Hello everybody
I'm looking for a way to set the default save folder in AOSP camera app 4.2 from DCIM/camera to DCIM/100MEDIA.
I used to had sense ROM and the HTC camera app save photos in DCIM/100MEDIA, currently i have 2 folders with photo that were taken from the phone camera.

Is there a way to remove the stock camera and gallery, and replace them with the camera and gallery that are in Cyanogen, or another light weight camera / gallery combo? I'm currently running Alien build 3, and hate this damn camera and gallery app. I've got roughly 900 photos split up across 10 or so folders, and the gallery doesn't sort based on folders. The camera app is bulky, takes up too much of the screen and makes it hard to use the screen as a viewfinder.
I don't know a way to change camera app. you have to keep stock gallery to access it from the camera app.
to get the CM gallery app, just extract it from a CM .zip and install it on your device. you can't use it from the camera app but you can for everything else.

easily! just use the app found here:https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cooliris.media&feature=search_result
Is there a way to reorder photos in the stock gallery app or to control how they are organized? The folder for the stock camera photos, and Roidizer which saves to that folder, organizes it self chronologically starting with the most recent. But for whatever reason the Pudding Camera and Retro Camera + folders organize reversed and it's kind of annoying.
Wanted to ask the community how they have the camera set up do you use default camera for the best results ? and what gallery app they use etc?
I use quickpic instead of gallery as you can choose the folders that appear so no more annoying album art in my gallery.
Yes quickpic is the best replacement for the gallery ;fast and quick for loading photos!
As for Camera apk, the best for recording video is probably LGCAMERA on the market and for taking photos I prefer Camera360.
I noticed that in the Gallery app, the pictures zoom in and out in "stages", thus making it look really like it's heavily lagging - and not like any other phone where zooming is very fluid. Any workaround to make zooming lag-free? Or perhaps there's a better Gallery-like app around in the Market?
quickpic in the market.
You can also get the gallery app that is used on virtually all other android phones on the market. Someone posted an apk for it on the themes and Apps section.

it's called 3d cool gallery ... it's the stock android gallery + some tweaks and sensor motion support...
do somebody know how to integrate that into camera apk ... I'm asking if there is a way to make the camera "call" another gallery apk not the stock one.cause even if you install alternatives ... they will not open directly after a shot but you will need to open the apk directly.very annoying

+1 for that!!! The camera app should ask first time what app you want to use when ticking the recent photos icon... but that is a work for developers (if they want to do it and have time of course!)
Greetings
After switching from LG E610 to the K Zoom, found that the stock Gallery app degenerated, leaving out a way to hide any folder from the application desktop.
Now I know there is a way to hide a file/folder by adding a dot in front of the name, but that removes the files from all app view. Quite simply, have a lot of unnecessary images that I don;t have a constant need to view and even more album covers.
Ironically, outdated LG had a perfectly working default app.
[Q] Is there a way to port it to K Zoom? (file attached)
