Recently the Sony walkman app has stopped adding new media to the music folder it just doesn't seem to pick them up anymore,
I've tried wiping the cache as mentioned in previous posts and removing the app and installing again all of which has made no difference. Any ideas would be appreciated and my phone is rooted and running a custom Rom/Kernel.

Copy all songs from your phone to your pc.
Reboot your phone.
Connect your phone to pc in MTP.
Copy all songs to your phone.
Is there any other possible ways or is that the only solution?

I don't know any other way to solve this.Try that.It will surely work.

Have you tried updating it? My only problem it the lockscreen. Half the screen has the touch controls and half of the album art. The other half if just black.

i have tried updating it ,,i wonder if i delete the apk from the rom in the download folder would it mess things up ?

It won't mess up anything, its not a system app, but sure, try that. Delete it, delete cache and redownload it

I only noticed this issue recently, not sure when it started.
Last time when wanted to copy stuff from my Xperia S to my PC, I could easily do it.
Now, some files seem to be invisible to me on my PC. I've even tried setting the option to "Show hidden files and folders" but nothing works.
I copy a folder (located on the phone) containing items, audio files, pictures and XML files to a common folder for easy access on my PC(Also located on my phone Internal Storage, using Astro). On Astro, I've checked and verified that the items are there.
However, when I open it on my PC, I only see some files, not all.
Worse still, even though I can only see some files and attempt to copy the whole folder to my PC, I end up copying an empty folder.
This has never happened to me before. (On the .452 ICS firmware anyways)
Sometimes, I can't even see anything in the folder.
Could it be the new 6.1.A.2.45 update or a custom kernel I installed?
Phone Details
Stock 6.1.A.2.45 FW(Updated with SUS) rooted with Advanced ICS stock kernel, followed by another flash of Xperia SSpeed kernel for OC.
Search for the mass storage mode addon
I get the same problem from time to time and found an unplug and re-plug back into the PC helped.

Just another question, the add-on is it found on the play store or from elsewhere?
Can't seem to find anything that matches it on the play store.

i am using CM10(20120926), and for some time i am having a problem with this process working all the time hogging cpu.
i've tried removing it from startup, but i guess that another system service runs it.
i've also tried to update to the latest version(20121014) but it also didn't help.
i've tried the .nomedia files trick and also removing the external SDcard but it doesn't help.
please help.

had to change to super nexus rom, since then it is smooth sailing but all the extras of CM are gone

I have same problem on my i9100 with CM9.1
hello!
i got an lg optimus 4x hd which has worked pretty fine along with the ICS 4.0.3.
A few days ago I noticed that suddenly, I were not longer able to install aps from "unknown sources". the box is checked in settings, but there is no way to install external software.
i can tell you which apps are running in background (because i ve read that intelliscreen-app has been reported to cause this error, too):
-settings
-k9-mail
-setcpu
-handcent sms
-taschenlampe
-temp+cpuv2
-business calendar
-lux
-dropbox
-mail
-greenpower premium
-software update (LG)
-google services
-wetter
-swift key 3
and none of them has changed in the last few days, i have deleted every single new app I had installed before.
does anyone know more?

Are you rooted? Doing a fresh install with wipe of your ROM should fix it.

Yes i m rooted, but that s what i absolutely want to avoid, resetting and wiping the phone.
There must be other ways...

I do it all the time.. plus it is probably the only thing that can fix your issue,

okay, i see. i used to do it, too, but in the past everytime I restored my saves from backup-application, it used to reinstall also the bad apps and program errors.
is there a way to do a soft reset, just factory reset without deleting anything important? would it help?

No, your better off if you don't even backup the apps. Doing a fresh install on everything is better.

Hi guys, i searched the forum before making this thread so hopefully im not spamming like an idiot, heres the deal:
I recently switched to Cyanogenmod 10.1 from Stock ICS Rom on Amaze 4g, before switching i was able to see both my internal and external sd cards when i plugged the phone to windows, they would show as "Htc Storage" and "External Disk", however after i installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 whenever i plug in my phone i only get "Disk F" and its only the internal storage, i can still access my SD card from within the phone itself and i actually store there pictures and music and stuff, but if i try to connect to the pc to download the pictures from the camera im unable to, it just wont show up.
I tried turning usb debugging off, back on, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and i still cant seem to get it to work on windows, i tried this in two different pcs with both windows 7 and 8.
Its not a life or death situation but its certainly annoying, so any help would be greatly apreciated.

Backup your internal memory and run a ruu it'll solve your problem

1st try flashing a stock rom it'll help as well no need for ruu

You basically just download a ruu and run it in bootloader. You also have to out it on the root of the sd card (not in folders). And also name it to PH85IMG.
That's what I remember I'm not an expert on ruus.

Applies only if your s off or else download the correct ruu according to the cid number

I think he should use other Rom for this Bcoz according to my knowledge cynogenmod doesn't support two SD card mountind
Bcoz they made is as a standard.
But RUU is the best way I think.

I fixed the SD card issue using MTP like he said, now my only problem is the broken video recording on cyanogenmod 10.1, has anyone found a fix for it? I tried searching the forum once again but i could not find one, i even tried flashing the 4.3 camera app and still, video recording is a no go.

system settings > storage > menu button > usb computer connecttion > check MTP
Both cards will show up under Portable Devices in windows.
