Title pretty much says it all. . . i replaced the glass on my S3, now the two touch buttons at the bottom do not work. . . suggestions?
Take it apart and try again, make sure the connections are completely home and try testing before you reassemble.

Like it was said before, your touchscreen is busted ... in my case, i've change my lcd and touchscreen with one bought on ebay. But before to change your lcd, you can try to align your screen with your finger, not with your stylus.
Just put an empty welcome.not file in your SD card.
It should bypass the alignment screen.
If it doesn't, then do one alignment run,hit the power button, and turn it back on. It should work then.
Beware, though, that the screen will be unaligned. Manage to get to the alignment again, and repeat the process (hitting power button thing). Then it'll be aligned correctly (at least in my case it does...)
As Huefu posted the touchpad is dead my friend. There is another topic about the touchscreen being dead that I have posted on. You can buy one on ebay but beware there are two different screen types. So dismantle first to check the connectors on the back of your screen to make sure you get the right replacement.
Your looking around £30 and some patience. It's tricky to take the phone apart and reassemble. You can google for the XDA/MDA service manual, this will show you how to take it apart
Good luck
2 Years Ago i´ve got the Same Problem....I opened my Himalaya
and there was a bigger Piece of Tobacco (I´m Rolling my Cicarettes by myself)between the Screen and the Housing- you couldn´t see it from Outside.
...for my case this was the solution !
and this Year my Himalaya is getting 5 Years old
I would try this first before Buying a new Screen
...but ...as honosuseri mentionened before
There different Models with different Connectors
(i think 2 or 3 different Connectors)
watch out ! DOOD!
Hey guys. I've got an interesting case . Few days ago I was going to work and it started raining suddenly and my Samsung Vibrant got wet. I removed battery immediately and dried for 3 days and started my phone but the screen was blurry.
So I went to a local mobile repair service and they said we don't have screen for Samsung Vibrant but they have screen for Samsung Galaxy S I9000 (the one with the button ).
So I told'em to change it. Now my Vibrant got the look i9000. I attached the photo. I9000 screen on Vibrant. But the only problem is everything's working nice except home button is not working. I9000 got a big middle button but it's not working. Options and Back buttons are okay.
Is it possible to make I9000 home button to work on Vibrant?
they changed the actual screen under the glass aswell ??
why didnt they just put the vibrant glass back
They changed everything except the main chip thing.
the vibrant and i9000 screens are exactly the same, both 4 inch super amoled so dont see why they didnt just put the vibrant glass back on
they only had to unscrew the screen from the bracket and put the new screen back in i think, if there wasnt anything wrong with your glass that made them have to change it aswell
but im going to guess at no because its a hard key and it was a soft key before so they wont be anything on the board underneath to push down when you push the hard key, if thats how it works
if thats not how it works then maybe there is a way
So my HTC Desire Z, running CM7, has recently started acting up. There is a certain spot on my touch screen that, at random times, will act as if it's been touched. In GO SMS PRO, this occasionally lines up with a message, so I can see it press, pause, press, pause, etc. It's really annoying and screws up my usage of the phone. If I turn the screen off and then on again, it'll usually go away for a bit.
I've tried googling this issue but it's a touchy thing to phrase. (hehe, "touchy", I didn't even mean to do that!)
Does anybody know how I can find out what is causing this and/or how to fix it?
tl;dr: touch screen is "pressing" a specific spot at random

Its not rocket science is it bro ......... i figure you already can see the writing on the wall ...... sounds like your digitiser is on its way out. Quite a common issue on HTC's the capacitive touch screens just wear out.
My advice is backup, do a factory reset. see if problem persists, if so maybe try a different ROM (just for the sake of testing) see if problem persists.
If so you know its a hardware fault.
The good news is its really pretty easy to replace a digitiser in a Desire Z, I bought my own Desire Z 2nd hand with a dodgy digitiser (for about half its 2nd hand value) and replaced the digitiser in about 3 hours (that was going very slowly and being very careful)
Here is a link to the disassembly guides i used

Desire Z is one of the easiest phones i have ever worked on HTC obviously designed it to be repairable, almost everything is held by screws. So you don't have to 'unclip' loads of weak plastic crap.
All you need is to take it sloooooooowly and NEVER use much force, better to take an hour to do a job that should take 10mins than to rush or get impatient and break sh*t.
Good luck

Update: So the "pressing" isn't really happening any more, but now there's a dead area that takes up an entire horizontal portion of the screen. I tested it out using a TouchTest app (picture 1) and the cut shows the dead portion. However, I tried it again later, and the dead portion moved up! I'm very confused, haha
Hi guys, I have been having an issue with my i9305 where a touch point seems to stick and my phone won't respond properly to other touch Input, sometimes looks like it's having a bit of a fit, it's as if I'm holding a finger down on one point. I have broken the screen a couple of times and replaced it but most of the time it works flawlessly, it seems a lot like a software or driver issue, happens exactly the same across all roms, long pressing seems to set it off the most, stays stuck unti I Switch my screen off and on and unlock it's fine again, can happen every few seconds or might not happen all day, any thoughts?
You say you have broken and replaced your screen twice, which is very unusual, so are you sure you didn't drop your phone since the last screen replacement? Also, did you take the phone to an authorised service center or did you replace the screen yourself, with parts that you acquired? Maybe you have a faulty screen that needs replacement once again.

The screen has been cracked slightly in my pocket twice, only ever a crack, not smashed or anything, don't know what happened the first time but the second time I tried to pick something up and it leaned against my phone in my pocket and cracked the screen, I have replaced the glass myself twice, only light heat and gentle separation, replaced with glass and adhesive membrane like original, the digitiser seems completely untouched. It probably is something to do with the digitiser or screen, I just wanted to see if it is happening to anyone else before I fork out for a new digitiser, would be more cost effective to just buy a new phone. Just seems like a software or firmware thing by the way it acts and is fine after a quick on off of the screen, as if there is some cache for the touch control that gets cleared when I Switch the screen of, dunno.

Hello, Quick question before I give in and call the dreaded tech support for a repair.
I have been having issues with the bottom corner of my screen for awhile, finally annoyed me to the point of downloading a touch screen touch visualizer, and it appears my phone is not picking anything up on the bottom right, (area shown in the imgur link) I have had issues like this in the past, but this one seems odd as it is just a small portion, usually it is a straight line across the screen for me, so i am curious if it could be hardware
Also, what steps need to be taken If i do take my phone to warranty. I have triangle away, and have restored through odin before, but I always maintain the "custom" bootimage with the unlocked padlock.
thanks as always for your help!
First post on XDA sorry if this is the wrong place or I have done something against the norm
