[Q] Hardware menu and back keys not working - Custom Kernel - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi,
I have made a custom kernel for the Verizon Note 2. I used a stock ramdisk to make a boot.img, to flash using ODIN
Now, my back and menu key are not working anymore
I have CWM v6 and Suck-It-Verizon root installed. I tried updating my TouchKey FW, but the code *#2663# (or *#*#2663#*#*) are not working. I also tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032117 , but it did not help.
When I flash stock ROM or a rom from another developer, the keys work fine.
Can someone point out what I might be doing wrong? I am using t0uscc_04_defconfig to build the kernel code

[Q] Clockworkmod downgradable?

After having overheating issues (presumably voltage related?) with the official XWLP7 XEU (UK) ROM I decided to try my luck on a custom slim version.
Phone was successfully CF rooted before Dynamic v1.4 ★[ICS][Slim][Performance & Battery life][25April] was installed.
Custom ROM is running fine, however when I was playing around in the recovery menu the phone screen randomly displayed artifacts after selecting "reboot now". So I was wondering if it's possible to downgrade clockworkmod to the generic public release version - namely this puppy?
Thanks for reading my first post lol
I suspect CWM went retarded during the CF to Dynamic v1.4 transition - can someone provide some insight here? I've deduced kernels were changed, but was unaware of the implications to the recovery console in doing so
Functionality only becomes an issue in the recovery menu before OS loads otherwise everything is tight as a drum
Recovery is linked to the kernel. Obviously your kernel changed when you flashed that ROM. If you want to change your CWM recovery, flash a different kernel which has the version you want.
Ok, I've gone ahead and been an inpatient muppet installing ROM manager from Google play and flashed the respective recovery console. Will this cause conflicts? It seems the original one still stands using the the three button combo when powering up where as the generic recovery console I just put on has to be executed via OS.
no issues keeping both if working perfectly....
Normaly there is a mismatch seen between ROM manager and other custom recoveries..
if you are rebooting from ROM manager to CWM if the update package flashes smoothly and flashed CWM is appears then no issue you can use it. i think its only flashes temporerly,
when you use the 3 combo you can get the recovery which is incorporated with your kernel....we only need a working CWM to flash zips, and backup,

Returning to Stock without Touchscreen

After updating my ROM recently the touchscreen gave out - nothing I can do will get it working - I have flashed back to stock everything however my ROM count in download mode is through the roof so a warranty repair would most likely be denied - how can i reset the count without being able to use the touchscreen?
triangle away is not possible as I cant install any apps - so any ideas?
Did you install the correct stock ROM
Were you trying a custom ROM and how did you revert back to stock? If you are able to boot to download mode using key combination, can try flashing the correct firmware from sammobile. Also can try flashing the clockworkmod recovery (CFRoot), get to recovery and then install a cyanogenmod rom. If your touch screen works with any of these options, then try resetting the counter.
I have tried a million different roms from sammobile - the phone was originally from vodafone UK so have tried
I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB
I9300XXBLG8_I9300OXABLG8_I9300XXLH1
I9300XXBLG8_I9300OXABLG8_I9300XXLG8
and
I9300XXDLIH_I9300VFGDLJ1_I9300BUDLI2
all using ODIN
I was coming from Foxhound 1.3 with Siyrah Kernal - tried doing back to that with CFroot and as well but no joy - have no touchscreen in Aroma installer either

Stock ROM but with modded kernel

I have installed CPU analyser, and with stock ROM I think the slowest it goes is 300mhz, WIth a modded ROM it slows down to 110mhz. So I'd like to use modded kernel with stock ROM (I've found no ROM's to be as quick or stable as stock)
Is it possible to have stock LK1 firmware, but with rafa's modded kernel? My procedure is
1) Recover LD1 firmware with ODIN
2) Reboot update LK1 in KIES
3) add super user. Boots, make calls etc
4) Apply kernel and modules. Boot and lost IEMI. I have tried restoring IEMI from my backup in galaxy toolbox, rebooted. But it still doesn't work.
Am I doing something wrong, or does the stock ROM not support modded kernel/modules in anyway?
Also if I do get it working, do I need some kind of CPU/battery saver or are the routines built into the kernel, no other apps are needed? I tried one app, it seems to work but it keeps on popping up with a message that it's using superuser priv, so it's quite annoying.
flash modules of kernel after flashing the kernel without rebooting in between!
this way u won't loose imei!!
whenever superuser permission message come up, there's an option below to remember the choice, click it and then message won't appear again!
ah so flash kernel, then modules without rebooting? I'm pretty sure a couple of guides say flash kernel, reboot (go straight back into recovery) then flash modules.
which specific (filename) kernel and modules to use with stock LK1 ROM?
201303051129-E3-boot.img
and
201303051129-modules
did that, emergency calls only! arggh
Try flashing modules after reboot.. Flashing modules should solve imei problem!

[Q] Galaxy Beam i8530 help

Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone could help me with installing Multi CSC as well as a custom recovery on my i8530.
I've looked at TWRP (teamWin) and Clockwork but they don't seem to have a working recovery for i8530.
For Multi CSC I tried CSC_GT-I8530-MULTI-CSC-OLBLE7_SEC_KEY_8G.tar.md5 but when I tried flashing with Odin, it always hangs around initialisation step.
My final goal is to be able to get Google Apps on a Chinese (CHN CSC) i8530. The main problem is that if I simply root and flash a custom/other ROM except the stock CHN ROM, I lose baseband and IMEI. Making a backup of EFS folder and then putting it back doesn't help.
Right now I'm down to two solutions:
- install custom recovery and flash a signed zip of Google Apps: problem is I don't have a working custom recovery for i8530 and the Android base recovery won't flash Google Apps
- trying to change CSC
Can anyone help? Thanks!

Stock kernel for MM 575?

Hi,
I flashed a rom and several other files to update my xperia Z2 to the latest stock version (575). However, I didn't realize that my phone had the bootloader locked and I mistakenly flashed a custom kernel (abricot kernel). Now, my phone won't boot. When I press the switch it vibrates and does nothing. I am guessing it's because of the kernel.
Now, the "hopeful" news is that I can access fastboot mode, therefore I was considering two options:
1) flash the stock kernel image (however, I don't know where to get it from)
2) unlock the bootloader (I need to find out how to do it).
Do any of you know where to get the stock kernel from?
I'm open to any other third option you may think could help me unbrick my phone.
Thanks in advance
What about flash again stock firmware with Flashtool, but mark options Wipe data and cache?
>>Flash the same .575 stock ftf without wiping the data through flashtool.
>>Everything will be okay.
