[Urgent] Suddenly Rebooted! Now stuck at lockscreen! - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm just a noob. I didn't root. Didn't unlock my bootloader! I use 4.5.141 (upgraded via OTA) Now having an weird problem! It was all okay! I was playing vector. But suddenly my launcher crashed & the phone got restarted! It took a lot of time to pass the at&t logo. I use holo locker. It comes alright. But I also use pattern unlock! But I cannot pass the lock screen because the touch is not working there!
That means in holo locker, the touchscreen is working! But after that, Motorola's own default lock doesn't work! It doesn't recognize my touch! Besides, after 20/30 seconds, the screen turns off & it doesn't open again by the on/off button. I've to remove battery & insert it again & boot from the beginning! Don't know what happened!!! :'(
Help please? :'(

I'm just curious, could you try to leave your phone without the baterry cover and see if the touch works? it happened to me once and I had to send it to a repair...
you could also try to change the rom to make sure it isn't hardware related.

Try this méthode :
1/ Reboot phone (remove battery for ex)
2/ Hold volume down during boot
3/ You start Android in secure mode (no more apps and widget are start‚ then you can read ’secure mode’ on bottom of screen)
Now try to use phone to see if something's wrong...

[Q] lg optimus one home/airplane/silent/lock functions gone

Hello I dont know if this question respects only the LG O1 but I am gonna start from here.
I had my phone on my desk and suddenly I found out that
the lock screen is gone (when I press the lock button the screen just turns off)
the home button was not working - responding alone
the airplane and silent mode were gone only power off selection existed when I had the lock button pressed
and all my calls were automatically reset.
I tried to reboot and remove the buttery and/or SIM but no luck. I dont want to factory reset at all is there anything I can do throw the ADB shell. Any place were I can look at
I am experiencing the exact same problem since late last night. In addition the Home button and Search button do not work (when pressed they illuminate the screen - since there is no lock anymore) however do not carry the intended function (of returning to home menu or searching).
Can someone please help! I have already sent 2 random (and one embarrassing ) SMS to people on my contact list.
I know one easy way so READ CAREFULLY
1: find and install "Power Control Plus" widget from market.
2: Add Lock on/off widget to background and disable.
It's that easy
So this is just for the lock I will see something about other stuff u said.
Thanks ljubisa_sk
Unfortunately the widget does not lock the screen - actually it has no effect nether this, nor other 'screen locker' apps in the market
My phone is branded and locked to Three Ireland (H3G).
Does anyone know whether there was some sort of OTA update rolled out automatically or something similar?
I know this is old and the issue still remains.
However, what I have seen now is that when I put the phone on airplane mode, the screen lock appears and I can slide to unlock.
As soon as the airplane mode is off, I get back to the same symptoms.
Can anyone help please??? I am really getting annoyed with my phone.

but the phone is 2 months old only - I'd rather not void the warranty.
I was hoping for a solution here as I'm not in Ireland anymore to send it to the Three store.
Better void warranty, lg os is the most crappy thing I've experienced.after first inversion of void Rom I was stunned by it's speed and with the touchscreen fix you will experience new powers of this cheap phone.I've voided my warranty in the first month . Good luck.

Touchscreen not Responding on Lockscreen

Hello friends.
I just got my Motorolla Atrix 4G and im not abble to unlock it on the unlock screen, the touch just dont works at all there, even the capacitive buttons below not responding. The first day I managed to unlock it somehow after removing the battery, after that the unlock screen was working fine even when I lock the phone so I tough the problem was over and stated to install some basic apps. Like 2 days later the problem was back and now not even removing battery was working, sometimes I get to unlock it but now thats less and less posible. I read that installing an optional unlock screen could do the trick so I installed "Widget Locker" and worked some hours, then the same thing even the Widget Locker unlock screen dosnt respond. Its weird because once I manage to unlock it the touch works perfectly at all so that makes me think its a software/system problem.
Currently I cant unlock it at all, not even removing battery or anything.
The phone its used, I was thinking to bring it to a tech center on here and try root and installing a custom rom?
Thanks in advance for your help guys.
Bump...
Just to add... tried hard reset and didnt worked =/
¿Any sugestion? ¿Should I try an screen change?
Thanks.

Does the problem occur when you move the phone into a vertical position (moving the lock screen)?
Try turning the screen off/on by using the power button (but don't turn the phone off) ... does this help?
When you installed a custom rom did you do a full system wipe? (goto 'mounts/storage' and format pre-install, data, system, osh, cache) before
installing rom.
Hello barry, thanks for the answer.
Yes, the problem occours in both horizontal and vertical positions.
If I press the power button the power off dialog appears on screen and im unable to touch the options, holding the power button dont turn the phone off so im forced to remove the battery to turn it off.
I havent installed a custom rom yet. Thats the next step ill be covering. I toke the phone to a tech center place and asked them to install a custom rom (since I cant persoanlly do the root and flash rom proces) They just told me that it didnt fixed it, but when i turn it on i saw the same Moto Blur interface wich make me think they didnt changed the rom at all...
Sadly when puting a SIM and starting the phone the Motorolla interface screen appeared, but... touch wasnt working there neither wich now starts to make me think it is a hardware problem after all... Im not sure anymore and dont know what to do now
Sorry for the long answer and the bad english.
sounds like your digitizer might need replaced, based off of what I read. just out of curiousity, what android version is it?
Stock Android Gingerbread 2.3 with Moto Blur UI
Digitizer? Not Screen then?
EDIT: Ohh nvm, Digitizer = Touchscreen right?

Yes. Don't confuse the two, the screen has nothing to do with the digitizer, other than one being on top of the other physically.

[Q] Xperia Ray Won't Turn On or Do Anything Else

Hi, so sorry for the vague thread title, but really, there's no other way to describe it. So here's what happened.
For the past few weeks (or month), my Xperia Ray has had a problem of switching on after it was put into standby mode, i.e. after i pressed the lock button. The screen would light up, however would remain blank. So all I would get is a bright black screen.
I could have lived with this for a few more months (until Xperia Z gets released in my country D: ) however this problem started getting worse. At first, after pressing the home button, the volume rockers and/or the lock button for about 20 times, the screen would turn on (finally). Despite it giving me that bright black screen, i could still operate the screen. I could still try to unlock it because of the haptic feedback on my lockscreen. I could still change music tracks on my music widget on my lockscreen. In short, the screen worked perfectly, only that it kinda wouldn't show. However, for the past week, the only way to turn it back on would be to do a battery pull and switch on the phone again. And it recently developed a problem of giving me that bright black screen again when I switch it on, causing me to do about 5 battery pulls before being able to actually use my phone again.
I did get fed up with this problem, being a heavy user of my phone. Therefore, today I decided to try to do a factory reset of my phone, intending to wipe the dalvik cache + clear all user data, thinking it might help my bright black screen problem. However, I found that I couldn't boot into recovery because all my phone would do was to give me that bright black screen again! So after many battery pulls, I managed to boot up my phone normally and do a factory reset under the backup & restore tab in settings. Of course, the phone tried to reboot itself, but of course, just gave me the bright black screen.
I kinda gave up at this point, and did many battery pulls and boots, however, all I got was either
1. the terrible bright black screen
or less frequently
2. the free xperia project logo then the terrible bright black screen.
I did get very fed up, so I plugged it into a wall socket to charge it. However, since about an hour or two ago, I realised it may be on bootloop. When I plug it into a wall socket, the free xperia project logo shows up and then an even brighter black screen shows up for about 3-5 minutes, then those two repeat endlessly. The notification light doesn't show that it's charging at all.
Okay here's background info on my phone.
- Is rooted
- Bootloader is unlocked
- CM 9.1 is installed
- Was running GO Launcher (if that helps)
- had a custom boot animation
- I think i deleted an apk for the google start up configuration thing...the one that asks if you have any google accounts you want to connect when you switch on your phone for the first time. I'll search up the correct apk name if you need it.
- Is about a year old (got it last early April)
- is a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (in case you didn't notice haha)
- battery level was about 20%+ when I did a factory reset (terrible of me I know)
- I have tried to caliberate the battery a few months ago
That's all the background info I can think you need. Please do let me know if you need any other info. If you need the logcat text of what happens when I hit the lock button at the top of my phone and the phone gives me the bright black screen (the early stages of this problem), let me know and I'll dig it up. I think I've bricked it, but I can't boot it into recovery so I can't do anything. And I did all I could google for the bright black screen problem which I won't tire you by specifying here. Please do help me. It seems as if the worst of evils has befallen my phone. Now I'm stuck here with my phone crazily on bootloop beside me. Please please do help.
Flash stock rom
Just try flashing a stock rom with Flashtool. If the problem persists, then it could be a hardware problem. Flashing a stock ftf takes care of all software issues. Get the stock ics FTF file and place it in firmwares folder of flashtool. Start flashtool and select flash mode. Then choose your ftf and press ok. Then wait until it prompts you to connect your phone. Then, just turn off your phone, while holding the power button down attach the USB cable. The LED notification should turn green and wait until it finishes flashing.
flash extended stock kernel and then the stock ftf firmware file...
hit thanks if i helped u

Hi, if your phone can still be switched on and hasn't progressed so far in being destroyed, you could try downloading the Disable Auto Brightness app for Xperia phones from the Play Store. I've read somewhere that the screen might not turn on because of the auto brightness. I'm not sure if it actually helps, but perhaps my phone would have died faster without it. I've read of people changing their battery, doing battery calibrations or changing their screen to fix the problem. But before you change the hardware, I suggest that you check the hardware first. If the Disable Auto Brightness doesn't work, do a Nandroid backup and store the backup somewhere safe. Then flash the stock firmware to your phone and try to get it to switch on. Do flash the firmware before your phone runs out of battery because you never know, your phone may decide to refuse to charge your battery anytime. Then try to switch it on. If your phone goes into a bootloop (like mine now) really consider getting a new phone or sending it for repair or try all day to fix it if you use your phone alot. I'm still trying to fix mine.
I flashed the original firmware for my phone, tried to turn it on, was very happy when I saw the original Xperia logo, but then I realised it was on bootloop. When I tried to charge it, it immediately turns on and goes into bootloop again. Logcat doesn't detect my phone, so I can't obtain the logcat of what's happening. I haven't tried to replace the battery of my phone because I couldn't find a supplier. But I'll go on trying to fix my phone until the day that it really breaks down. Good luck with yours and keep us posted.

[Q] Samsung Note 3 Lollipop Issues (Sprint Stock Build)

So i was just forced to install Lollipop by Sprint. I was having a minor S-Pen issues and Sprints "FIX" was to update me to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Well now I have 500000000 other issue with my phone. Most i can live with, but there are 2 in particular that at driving me absolutely bonkers and I cant fix. I was hoping someone around here would have an idea how to fix it without me having to root, and go back to the previous OS. (The Sprint Root seems a little intimidating and I cant afford to brink my phone even for 20 minutes).
The main issues I am having are regarding the lock screen. I cant get the lock screen to stay open more then 3 or 4 seconds and if I botch my pattern or don't swipe fast enough, the screen will turn itself off. Then I have to turn the screen back on and try and unlock it again. Sometimes the screen even turns off in the middle of trying to unlock it. It is EXTREMELY annoying having to try and unlock my phone 4 or 5 times just to get to the notification screen ...... As for the Notification screen, once i finally am able to get my phone unlocked, then when i try and swipe my notification bar the phone will sometimes turn the screen off as well, then I have to go BACK to trying to unlock the phone and try and do everything faster then 2 jack rabbits banging in order to just get to my notifications. Its become a major problem in that sometimes I just cant get the sequence and speed right for 10 or 15 tries.
Anyone else having these issues or have a fix???

I can't say I had any problems like this. I was running Stock rooted OC5 for a while and had really no problems with it. I didn't have any pattern or pin unlock though, so maybe it would have been different? I would have stayed stock but my Flashaholic took hold and made to start trying out other ROMs.
As for rooting, I have found it very easy to root this phone. I haven't had a problem either using auto-root or flashing superSU.

before a factory reset, you might try doing a wipe of the cache partition.
turn your phone off
press and hold, Volume up + home key + power until you see the blue booting to recovery mode message
wait for recovery mode to display (the menu will show after the green robot)
use the volume rocker to move down to wipe cache partition and press the power button to select it.
now select the yes line and press power
now reboot your phone and see if that helps with the lock screen behavior
good luck
