yes i have an extended battery but is from samsung (original), is that a problem?? i attached a pic with & without flash...without flash you can see at the middle of the picture the pink color..with flash all the picture is pink...btw you can see 2 little "holes", look better at the third bottle of the second picture, i don't know what are these...
Remove the back case and take a pic with flash.
That pink dot on the middle could be moist.

Does anyone have the Samsung word at boot look blurred? It's totally clear on my infuse.
It's like that on my Skyrocket as well. It starts out clear then blurs up but the desktop and everything else is normal.
Its supposed to be "glowing"
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
OK then. They should keep the glow, so I don't think I need stronger glasses!!
There are 3 splash screens:
1: Non-glowy samsung, this is displayed by the bootloader
2: Glowy samsung, this is displayed by the kernel
3: AT&T/Android boot animation, displayed by the bootanim service
Helps to identify where your development work is running into a wall depending which splash screen you make it to
Thanks Da_G for that info. Now I know there is a very good reason why I think I need new glasses now. Lol. Hopefully those distinctions will get custom roms up and running! Can't wait to void my warranty!!!

No thank you!! I think the original Note is big enough! Almost too big.
But at times it is great, at times not so great. I flip between a smaller phone at times.
When the phone boots, force yourself to look away. Its hard to do, but I know you can do it.
Need help
Yes this is in the wrong fourm but its hardware so it may help
@Mod please do excuse me
I just got my friends ray and it has a display problem
The thing is ; The display lights up but nothing can be seen on screen :/
After shaking it a bit it SOMETIMES shows the display
No cracks or anything on the display:O
Any fix ?
Im guessing its hardware but ill just use wotan server for a try
EDIT; Used wotan server flash .238 didnt work >_<
EDIT: Sometimes when I remove the battery when the screen goes dark and put it in again
And it works fine :O
But then it starts again :/
So its hardware for SURE 100%
Any fixes ?
Has he damaged it some way (dropping it?)?
If possible, use warranty, else open it yourself and seek for loose wires.
There aren't any visible signs :O
What i was thinking is Deliberately brick the phone during Software update and say it isnt starting
Should work

What if there is some sort of circuit shorting? If the problem is physical...u can check the battery terminals for any fault...or may be it is due to moisture...now don't think of me as a fool...its just my thought...so try some kind of drier to demoisturize...hope it fixes the problem if my assertion is correct.
Weird advice...isn't it?

If you picture are not focusing your camera could be failing. My wifes phone had the same problem occur. I flash stock to verify and performed a master clear. Called for a replacement. All is fine now. Just something to look for.

Hi all,
For starters I would like to apologize for not being able to post screen shots in my post but my post couldn't isn't high enough yet...
I installed the leaked version of 4.2.1 for the GT-I9300 SIII yesterday and noticed the appearance of a shadowy dark bar at the top of the home screen.
It's particularly apparent on the Jelly Bean "panoramic" view as it ends 3/4 of the way along the top of the screen.
The more you go in to the 4.2.1 been fling screen the darker the bar gets.
It's not always visible on the lock screen depending on the choice of
I have been looking around for a way to resolve this and have found some topics like this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716820
But nothing that has helped me to get rid of it.
Any help would be very much appreciated.......
PS I'm still quite new to this so please dumb it down a little (not too much don't be going thinking I'm an idiot ) so my tired brain can grasp what I'm supposed to do
I only noticed it on mine after changing the dpi...havent switched back to check if it was the case for sure tho.

Known issue with the leaked ROM. We've to live with it till another leak, at least. That's the fun of it.
It intensifies if you reboot your phone till it is a dark band. One way of 'resetting' it back to its initial shadow is to change the wallpaper and back to your wallpaper.
Those who understand that this is a leak, will not complain about the bugs. Good things are afoot. And the ride will be worth it, I reckon.

I found something...if you apply a live wallpaper and then your wallpaper, it seems to reset the dark shadow, if not eliminate it. I did this yesterday and the dark band does not seem to have intensified much after 24 hours, as it was wont to do earlier.
Interesting that the shadow does not show up in live wallpapers...

I suddenly have on my Samsung galaxy s3 screen a type of white lines shadow/reflection from the left side across to the right, it hazes up the screen a bit and don't know how to get rid of it. It looks a bit like white rays of the sun except that I am inside and there are no rays of sun light coming in.

I regularly clean my screen but ofcourse in daytime there are times it is dirty
I did not try to flash a different ROM but i am not sure if this is a hardware issue or software..
It seems hopeless because i saw other people experiencing same. Also there was a movie in You tube, a guy put a service report from SONY
saying that telephone is Ok no issue , but he was turning on the phone and as soon as phone booted it started ghost clicks..
Ah sony.. you used to be the symbol of quality for me once..

I had this problem too (like many others) when we were on 532, but it was fixed on 257. You could flash a AOSP ROM and see if it's still the same? If it's not, it's a software issue, and if it's still there, it's probably the hardware. My guess is it's a software issue.
You could try a CM ROM or the GPe. The latter is the most stable one and without bugs.

Not that its dirty, but it could be the coating on the screen thats starting to come off.

... then the options you have are to try different firmware, to see if its software... or take it in to where you bought it as it could be hardware.
Just my 2 cents, if cleaning the screen doesn't work and updating to 290 doesn't, if you have a third party keyboard disable it and return to stock then see if any change.

hello all again
I think i solved my issue. I found out another topic in another Xperia phone forum. That phone's users problem was undersensitive touch screen , so i did opposite of what they did
I went to /system/usr/idc but not modified the file max something.
I modified clearpad.idc file. The value touch.pressure.scale was 0.0075 something. I changed it to 1
now the touchscreen is less responsive and nearly no ghost clicks anymore.
Hope this helps anybody have this issue.
