nice, but expected better on this device. Seen a DNA battery shot that had 6hours screen on with its 2020 battery.
Well im sitting at over 7 1/2 now. Ive been running Benchmarks etc. So for a first charge in my opinion it is outstanding. Ive been going non stop. This thing rocks and Ive got 70gb of usable memory on board. Lol. My guess is that without my screen cranked up and normal use without all the testing , downloading etc.,Ill be at a comfortable 9 hrs screen time.

LOL 6 hours my as** on the DNA, had it, the best I got was 3 hours and 45 minutes and that was majority of the time on wifi but never got above 3 hours on regular usage. The screen on you saw must be with 0% brightness and I would go as far as saying it was faked.. no way that thing got 6 hours of screen on time. I am 5 hours now and I still have 30% battery left and the first hour of screen on time was 100% brightness for me, so I could have easily been at 6 hours right now with 30% left, on auto I would get almost more than double the battery life of droid dna.

pretty sure it wasn't faked, but brightness could have been set low. Of course this thing will get better battery life, it has an extra 1100mah to play with. I do think the DNA is a better power conserving phone though. HTC is doing good things to get the battery life they are out of 2000mah.
The battery on this phone rocks tho. Samsung got it right by putting a big battery in it. Props to Samsung

I don't think its better, it gives me more than twice the screen on time of the dna, with 50% bigger batter capacity,, so note 2 is better in that regard..Loved the dna but I guess you can call me a heavy user.
This was with some video use and about 30 minutes of playing a game thrown in with regular texting and watching some Thursday night football on the NFL Mobile app. My GNex would have been dead within 4 hours!
Battery life is looking good so far.
The battery was about half full when I got it ... don't know what it was out of the box but it was on about an hour or so at the store while the rep ported my number. Once I got it home though, I messed with it probably a good 3 hours or so trying to get it set up, with LTE data, and I only dropped about 10%.
Seamed to get better as the day went on

After two days with my S5, I seem to not have found a way to get over a ridiculous battery drain. I'm only getting around 6 hours of use with ~2hr screen on. (Right now it's at 13% battery after 5hr 42min with 2hr 9min screen on). From what I can tell the primary culprit, as usual, is "Android System" which is using 24% of the battery as of right now. Thanks to KitKat, I can't use WLD to figure out what the drain is. Has anybody else had this issue?
I've tried calibrating the battery (drain to 0%, turn off, charge to full, etc), force stopping clear cache and data on Google Play Services/Play Store/Google+, turning off WiFi, location, etc... nothing seems to work.
Further, no matter how much I clear/end all apps and whether or not I use a downloaded app or the built in task manager, I cannot for the life of me get the RAM usage to go anywhere below 1.32Gb.
Note: Yes, I accidentally posted this in the General forum first, been a long day and clicked the wrong one, I've already requested that the admins delete the other post.
UPDATE: I think I might have narrowed it down to "AntService" under Android System, but I have no idea how to fix that...

I have had mine for only a day and YES, I notice a quick drain on the battery. No clue why
That's weird....I'm at 46% right now, 14hours 42min with 2hours 22min of screen time. I also don't have AntService. I did take the update yesterday it was for System Stabilization, I wonder if that has something to do with it as well.

I had taken the update too. I did a factory reset, uninstalled Lark (figured maybe it was hung looking for ANT+ devices), and did another deep charge/calibration. Unplugging now, we'll see.

Let us know what you find. I think it's probably something you installed though and not the phone. Mine lasted 3-4 hours on most of the time while I was playing with it/taking photos at full brightness from 60%. I updated it as well.
Full 5 hours 10 minutes of Screen Time and 17 hours turned on today, this playing and still setting stuff as I got it yesterday. My S4 before Kit Kat was giving me constantly 4 hours of screen time on same daily usage, with normal battery stats showing Screen wit 50% of usage and the other 50 well spread, after Kit Kat at most 3 hours, and the same issue with Android System been equal or some times even greater on usage than the screen.
But, so far I'm happy because even when I used it today a lot different than I use it in a normal day it still managed to gave me over 5 hours of screen time, that's great for me.

Solution herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721378
Just drained my battery completely (a full cycle of fully-charged to fully-empty).
With an average usage, about 80% running on Wifi (with wifi calling), about 30% screen on, two calls of total time of 30min, internet browsing, 3 gmail accounts pulling gmail regularly - Overall - 34.5 hours.
BTW, I love this new battery-charging animation when the device is off - a liquid green energy flowing from the USB into the battery, bubbling and filling up my battery - cool
EDIT: Full charge from 0 to 100% in about 2 hours. Device was shut down during the charging period.
I've gotten over 21 hours and 6 hours of screen time. You should try turning sync off, but it definitely sounds like one of the apps. I doubt your battery already has failed damaged. Also battery calibration is more of placebo effect, it doesn't do anything. When you fully charge your phone it does the same thing as those apps. Don't worry about Ram going under a certain number, unused ram is wasted RAM. Worst case scenario just factory reset start over.

Do you have leave WiFi on or have WiFi calling enabled? I have found my battery drain with the screen off and WiFi calling enabled be a bit less than 3% an hour. With WiFi disabled and my phone connected to 4g my battery drains at under 1% an hour. With the phone connected to 2g networks the drain decreases even further.
