Hi guys.I'm using stock JB rom 2.20.401.5. Few days ago I found an unfixable issue which is concerned with Internet app (not Chrome, but stock browser). Every time I try to synchronize google account to update contacts (and other info as well) i get a synchronization error while synchronizing 'Internet". Chrome works well, but i don't like it. Also two step authentication is disabled in google account (It's not working neither when it's turned on, nor when it's turned off). Hope smb knows how to solve this issue.
Up, problem still not solved

Hi,
I am searching for an app that syncs google bookmarks and honeycomp stock browser bookmarks.
Any ideas?
In past i used an app that is called bookmarks to sd. But this is an plugin for dolphin browser and requires dolphin.
It's built into the Tab's settings but at the moment it doesn't appear to be working correctly. Otherwise you could look for Xmarks in the Market but I don't think it's free.

It is weird because it was working great on the Xoom, but when I switched to the Tab only my bookmarks from the 'Other bookmarks' folder in Chrome are syncing. Maybe it was a bug from the Samsung tweaks of Honeycomb

Not working for me either but I am not 100% stock. Is this working for anyone?
Definetly a samsung issue my asus tf worked a charm with bookmarks instantly synced however this device downloaded the lot over night and now only four are showing

Worked fine for me, through several resets, and two different Tab 10.1's this week.
Takes awhile to sync though, it'll show empty for almost an hour, sometimes.
My Chrome bookmarks were synced fine before the latest major update (not the 3MB, the 180MB). But now I have no bookmarks, even though Browser says it's set to sync with Chrome and my Google account. Another thread says that the 3MB is supposed to fix the sync issue, and but the update isn't available to me as of yet.

It doesn't work on my Tab 10.1 either. I still can't work it out.
also non functional here
I thought mine wasn't working either but after about 3 days of waiting all bookmarks had been synced. Then I read in another forum that samsung had throttled the bandwidth for syncs its incredibly slow!

OMG!!!
3days? Unbelievable
Unhappy with Samsung's stock ICS version, I moved on to a CyanogenMod9 nightly build for my SGS2 - an admittedly risky thing to do on April 1st - which proves fantastically stable and fast.
However, when I installed the Facebook app (painstakingly: I'm in China), I found that the option to sync and merge contacts is gone. From the app, but also from the Accounts and Sync option in Android's settings. It still says "Facebook" under the accounts that I can add, but nothing happens when tapped.
I wiped and re-installed everything, but to no avail. The setting is no longer there and I cannot sync my Facebook contact details with my existing contact list.
Any ideas what I can do about this?
Having the same issue, with the Galaxy S2 on a nightly 9
Facebook must update their API.

so it's a matter of waiting? Is this a new thing in Android 4.04 or does it relate to cm9?
Stumbled here after noticing the same thing on my Photon with Jokersax CM9 Kang (Android 4.0.4) installed. As its my first Photon custom ROM I can't say its a CM9 thing or a 4.0.4 thing.
It does work ok on my Epic 4G Touch with Samsung FC24 leak which is 4.0.3 and NOT CM9.
I'm on 4.0.4 (CM9) and it is not working for me either. The only workaround I know of is using the app "HaxSync," which syncs the contacts for you.

This option was removed from android AOSP by default due to Google not agreeing with FB privacy policy. The only way is to use an app to do it. It is not a Samsung ICS issue it is an Android AOSP thing.
Not sure if that is true since it is still working on AOKP's last buid (4.0.4)

See AOKP is not pure AOSP.
Here is a link that began talking about this way back on 2.3.3

yeah - it's a Facebook v Google thing, not a software fault.
Friendcaster fixes it for you.
Is there any more info on this issue? Or is it never going to be resolved due to Google / Facebook differences. Find it amusing that Google have problems with Facebook's privacy given ether recent changes Google have made
Ah
Had the same problem. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it. It doesn't care for restores from backups evidently.

Been having similar problems on Jellybean for HTC DESIRE HD. Thanks for the tip. Friendcaster, indeed, does fix the problem and is quite a nice FB app in its own right!
This one works fine on ICS and JB. You can choose pic sizes up to 720x720.
does this Friendcaster application syncs numbers ? or just photos ?
You can always use a modified ContactsProvider.apk to allow facebook sync.

That's normal when You don't use stock based ROM.
Just download app called SYNC.ME from market or use app "contactive".
Just got my Samsung Galaxy S3 from AT&T. Still have the stock android from AT&T running it (ICS. Version 4.0.4). I choose to use the mobile browser version of facebook as the app itself is very slow and buggy in my previous experience. But whenever I click on likes and comments on a post in facebook to see the details, the browser freezes in android. It says "Internet is not responding. Would you like to close it?". I have cleared all cache, rebooted, cleared all cookies, history etc. But it keeps doing this. Interestingly no other website has given me issues ranging from flash rich sites to simple yahoo mail mobile website. Also I never had this problem with the Galaxy S1, my last phone. To reclarify, there is no problem with facebook on main pages like news feeds or my page. But the freezing occurs when you click on comments or likes icon to see the details.
Can anyone help with above or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
thanks,
K

Thanks for the response. No I haven't. But I am still puzzled. Why it would just not work fine in my stock android browser?
By the way how did you manage to get the desktop version of facebook running. Everytime I try that, it automatically goes to mobile version.
I will try the Chrome. I suppose I have to install it. Would it create a conflict with the stock android?

I have the exact same problem. I thought it was because I rooted it. I guess an update will fix it eventually. Also, it seems to only be Facebook, so maybe the site is doing it.
Solution
So I finally resolved the problem. I have stopped using the android stock browser and installed the Chrome app. It is working like a charm and no more error messages. I don't miss the stock browser at all and in some ways, Chrome is giving a much better experience.
I've been flashing ROMs built on the latest code for Jelly Bean (4.1.1). (The phone is the Galaxy Nexus LTE.)
The battery has been draining fast and upon checking with OS Monitor, I learned that a bunch of android.process.acore processes, sometimes alone and sometimes with another, have been registering high CPU loads continuously until they run the battery down. They are Contacts Storage, User Dictionary, and DRM Protected Content Storage. (DRM is probably not an acore service but it is making trouble just the same.)
I tried winnowing down the problem by deleting the contact store data and resyncing while de-activating third party syncers like HacSync. I even tried cleaning up the contacts via Google on the web. The contacts number only a few hundred. Again, the processes up claiming huge load after the initial sync period.
I scoured the web for reports but have only found mentions dating back to Gingerbread or ICS involving Facebook. Facebook sync doesn't work with JB and again, I have disabled HaxSync.
I also froze User Dictionary with Titanium Backup but that did nothing to keep the process from running, even after a reboot.
Any ideas?
SOLUTION
I figured it out. Unchecking the sync contacts in the Google+ client fixed the problem.
Im just going out on a limb here but have you flashed a different kernel?

Weapondrift, yes I have. IIRC I flashed to Franco kernel with each ROM. Do you think it is a kernel problem?
I posted this in another forum, and no response. Hoping someone can help. Perhaps I missed an FAQ somewhere.
I searched and found the "sync is currently experiencing problems it will be back shortly" problem that others are experiencing, but most of the issues seem to be with the contacts. My problem is with the internet sync. See screenshot. Here's what I've tried:
- Searched this forum and Google
- Cleared the stock internet browser data / cache
- Factory reset on previous ROM and tried again
- Flashed another ROM (after full wipe)
- Since I use 2-step authentication, I tried disabling and re-logging in
None of those things worked. Everything is syncing fine except internet. I love the feature, but it is not a showstopper for me. It is important to understand the problem is in the Accounts & sync settings only, so swapping the browser shouldn't make a difference. {Edit: switching to Chrome browser didn't make a difference)
I am on ViperRez 1.0.3, stock browser. Previously, I was on Nils' Business ICS 4.0.3 Sense 3.6 which had the Google Now installed on it. The problem started when the Google Now servers wet down a few days ago. Since then I've had this internet sync problem. Not sure if that is related.
Is there anything I can reset? Any other suggestions? Any more information I should provide?

GOOGLE. and all it side add ons have alot of people and accts.. at any particular time a server can be experiencing maxamim capacity as im sure most of us has seen this happen on face book and good OLD myspace as well. its usually momentary but can last for days.. i get it alot for my email sync but im constantly syncing things.. my contacts too cuz i resync them everyfew days to make sure everythings in google and not just my phone.. hopefully youll see it come back soon.
Thanks, I've been waiting a week but I'll hang on and wait some more. Like I said, not a huge deal but it would be nice again to have that feature.
Have you tried turning that sync off and then back on?
Yes, I try that once a day. Happened on a freshly flashed rom. Just strange.
